New fragrances from Frederic Malle, J Del Pozo & more

Posted by Robin on 11 August 2005 14 Comments

Tuberose fans take note: the long rumored tuberose scent by Dominique Ropion for Frederic Malle is currently scheduled for launch in mid-September, and will be called Karnal Flower. Oops, make that Carnal Flower! (via Luis Cavallo, Frederic Malle Counter Manager, Barneys NY) Update 2: see a review of Frederic Malle Carnal Flower.

J Del Pozo Halloween perfumeJ Del Pozo will release their third limited edition Halloween fragrance in October:

Described as floral and semi-oriental, the Halloween fragrance is a composition of top-note violets, green lime and banana; with magnolias, violets, lilies, tuberoses and pink pepper at its heart, and a bottom note of sandalwood, incense, myrrh and vanilla. (via moodiereport)

New at L'Occitane: Eau de la Récolte Bleue, with lavender, freesia, bergamot, and frosted peach. (via elle.fr) Shop online now through August 31st and get a free 2 oz shea butter tin in either lavender (coupon code 998318) or verbena (coupon code 998325) with any purchase of $40 or more.

Creed sent the first bottle of its next fragrance release for women, Love In White, to Laura Bush. No word on when us common folk will see it on the shelves. (link to original article no longer working, sorry!)

That Del Pozo's bottle looks like Lutens bell bottle, doesn't it?

It sort of does! I have no idea what the others in the series have looked like — not very familiar with the brand at all.

Well I guess I won't be first to try the new Creed.

    ;O)

That is, assuming she actually gave it a try ;-)

Hi P! You mean the Halloween, right? Love the bottle, but have never tried any of them. Can't decide if lime & banana is a combo I would like, but it is worth a try!

Yes, the bottle! Swoon! I have tried Halloween, but I cannot remember anything about it's scent! LOL

Doesn't anybody else think Karnal Flower (isn't that derivative of Krusty the Klown?) is overt to an unseemly degree for a Malle. *sniff* xoxoxo

Not a good sign, forgetting what it smells like! I always assume that means I didn't need it :-)

M, LOL at Krusty the Klown!!

I was surprised by the name. It is supposed to be very sexy, and I guess they want to make that absolutely clear.

R, it's been years since I've sniffed Halloween and it's one of those scents you only find in offbeat perfume shops in the mall or Perfumemania! You're right though…obviously I didn't need it either! :)

LOL! Laura Bush and my mom. She already scored a bottle from her SA pal at Neiman Marcus. And you might be wondering where my fragrance love is coming from. Will have to make her share it.
