Liz Claiborne dies

Fashion designer Liz Claiborne has passed away at the age of 78:

Liz Claiborne, one of the giants of the fashion industry, died Tuesday in New York of complications from cancer....Along with Donna Karan a decade later, Claiborne's name is synonymous with outfitting the new career women of the '70s and '80s. In fact, Karan's first major fashion job was with the Claiborne company.

    May she rest in peace.

    My sister used to wear “realities” and i remember it being a beatiful and intoxicating (in a good way) fragrance.

    As the NYT article states, she knew her audience/clients and catered to them.

    She really knew her business, didn't she? I didn't ever love any of the perfumes, but back when I worked in an office, I'd say about half of the women on any given day were wearing clothes from one or another of the Liz Claiborne brands.
