Indie brand Imaginary Authors has launched How To Say Bicycle In French. Like the other fragrances in the line, it was inspired by an imaginary book by an imaginary author.
When an American couple uproots and leaves everything behind to start a new life in rural France, their rosy dreams are quickly replaced with something more lavender in hue—not bad, necessarily, just different. Every day presents a new hurdle for the ex-pats but each night rewards with a sense of accomplishment (usually celebrated over kir royales in the quaint village square up the road from their more-rustic-than-anticipated farmhouse). Friends don’t come easy but when they do, they come with wisdom, laughter, and some of the most memorable meals of their lives.
How To Say Bicycle in French allows you to live vicariously through the adventures, misadventures, and heartwarming escapades of two people who prioritized health and happiness over wealth and security. As they learned from the well-dressed Frenchman who rode his squeaky bicycle through the village each evening, “L’amour est de tous les temps!”
The notes include sweet basil, rosemary, white thyme, clary sage, lavender, gentian oil and provence.
Imaginary Authors How To Say Bicycle In French is $115 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum. (The 14 ml size is probably coming soon).

I love the description of this fragrance. I bet Etiket will be carrying it soon.
It’s a good description, and sounds like a classic summer cologne.
I love the description too! Such romantic whimsey! It has piqued my interest. I don’t have any IA fragrances yet but I’ve been wanting to try.
The brand has nice 2ml spray samples, just fyi 😉
Yes! I bought 5 different 2 ml samples!
The only one I really liked is Fox in the Flowerbed, but I know others like many of them.
This one is probably a no as lavender doesn’t usually work for me.
I checked with a native French speaker and she translated the logline as “Love is all around. »
I ordered a 2 ml sample with several others! Allons-y !
Report back on what you think.
Bien sûr mon amie! (Of course my friend!)
Figured you’d be interested when I saw lavender in the notes!
Guess I’ve lost my mystery, huh?
No shame in that! After all, She-ra is known for her love of vanilla.
