David Beckham Intense Instinct, Moschino Funny! ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 17 April 2007 13 Comments

David Beckham Intense Instinct cologne for menMoschino Funny! perfume for women

David Beckham has launched a limited edition follow-up to his best selling Instinct fragrance for men. The notes for the new scent, Intense Instinct, include melon, lemon and ginger in the opening, a heart of coriander, cedar and violet leaves, and a dry down of white cedar, teakwood and musk.

David Beckham Intense Instinct is an Eau de Toilette, and is in 30 and 50 ml. It is available now in Romania and the UK, and is due for official launch in May. (via cosmoty.de, 121.ro)

Moschino will launch their latest fragrance, Moschino Funny!, this coming May. Funny! is a fruity floral that "...blends charm and vitality, tenderness and spontaneity", and the notes might include bitter orange, pink pepper, grape, jasmine, peony and green tea (that is from an online translation of a Greek source, and I make no claims about its accuracy. Will update later if I can find a better list).

Moschino Funny! is available in Eau de Toilette and in matching body products. (image and quote via selfridges, additional information via cosmeticnews, e-style.gr)

Update: Moschino Funny! was developed by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu and the notes listed above are correct; additional notes include amber, cedar and musk. (via osmoz)

I have seen the Intense Instinct in Boots but I didn't pay any attention to it, and I don't know about 'Funny', I think I am starting to realise that I can imagine what a fruity floral will smell like before I even sniff it. Is it fair to say they all smell the same? Maybe not, I like 'Delices de Cartier' and I am looking forward to smelling the new Valentino 'Rock 'n' Rose'. I always start out with an opinion and change it in the end!! I suppose my opinion is: fruity – floral's seem to be everywhere and they are the type of perfumes that dissapoint me the most. Phew!

The Beckham notes sound promising, and i must admit that instinct was , although innofensive, a decent release.

I am curious and WILL investigate!.

The funny thing is that the moschino model looks a tad slutty in a Brigitte Bardot kind of way… :P it does sounds like a wierd melange of notes to me.

I am tired of fruity florals too — Delices de Cartier is nice but too sweet for me, didn't like the Valentino at all but can't remember why :-)

They needed a way funnier ad, didn't they?

Read somewhere that the Intense Instinct is a pretty light scent too, but haven't smelled either version so don't know a thing about it.

The Moschino ad doesn't seem to have any connection to the fragrance name, does it? Why isn't it funnier?

The original Instinct features anise so I was expecting to at least like it (know that you're fond of anise too) but the bad news is I wouldn't go out of my way to try it if I were you – the anise was untraceable and the whole blend reeked of industrial unimaginativeness.

The good news is I finally bought myself a bottle of M7 today. Yeeey! :-)

Oh, congrats on your M7. I'm quite sure it can beat up Instinct, Intense version or no!

    Dusan! Congrats on the M7!!!

    It is classy as hell.

I recommend LIGHT application at first, it can turn into a headache if applied in abbundance.

    Enjoy.

Thanks! :-) It does breath class, doesn't it? And so true about overapplication – I've learned that the hard way, LOL!

I actually like the smell of Funny! for some reason. I also picked up oakmoss in the base notes.
