Issey Miyake has launched L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Eau Fraiche, a fragrance with bergamot, rosemary, mint, maté, rose de mai, pink pepper, white patchouli and musk. Atlhough it is a follow-up to L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme, this one is to be part of the regular Issey Miyake line and not a limited edition. (via osmoz & absolufeminin)
In the mass market, Old Spice will launch OS Signature, a new fragrance for men with "opening accords of lime, grapefruit, pine and aldehydic notes; a heart of ozonic marine accord, water flowers and coriander leaf, and a base of cedarwood, patchouli musk and amber"; and Brut will launch Brut Revolution, a fragrance by perfumer Yves Cassar with "fruity and green top notes as well as olfactory accords of aqueous wood mist, black pepper, patchouli, musk and moss." Update: see a brief review of OS Signature.
Reading about all this watery stuff send chills down my spine. 🙂 Where are all the *warm* scents they promised in that recent article? Hrmph.
LOL — as I said, I've got my doubts!
I love the original L'eau Bleue D'Issey – fantastically original scent for men – but it certainly had its detractors! I'm almost positive this will be a more mainstream fragrance, but I hope they've maintained the character of the original. Have you smelled it, R?
I have not — I'm not sure if it is in the US yet or not.
That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. The article promised–promised!–that we were nearing the end of the cycle of all-alike fresh-outdoorsy scents and moving into some warmer men's scents, and all I see and smell is calone everywhere. I'm so sick of it! I tried three new scents this evening–Instinct by David Beckham, Guess Man, and Nautica Blue–and they're ALL THE SAME.
Have to agree…I don't see any end in sight at the moment — for men OR women.
L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Eau Fraiche has in common with the original L'Eau Bleue some elements like a subtle aromatic camphoraceous note of rosemary. The floral heart, I would say, is more imaginary, but also more silky. The patchouli note, rather strong is the original, is here more 'crystalline'. It melts quite skillfully with a musky-ambrox base. In some way, it reminds me fragrances like Rykiel Homme, Bulgari pour Homme or Paul Smith for Men. It's comfortable and elegant, fresh and subtle.
Make the madness stop!…Do something new already!!!!!!!…
Thanks, will have to try it.
