I mentioned last week that I'd heard various stories about the new limited edition Eau des Merveilles Constellation from Hermès: some said the fragrance was exactly the same as the regular Eau des Merveilles, some said it was slightly different. Finally, I did the obvious: I emailed Hermès. According to their customer support, the juice is exactly the same as the Eau de Toilette version of Eau des Merveilles.

I was told the juice was the same by a Hermes SA at Harrods, when I admired the bottle. But one never knows whether to trust an SA's information, even in Harrods! I'm a little sad – I like EdM but the drydown does something odd on my skin – I was hoping the LE might be more suited.
Well, knock me over with a feather! 😀
That was a great idea you came up with, R (I hope you had a fun weekend!)
I was told the same, but you never know. I'll have to trust customer support at headquarters though. I am disappointed too…had originally heard that they added jasmine to the mix, which would have been lovely, I think.
A, sometimes it takes a long time to do the obvious, no? And thanks, I did!
I'm having a hard time understanding this. If the juice is the same, why did they go through all this trouble to repackage, etc. It's not like the fragrance was so old and the packaging was out of date that they felt an upgrade was needed. I love the fragrance personally, and I love the bottle too, but I just don't see the need. I'd rather see a different fragrance than a different bottle.
It is not repackaged, just a limited edition bottle. Limited edition bottles are pretty common…but maybe you have to be a “bottle person” to be tempted?
As a bottle person, I understand this completely. 🙂 I got this one just because of the beautiful bottle and storybook in the set.
I envy you! The bottle is really stunning. How is the storybook thingie?
