French niche line Parfums de Nicolaï has launched Sultan Leather, a new fragrance.
Dare to leather.
Whether you’re a fragrance fan or a recreational dabbler, you’ll be interested to learn that leather has become a widely popular note as of late. Bold, charismatic and powerful, at Nicolaï’s exquisite hands, it tells a story of relief, pattern, and depth. Sultan Leather melds it with florals that lend a grainy, almost tactile effect, supported by creamy sandalwood and an enveloping musk, evoking the heat of a sun-scorched desert. Cinnamon, saffron, and juniper berries bring lasting power to the trail, leaving a warm, radiant silage.
Additional notes include ambrette seed, angelica root, tonka bean and styrax.
Parfums de Nicolaï Sultan Leather is available at (and probably exclusive to) Harrods in the UK, £210 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum Intense.

A popular note as of late? It’s the source of perfumery in the first place. And I didn’t perceive a baisse in the last 10 years or so in its popularity.
Worse: Does Nicolaï give themselves absolution for a theme measured by the value of popularity? In their marketing blurb??
I am guessing that blurb was written by Harrods, but just a guess.
