The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 2 July 2025 11 Comments

From Chanel, the Gabrielle Chanel Fragrance Primer: "A fragrance primer that intensifies the luminous floral notes of the GABRIELLE CHANEL scent. The formula delivers freshness and hydration in a single spray. Presented in a glass bottle that matches the line's emblematic aesthetic. This gesture features an airy composition illuminated by a combination of 4 white flowers: jasmine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and Grasse tuberose." $132 for 150 ml at Dillards.

Now we need a primer? Why not just use the lotion? SMH. Maybe I am missing something.

They do not make it very clear what it will accomplish…thought it was interesting they did not claim it would make your fragrance last longer. So I am imagining it as a spendy body spray?

Nobody wants to wear a body lotion when it’s hot outside.
Serge Lutens had created Fond de parfum some 20 years ago. Kind of “primer” for his perfumes

I was surprised to enjoy this one, but it is a really pretty scent, and it gets compliments. I’d rather have the body cream though, it’s pretty well scented and lasts most of the day. Chanel body creams are among the best, richly scented, luxe packaging, and a little goes a very long way. IDK if I need a primer though….

I had the body cream and liked it very much. If you have the body cream and the perfume, I am not sure why you would need the primer unless using it instead of the perfume. Again, what do I know???

lol! I didn’t even know there is a Gabrielle fragrance now?!?

Confusing, but now I do want to smell it, so the marketing machine is working.

If you like J’Adore, this is in much the same vein.

Yes, Chanel body products are excellent and can often substitute as perfume.

Agree! I have the coco noir body cream and like it better than the perfume.
