By request, here a few fragrance gift ideas for the male half of your shopping list:
From The Art of Shaving: a 50 ml Eau de Toilette in their popular Sandalwood fragrance, plus a 2.5 oz tube of sandalwood scented shaving cream. $40 at artofshaving.
From Molton Brown, a men's gift set with a 300 ml Re-Charge Black Pepper Body Wash, a Re-Charge Black Pepper Air Light Candle, a 300g Thermal Salts Muscle Soak and a Black Pepper Body Spritz. $89 at beautyhabit.
The Jack Black Liquid Magnetism Well Stocked Bar collection: 29 ml splash bottles of Eau de Parfum in Signature Silver Mark, Signature Blue Mark, and Signature Black Mark. $49 at beauty.com.
A bargain: an Eau d' Orange Verte gift set from Hermès, including a 100 ml Eau de Cologne, plus all-over shampoo & soap. $30 at imaginationperfumery.
And for the younger gentleman: 100 ml of Spongebob Eau de Toilette for $9.99 at perfumemania. Spongebob fans will love it regardless, but I hear this is actually a not-half-bad citrus fragrance.
For the stocking: scented pencils in sandalwood, cinnamon, vanilla, orange blossom, cedar, lavender or musk. $11 for 7 pencils, from rubber-ducky.
The male half of my shopping list is hopeless, absolutely hopeless. Recently he exressed a desire to own a new fragrance. All excited, I asked what he had in mind. The answer was – something that smelled like a new car…Not only that, he wanted the scent to be actually called “New Car Interior” or something along the lines. *weeps* I searched (things we do for love :-)) but not even Demeter has a scent like that. So I am getting him Hummer fragrance (his ambition is to own that car)…
Hello R! I think Art of Shaving has great stuff.
Wonderful gift ideas. Next year can you start a bit earlier because I love to finish shopping before November if I can help it. Detest crowds and the hassle of christmas postal delays. Yes I know much to your surprise and my own – for once I can be organised! ;D
Hugs!
Sponge Bob! I know someone who is a fan, so this might be a nice little gift. 🙂
Lovely ideas, R. I wonder if any company makes a device that empties male fragrance bottles, a few sprays a day, in order to convince the owner's wife that her thoughtful gifts are much appreciated (while saving the owner from actually having (sweat) to wear said fragrances)? My H's collection of unused after-shaves and scents is becoming interestingly vintage now. I gave up and used his Habit Rouge myself. but I draw the line at Drakkar Noir. Still, the l'Occitane shaving bowl and soap was a BIG hit last year – he's onto his second soap!! A triumph!!!
M…the Hummer scents are the first thing to pop into my head too. Or just buy him one of those nasty Xmas tree things you hang from the rear-view mirror, LOL!
N, last year I was finished with my shopping by Thanksgiving. This year, I started the day after. Bad sign — but I got much of my list finished online over the weekend so am catching up. Will try to do better next year 😉
V, haven't tried it, but did see positive posts on MakeupAlley so perhaps it is worth buying. Am thinking of a bottle for my son as he is a huge fan.
LOL — and then I need a device that makes the book I buy for my husband every year look like it actually got read. He is a huge Jon Stewart fan so last year got him JS's book — and of course, nobody read it but me. This year maybe I'll just get him an Ormonde Jayne Frangipani gift set 😉
I'm still laughing! What an excellent idea. I wonder if I could get away with gifting H some OJ cleavage cream….
Like the look of the Hermes collection. Can't wait to get the Spongebob set though, trouble is, I don't like citrus, I like Spongebob though.
Thanks for listing some goodies for men. I wouldn't say no to the OJ Frangipani or the cleavage cream..er not to put on my cleavage though…as if..now where did I put my Touche Eclat?????
Barry
B, there is a Spongebob Patrick scent too…and actually, according to some sites, that is the one for men & the regular Spongebob is for women (?)
I am tempted by the Hermes set myself.
