Diptyque’s holiday collection for 2022 includes the usual three candles. This year’s theme: the Milky Way. This year’s models: Étincelles (Sparks, shown above left and below), with coffee, chocolate and wood fire; Sapin (Pine, above center and below) with mountain pine and mimosa; and Neige (Snow, above right and below), with heliotrope flowers and white musks…

Another lemmable item from Diptyque's La Droguerie collection: the Odor-Removing Candle. "The odor-removing candle is based on a technology that targets and eliminates the molecules responsible for unpleasant odors. It replaces those with green and aromatic combinations of basil, mint and tomato leaf. A window onto a fresh and colorful vegetable garden." 190g for $70 at Nordstrom.
Diptyque holiday collection 2021
Diptyque’s holiday collection for 2021 is out. We start with “…a trio of limited edition scented candles with gold-coloured lids, decorations in actual gold paint and colours that call to mind malachite, lapis lazuli and cornelian. Each of the three scents is a unique interpretation of a winter classic, and hence the ideal accompaniment for the holiday season: Flocon, an olfactory transcription of snowfall, with light, velvety notes of white musks blended with those of mimosa, a winter flower; Biscuit, with the spicy flavours of festive end-of-year desserts enhanced by the density of patchouli; and Sapin [see close up below], the fragrant freshness of mountain pines intensified by the woody notes of an open fire.” The 190g candle with gold lid is $78; the 70g votive is $42 (or a boxed set of 3 is $126)…
The daily lemming
From Diptyque's upcoming Grand Tour collection, the Paris candle. "The fragrance, developed by Olivia Giacobetti, evokes that of a stroll along the quays of the Seine – the weeping willows lining its banks, the polished wood scents of the antique stores along with those of the Parisian cobblestones and of the pages of antiquarian books. Inspired by an old display stand for diptyque candles, the sculpted black wood lid is a nod to the history of the Maison, concluding this initial olfactory, cultural and historic stopover."
The daily lemming
Hopefully the last lemming from Diptyque's Summer Essentials collection celebrating the brand’s 60th anniversary: the (huge) Citronelle candle. "With its lively, aromatic notes, lemongrass instantly evokes summer evenings when the sun has disappeared from the horizon and the air in the garden cools down. Perfuming and mosquito repelling, this candle is dedicated to moments like these. Here, lemongrass, luminous, reveals floral and citrusy facets where it meets verbena, neroli and orange blossom. The artist Luke Edward Hall has illustrated in colour the iconic oval of this limited-edition candle." 1.5g for $360 at Neiman Marcus (and there is also a 198g candle in glass for $68).
