Next fragrance review: Monday.

Hermes Eau des Merveilles Constellation fragranceI am off for a little weekend trip. Hope to possibly work in a little perfume shopping along the way...

Meanwhile, here is a picture of my most recent object of perfume lust: Hermès Eau des Merveilles Constellation. According to most of the reports I've read, the juice is exactly the same as the regular Eau des Merveilles, but the bottle is very, very tempting. Please comment if you've tried it: is the fragrance any different? Update: it has been established that the juice is the same.

Otherwise, my "dying to try" list is unusually short this year. What's on yours?

    R,

The only things I am really eager to try are some Guerlains like PQJ and Violette de Madame (I can dream!). I am curious about the upcoming Chypre Rouge and the new Armani Prive…

Oh, also Le Labo scents :-), especially Ciste 18. Cannot wait for it to arrive.

I have not tried it, but the SA assured me that the “juice” was the same.

I did give in to “perfume lust” on this one, and to me it smelled *almost* the same as the original. I've agreed with a friend that it's lacking a bit of the salty note, so perhaps it's a little softer, not quite as “beachy.” I love the bottle, too.

P.S. Tops on my “dying to try” list is Sous Le Vent. I will plunk down the big $$$ for this one if it's anywhere near as gorgeous as it sounds. 🙂

Don't love the new Armani Prive, but it is dark & might be more your style. Yes, very curious about Chypre Rouge & Le Labo!

I'm dying to try the new TDC, Sel de Vetiver. And I'm still waiting for Gris Clair and Songes. The Chypre Rouge sounds fascinating.

Oooh, you've tried Cuir Amethyste! I would love to read your thoughts! Is the leather prominent or is it another one of those scents that have “Cuir” in their name for no reason whatsoever? 🙂

Well, I sadly just gave in to some of my sadly spendy-ish lusts – Ethere in parfum form (finally!) and Jacques Griffe's fabled little one-off scent “French Line.” Honestly, I'm glad I gave in, but my wallet is still not on speaking terms with me yet.

Bon voyage! I found the blue Constellation bottle to smell exactly like the original. My want to sniffs are Sous le Vent, Cuir Amethyste, Chypre Rouge, and Gris Glair.

Ooh, have fun this weekend, R!

I've tested the new KMs (ugh!), the new Mona di Orios (triple ugh!) and the new Abinoams (quadruple ugh!). Only Terre d'Hermes was a winner.

And speaking of Terre d'Hermes, I can't wait to try Sel de Vetiver. Let's see how it compares.

I am also dying to try Guerlain Sous le Vent.

Chypre Rouge will not be out until later this year…think we can wait that long?

    Hugs!

I am still trying out my 9 samples from the Ormonde line. My boundaries are expanding, for example wearing a men's perfume is ok now. I don't why I limited myself to women's fragrances in the first place, since I always liked Paco Rabanne men's and some other men's. Of the 9, I like the Ormonde Man, Frangipiani, Champaca, and Tolu, although they're all very different. I haven't tried the Ta'if yet, and didn't go for the Osmanthus, Samquita, or Isfarkhand (sp?). The Ormonde Woman is very classy and I like it but somehow not right for me, at least right now. Funny how that works.

    Have a great trip, Robin.

It's funny. The only Hermes scent I've ever tried or owned is Hiris.

Of course I'm dying to try Chypre Rouge, Gris Clair…and something else that's slipping my mind.

    Enjoy your trip, Robin!!!!

I would love to try Songes by Annick Goutal (not available in my neck of the woods yet).

The TDC is high on my list too, although I didn't love Jasmine de Nuit.

Hope you will love the Ta'if, although it grew on me slowly. Sampaquita just didn't move me at all. I liked the Ormonde for men better than the women's too though.

Hiris is fabulous, but do try 24, Faubourg and all the new Jean Claude Ellenas! Also like Equipage (for men) and Eau d'Orange Vert. And thanks!

There is leather, but wouldn't want to say how much. I tried it very quickly at the same time as a bunch of other things…and it didn't interest me so I didn't pay too much attention. Will certainly give it another try soon, but would venture to guess that it is not going to be a purchase for me 😉

Well, better to be sent off to Google than eBay I say – I am holding you personally responsible for my caving on a bottle Santal Blanc! Or perhaps it was inevitable, heh.

Glad SB has another fan, I think it is generally one of the more underrated scents in the line.
