Posted by Robin on 18 January 2006 12 Comments

Burberry London perfume for womenBurberry will release Burberry London, a new fragrance for women, in February with an ad campaign featuring actress Rachel Weisz:

The fragrance itself was created by Dominique Ropion of IFF. The elegant and sophisticated floral jus features top notes of rose, clementine and honeysuckle. Heart notes comprise tiaré flower, peony and jasmine with base notes of sandalwood, musk and patchouli.

Burberry London for women is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum; the bottle is covered in fabric in the Burberry plaid pattern. Look for the men's Burberry London fragrance in the fall. (via cosmeticsinternational)

MMMMMM I just love Burberry scents so I am really looking forward to this one too! Has anyone tried it yet? I know it's not released yet but that means nothing when it comes to a serious perfume aficionado!

I thought there was one called Burberry London already? I have one, that I've been calling that anyway. Or am I loosing it? It has heliotrope and smells like Herve Leger.

If you are losing it, so am I. There is a Burberry London. This new one sounds pretty good, though. I wonder if they will be discontinuing the original.

What's a 'pillar fragrance', as it's descibed on the cosmeticsinternational site? And can it really be called 'London', when there's still a London in the line? Escentual describe the current one as having 'peach, apricot, sandalwood, cedar, amber and musk ', which sounds different from this new one. Weird!!

Nice picture – where'd you get it? (Can I see it bigger anywhere?)

Shame Kate Moss had to go; she is so beautiful.

I had always heard it called Burberry London, or sometimes Burberry of London — but on their website, they are just calling it Burberry for men and Burberry for women.

See above, they don't refer to the original Burberry as Burberry London on their website, although many of the stores selling it call it that!

A pillar fragrance is the same as what Guerlain calls their “flagship” fragrances — the one that represents the brand so to speak.

I know I'm a little late to this party, but I finally tried the Burberry frags today. (I'm working through my 'fear of SA issues' one lunch break at a time!) London was my favorite by far (although I liked them all). So much so that I spritzed my new winter scarf. I can't see wearing it when the weather is warmer, but I think it's perfect for Christmas. I found this one to be so comforting.

Since I've been reading your blog I've been reading up on the notes in perfumes I like and the ones I don't – seeing what they have in common. Sandalwood, cedar and Bergamont seem to be reoccurring themes in what I love. Of course those are in a lot of perfumes, but still, I'm learning!

I know you've said you're not a big Burberry fan, but for anyone who is: they have the cutest little set of 5 minis out for only $32 – Oh Santa… 🙂

That is a cute coffret! They ought to do one w/ all 3 of the Brit scents too.
