Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense, Hazel’s Perfume ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 28 November 2007 12 Comments

Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense cologneHazel's Perfume

Calvin Klein will launch Euphoria Men Intense, a followup to 2006's Euphoria Men fragrance, in early 2008.

The new scent includes notes of ginger pepper, hydroponic sage, oudh wood, vetiver, amber, myrrh and labdanum. The oriental amber is said to be richer and sweeter than the original Euphoria Men.

Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching Aftershave. (via moodiereport, osmoz) Update: Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense was developed by perfumers Carlos Benaim and Loc Dong. Another update: see a review of Calvin Klein Euphoria Men Intense.

Hazel's Perfume is new at Beautyhabit, and was named for creator Melissa Flagg's grandmother:

A captivating white floral that recalls warm summer nights with the scent of white gardenias in full bloom laced with tuberose and lily.....

Hazel's Perfume is $42 for 3.75 ml perfume oil; for a limited time, get a free Hazel's Perfume soap free with purchase.

I hope Euphoria Intense is good. I wasn't a fan of the original Euphoria (shockingly). I found it to be flat after i had it on my skin for a while. Heck, the original Euphoria for women is definitley masculine enough to be worn by a dude. 😀

I am not a fan of any of the Euphorias, although do think the women's was better than the men's (and I usually think the opposite). Still haven't even smelled Calvin Klein Man, so must get to the mall 😉

I love the Euphoria ad, and these notes sound nice (although I got a kick out of the hydroponic sage). What do you dislike about the original? It sounds kind of rich in a Tom Ford BO kind of way.

Are we talking about the women's? Mostly, way way way too sweet, and also has a fresh note that annoys me. Bear in mind that I admire TFBO but wouldn't probably wear it, it is too sweet too. But I do like it much more than Euphoria — just think it is a better done, more distinctive scent.

Yes, I was thinking of the women's Euphoria, and it does make sense that it would be too sweet. I am childish enough to find some of these ads enticing, and then of course I am disappointed when I get a chance to sniff. Although every so often I get lucky and find something that is both widely available and cheap that I love, like Youth Dew. But of course that's an old formulation. I go back and forth with TFBO – some days it is too sweet, and some days I love it. One of my high school teachers, an elderly lady, used to say “It's a woman's prerogative to change her mind”.

I guess by now a lot of people have sampled the Intense Euphoria for men. I did a few weeks ago and I must say it is splendid. I was a fan of the original version, but did not like the disappearing act it pulls…the wearer simply can't smell it anymore after as little as an hour. The intense version is deeper, stronger and less achohol, true to the intense name. i sold by bottle of the regular brew, and I am waiting to buy the intense.

I'm sure lots of people have, but I'm not one of them — glad to hear it is worth the effort.
