New website for Suskind’s Perfume Movie

Posted by Robin on 16 June 2006 7 Comments

Perfume movieThe movie version of Perfume: The Story of a Murderer now has its own website, complete with a picture gallery, links to the trailer, and a synopsis of the story. Per Horror Channel, where I found the link, the movie is to debut on December 8.

Will we get a tie-in perfume, as we did with Memoirs of a Geisha?

A tie-in you ask? I hope so. I think that sounds like a fun tie-in, especially if the fragrance is well done. What was the name of that popular fragrance in the book, R? Was it Amour et Psyche or something like that? Yes! I think that should be the tie-in fragrance, and we'll decide if it lives up to its potent and intoxicating description in the book. :):)

Hugs and have a great weekend!

R, Do you mean the one from the very end of the book? Would be hard to live up to that one! If you mean something else I probably don't remember it…need to re-read the book before the movie comes out ;-)

No, not the one at the end of the book. That sounded like something one would only smell in heaven.

I'm talking about the one he improved upon when he was an apprentice to that famous perfumer in Paris. Remember?

    Hugs!

ooooooh! I am so excited! December 9! It'll be cold and wintry, perfect for a chilling terrifying movie, huh? I think that a fragrance would be a wonderful tie-in. I sort of imagine a hauntingly beautiful, intoxicating fragrance… not too heady, but something smelling tragic. does that make sense at all? LOL!

Oh, then I only remember very vaguely. I'm not kidding, I really do need to reread it. Hugs to you, and hope you have a great weekend!

It does make sense…and they really ought to do a perfume for the movie.

    www. perfume.thierrymugler.com

Thierry Mugler has conceived of a stunningly original project for the release of the film version of Perfume: an olfactory interpretation of Patrick Süskind’s work, a coffret to reveal the fragrant nature of the book.

The coffret is now available on-line in France, Germany and Swizerland. The English version of the website will be on-line in November and the coffret will be available in the US and in the UK in November.

Do not hesitate to contact our teams for further details.
