Vera Wang Truly Pink, Lancome Hypnose Homme ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 12 January 2007 11 Comments

Vera Wang Truly PinkVera Wang will launch Truly Pink, a new rose-based fragrance, in February:

Top notes are of white freesia, cassis and lychee blossom; the heart includes peony, pink rose accord and peony, and the drydown is of creamy woods, iris and violet wood. The juice is tinted a pale pink and comes in the same bottle type as the first Vera Wang scent.

Truly Pink is an Eau de Parfum, and matching body cream and body lotion will also be available.

Update: see a review of Vera Wang Truly Pink.

Lancome Hypnose Homme fragranceLancôme will launch Hypnôse Homme in Europe this March:

Hypnôse Homme's juice — a fresh, amber-based lavender — was created by Maurice Roucel, of Symrise. Its top notes include essences of mint, bergamot, Calabrian mandarin and Chinese cardamom seed. Heart notes include essence of Provençal lavender, and base notes include amber, musk and essence of Indonesian patchouli.

Hypnôse Homme is an Eau de Toilette, and as previously reported, the ads will feature actor Clive Owen. Look for Hypnôse Homme to reach the US by May. (both above via Women's Wear Daily)

Update: Lancome Hypnose Homme will be available in 50 and 75 ml Eau de Toilette, and in After Shave Lotion, After Shave Balm, Shower Gel and Deodorant.

Hypnose Homme! Ah, lavender is the ticket, smooth it over with amber and musk and you definitely got…

    …mmm…uhhh…

Prada Amber Pour Homme? Okay, since I love Prada Amber, I don't mind smelling a similar take on it. Can't wait for the first reviews.

I love the Prada Amber…if it is along those lines, I may like it although Hypnose for women did not appeal to me at all.

Wowee!! Hypnose Homme is the first men's scent I've ever bought for myself!!! It really is genderless: warm, sexy and slightly dirty. Thanks, Clive Owen — I may not have noticed this one if I hadn't looked into your eyes on the life-size sandwich board at the drugstore!!

Oh, Robin, I'm positive he DID!!! ;-D

P.S. Now that I've discovered the feminine joys of “masculine” fragrances, are there any others you'd recommend? That D Squared Wood stuff''s pretty yummy, and Burberry London Men is nice too (thanks, NST posters, for steering me to that one a few weeks ago). I like warm, incensey ones as opposed to sharp, citrus/vetiver types, and don't want to go back to all the older ones I associate with ex-boyfriends/husbands, which, tallying up the body count, is virtually all of them!

Maybe — Prada Pour Homme, Gucci Homme (the original, not 2), Christian Lacroix Tumulte Pour Homme.

Robin, I can't thank you enough. I just smelled Gucci and fell head over heels. It's JUST what I wanted — and so much less expensive than Armani Encens, which had had me spellbound until now. I like Gucci BETTER!!!! You are a treasure.

So glad you like it! Do try the Tumulte Homme if you ever see a tester, it is a really great incense-y cedar.

Thanks again. There's not a single bottle of Tumulte Homme to be found in Vancouver, but I will start my eBay Canada search pronto. A shame we've got that international border between our two countries; between the persnickety no-fragrance-through-the-mail-dangerous-cargo rule and the massive duties our government charge, it's a losing proposition to buy Down South where a lot of the good niche stuff is. Must make a trip. . .

It isn't easy to get here either — I've never laid eyes on it myself, but a friend sent me a small sample. One of these days I'll buy a whole bottle. You have to REALLY like cedar though!

And yes, not worth risking customs fees!
