Puig Colonias Absolutas ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 8 October 2025 Leave a Comment

Puig has introduced Colonias Absolutas Puig, a collection of four fragrances developed by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. Three (Agua Brava, Agua Lavanda Iris and Agua Noble) are new versions of older Puig fragrances; one (Agua Mediterránea) is entirely new.

Colonias Absolutas Puig is a collection of Eaux de Cologne, created by Puig as a tribute to its origins, to the mediterranean culture of fragrances, and to the very history of Puig and its founding family.

Agua Brava ~ "Agua Brava is a tribute to the aromatic power of the Mediterranean wilderness. Reinterpreted by Jean-Claude Ellena, it retains its signature freshness - lavender, mint, savory - while gaining depth through sensual woods and oak moss. “For me, Agua Brava was a gift from my youth”, he says. “I wanted to make it more perfumed, more masculine, more enveloping”. A bold yet refined creation that reconnects with its roots while evolving into a new kind of elegance."

Agua Lavanda Iris ~ "Agua Lavanda Iris reinterprets a beloved classic through a new lens of sophistication. Jean-Claude Ellena brings together two worlds: the freshness of lavender –a popular, familiar note—and the aristocratic elegance of white iris. “Lavender is popular, iris is noble”, he explains. “That contrast creates something truly beautiful.” Supported by vegetal musk with angelica undertones, the result is a fragrance that is both simple and elevated."

Agua Noble ~ "Agua Noble is the result of a shared vision between Jean-Claude Ellena and Manuel Puig. Originally conceived as a fresh leather with citrus notes, the fragrance fount its true character in the generous presence of orange blossom. “Manuel insisted on more - he wanted it to trully smell of orange flower,” recalls Ellena. The result is luminous, floral and noble in spirit –a cologne that speaks of refinement through simplicity." Additional notes include leather.

Agua Mediterránea ~ "Agua Mediterranea captures the feeling of being under a fig tree on a summer day. “For me, fig leaf is the true smell of the Mediterranean”, says Jean-Claude Ellena. To this symbolic note, he adds fresh mint and soft citrus, evoking a breeze both green and radiant. The result is an intimate, natural fragrance that smells of shade, sun and silence –a suspended moment of Mediterranean lightness." Additional notes include cedar.

Puig Agua Brava, Agua Lavanda Iris, Agua Noble and Agua Mediterránea are available in 200 ml Colonia Absoluta, £180 each, or in a discovery set (4 x 10 ml) for £70.
