4 from Dawn Spencer Hurwitz ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 23 May 2025 Leave a Comment

Indie perfume house Dawn Spencer Hurwitz has launched Ambre Tibet, Joyous Neroli, Special Formula X-TREEme and The Gold Queen.

Ambre Tibet ~ "While trekking in the Himalayas one encounters incredibly rich and varied aromas… but none feel as enticing and transporting as antique ambers and incense. Ambre Tibet speaks to the densely warm and inviting scent of traditional amber paste formed from fossil amber, resins, musk, and incense woods; used in ritual and sacred scent since ancient times. // A true Himalayan amber fragrance passed down through the ages with rich fossil amber, choya ral, sandalwood, incense cedar, oppopanax, and the added sweetness of tonka beans."

Joyous Neroli ~ "Joyous Neroli opens with airy notes of bergamot, verbena, and petitgrain as a prelude a purely sunny neroli (orange blossom) and jasmine heart note accord. All is grounded in a soft base of sandalwood, orange tree heart wood, and subtle oakmoss. It is fresh and refreshing; a burst of light and optimism. Pure Joy."

Special Formula X-TREEme (the forest bather skin scent) ~ "Sometimes ideas just come out of nowhere. Well, maybe they come out of a walk in the woods. Special Formula X-TREEme is a mash up of the two. I mean, who wouldn’t want to smell like the most wonderful tree bark in the world AND have it mix with their skin chemistry in the best possible way? This concept of Formula X-TREEme is just that flash of inspiration. It’s the scent of me in the TREEs. // A Colorado state of mind: Our infamous “you only better” skin scent with a TREE inside… aka the beautiful local Ponderosa Pine. Perfect for the forest bather in all of us."

The Gold Queen {La Reine d’Or : CaFleureBon X DSH Perfumes Queen Series} ~ "A striking and original fruity floral chypre perfume…fit for a Byzantine Queen. The Gold Queen is inspired by the work of Gustav Klimt and his famous painting “Judith and the Head of Holofernes”. The Gold Queen opens with a rarely used ‘golden raisin’ accord made all the more radiant by notes of yellow peach, and golden apple. The heart is a luxurious mix of saffron, yellow roses, orange blossom, jasmine, and a ‘gilded leather’ accord. All these adorn the sensuous base of oppopanax, golden sandalwood, and suede."

Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Ambre Tibet, Joyous Neroli, Special Formula X-TREEme and The Gold Queen are available in a variety of concentrations, sizes and formats, for more information see the website.
