Ectoplasm (above left), new-ish from Lush, is really tempting even though I don't love their Shower Cream formula: "Lather up with this electric green cream packed with cocoa butter and almond oil to get spookily-soft skin. An invigorating combination of grapefruit, tangerine and mandarin orange conjure a sharply sweet aroma that'll shock you back to life. Get it before it leaves this dimension." Or, I'll wait for Cinders (above right) to get to the US: "Balls are overrated anyway; the party's in your shower with this sweet and spicy concoction of Brazilian orange oil, ginger, nutmeg and allspice powders and what better way to keep the magic alive than with skin-softening maple syrup?"
6 from Lush Labs
Lush has released six fragrances as limited editions from the Lush Labs (formerly Lush Kitchen) series: Assassin, Cocktail, Metamorphosis, Orange Blossom, Over And Over, and Two More Hearts…
The daily lemming
From Lush, the Lemon Bubble Brush: "The tub is your easel, the bubbles your canvas. Hold Lemon Bubble Brush under the tap and fill the air with a lemon, lime and orange scent as you fill the tub. Once you have a mound of Hollywood-style froth, take your brush and delicately sweep, swirl and swish it along to create rays of sunshine, yellow brick roads or fields of fluffy sunflowers." $7.95, also available in Mint and Candy. (And also on my Lush wish list: Whipstick lip balm, with dark chocolate and tangerine oil.)
The daily lemming
Flying Fox shower gel (top center) is back at UK Lush, as is Rose Jam, plus a bunch of others, some of which I have not tried — including Grass, Sultana, American Cream, Calacas, Avocado Wash (bottom right) and Whoosh (bottom left). Hope these all get to the US, and then hope I can get myself to the mall before they disappear again. And Lush, please bring back Wash Behind Your Ears!
5 Roses for June ~ body products review
Although I’ve garnered something of a reputation as a rose-lover over the past decade, I don’t review rose fragrances exclusively — in fact, my last rose perfume review was Sana Jardin Tiger by Her Side (November 2017) and my last rose body product review was even further back (September 2017). Since June is the month of roses, it seems like an appropriate time to update this situation! Here are a few rose-fragranced body products that I’ve recently tried.
I need to thank one of you (thanks, Creosote!) for recommending Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Soothing Body Lotion to me. Its consistency is just right: almost thick enough to qualify as a cream, but lightweight enough to spread and absorb without any waiting time…
