Valentino has launched Rock 'n Rose, a fragrance "inspired by a new generation of young Valentino women....a Rose on the outside and a Rocker on the inside".

The notes include bergamot, black currant, crunch green, orange blossom, gardenia, muguet, rose, sandalwood, orris, musky notes, vanilla, and heliotrope. Rock'n Rose is available now at neimanmarcus. Valentino Rock 'n Rose is an Eau de Parfum, and is available in 50 and 90 ml and in matching body products.

Any guesses as to what "crunch green" might be? Update: see a review of Valentino Rock 'n Rose.

French fashion line Lulu Castagnette has launched Lulu, a woody floriental by perfumers Antoine Lie and Guillaume Flavigny.

Notes include pink grapefruit, tangerine, blackcurrant, blueberry, frangipani, violets, datura, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla and tonka bean. (via fashionmag.fr)

Update: Lulu by Lulu Castagnette is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

    Crunch Green = Celery?, Fennel?

I must admit that Rock & Rose paired with that description sounds pretty hip to me! 🙂 (now)

Let me play the Oracle for a moment…. I guess that 15 years from now this fragrance will be remembered as “Typical Mid-noughties”… It sounds and looks like it can get dated fast.

Or snap peas? It is an odd note to list with no explanation.

My guess: in 15 years, it will be long forgotten!

The name reminds me of one of those yearly Escada Limited Edition fragrances!

Lulu Castagnette I had was EDP 30 ml and now I have 100 ml. It seems it’s hard to find one. Almost 2 years ago (or so) it was in few stores and now I can’t find it anywhere. Lucky me I caught big bottle in february for the price I bought the 30 ml bottle year before.
For me it’s berry, datura and frangipani scent, very comfortable and longlasting.

They’re VERY hard to find in the US — have never seen them!
