Perfume news: the scented dress

Posted by Robin on 30 November 2005 6 Comments

Check out the Smart Second Skin dress:

Fragrances are actively 'pulsed' electronically through a micro cabling system in the fabric web. The dress has its own nervous system, which allows the wearer to control the emotional wellbeing of the garments. It reacts on body functions of the wearer and is an extension of the human body. The fabric emits a selection of scents to create novel olfactory experiences as part of the sensory appeal and will eventually replace the traditional perfume bottle (no need to carry a bottle when you[r] clothes contain it all).

Interesting, although it just barely (pardon the pun) qualifies as outerwear. (Found via Shiny Shiny)

If the dress can dispense deodorant to combat B.O., that would be a wonderful invention alone. Never mind the perfume! We can't enjoy others' scents until the bad odors are neutralized!

Good gravy. Should come with a disclaimer for people with pacemakers.

I am so frightened. I had no idea until just this moment that I should have been concerned about the emotional wellbeing of my garments. Now I fear I've traumatized them all.

LOL — what we really need is for it to dispense the deodorant on others, maybe?
