Virtual focus groups on osMoz, The Perfume Island in Second Life

Posted by Robin on 11 September 2007 4 Comments

Osmoz Second Life perfume island

Osmoz is holding a series of virtual focus groups on their Second Life location, "osMoz, The Pefume Island”:

These “virtual focus groups”, from 30 till 60 minutes, animated by professionals of marketing studies, aim at exchanging with the other residents on subjects related to luxury and fragrances.

For every meeting you attend, you will be awarded a fragrance of your choice, 5,000 Linden dollars and one virtual fragrance for your avatar. To participate, you'll need to be a member of Second Life, then fill out this questionnaire. The first 100 people (residents of US or France) to join will also win a gift certificate for $10. (via press release from osmoz)

I have no idea what the Second Life phenom is about, but I did recall seeing some some Flickr pictures of perfume house lauches using the site to promote new releases…
Here's a tiny url of a set of SL pix from JPG's Fleur de Male presence:

There were others, too, but that was the only one I really took note of some reason? Maybe because there was something vaguely Hockney-esque about the images?

CK In2U launched there too. But that's the first I've seen of the JPG pics. Don't know why, but the titles crack me up — “JPG's Waterfall”, “JPG's Piano”.

NOW I have a reason to join Second Life. Could you clarify one thing though please – can you only participate in the Ozmoz group if you are a resident of France or the US, or you only get the $10 if you are French or American? If the latter, no problem, if the former, no fair!

No, anyone can participate — it is only the $10 thing, at least according to the press release. I'd imagine it is a currency issue.
