New fragrances: Prada Eau Tendre & Lacoste Inspiration

Posted by Robin on 5 May 2006 7 Comments

Prada Eau de Parfum TendrePrada has launched Prada Eau de Parfum Tendre:

As its name suggests, this latest re-interpretation of the signature Prada fragrance is a lighter version of the original, and particularly suited to Asian markets....The juice is a new combination of the original’s four key ingredients: patchouli leaves, sandalwood, labdanum and benzoic, “re-mixed” by IFF’s Carlos Benaim and Clement Gavarry. (via moodiereport)

Prada Tendre is available now at neimanmarcus. Update: see a review of Prada Eau Tendre.

Lacoste Inspiration perfumeLacoste will launch Inspiration, a new perfume for women, this summer. Lacoste Inspiration...

...has fruity and spicy top notes of pink peppercorn, pomegranate seeds, Mirabelle plum and mandarin zest. Heart notes are made up of a combination of white flowers including jasmine, tuberose and muguet. Base notes are creamy sandalwood, vanilla, iris and musk. (via cosmeticsint)

Lacoste Inspiration is available in 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products.

A LIGHTER version of Prada? You've got to be kidding. The original is diluted enough as it is. (I realize they mean lighter as in “fresher,” “better for hot weather,” but still, I must take the opportunity to kvetch about the original Prada's lack of staying power.) Hmph.

K, it is true that it doesn't last long, but guessing it is still too heavy on the amber & patch for the Asian market? Where the $$$ is, LOL…

I'm actually happy to hear about the Tendre; on me, original Prada's staying power is nearly overwhelming, as is the sillage. I love it, but it's one of those scents that I can't spray directly on my skin. It lasted through a shower once, and I am a clean freak, so that's really saying something!

When the Intense came out, I wouldn't even go near it.

Hopefully the Tendre will be more wearable on me! (And I am not Asian by the way…LOL)

K, the Intense is different though. One is more patch, the other is more amber, although at the moment I can't remember which is which of course :-)

If anyone is curious to smell the new Lacoste(“Inspiration”), they've now set up the sample signup on their fragrance mainsite. You'll also have the opportunity to request their other samples. I just signed up last week and I'm waiting for mine to arrive…
