Jil Sander Stylessence ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 6 September 2007 4 Comments

Jil Sander Stylessence perfumeJil Sander will launch Stylessence, a new interpretation of 2006's Jil Sander Style fragrance, next month.

Stylessence is described as a "an intense and sensual interpretation of the original", and was developed by perfumer Bernard Ellena, who also created the original Style. The notes for the woody floral fragrance include orange leaf, cardamom, freesia, orange blossom, jasmine, violet, hinoki, amber and musk.

Jil Sander Stylessence will be available in 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum Intense and in matching body products. (quote via moodiereport, additional information via femina.ch)

Jil Sander always reminds me of my German friend, Olaf, who introduced me to her clothes in the mid-90s. I haven't tried any of her scents. You mentioned in another post that they're hard to find here. Do you know who carries them? (not in my local Macy's, I assure you).

I need to Google this Bernard Ellena. Is he related to Céline & JC? Talk about a power-hitting perfumery dynasty….

I am pretty sure that Saks carries Jil Sander. I don't have a Saks nearby so never see them…

As far as I know, BE is not related to JCE/CE, but if you find out otherwise do let me know!

I got a sample a few days ago and must say I find it a little heavy and conservative. It seems like something you would wear to the opera or to a formal reception. I wore her scent “Pure” for a while, which I liked better, it´s younger and fresher.

It is heavy, although I rather like it — heavy is a nice change these days!
