Aedes de Venustas Sueno Latino ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 18 May 2025 2 Comments

Niche perfume boutique Aedes de Venustas has launched Sueño Latino, a new unisex fruity leather fragrance.

Dense palms, weighed down by fresh rain. An inherent richness born in lush rainforests and the urban jungle. This is SUEÑO LATINO.

It’s the Amazonian tree canopy and Mexican architect Luis Barragán’s hot pink walls. Blooming birds of paradise and dancing all night to salsa rhythms. Heartfuls and handfuls of fruit. And even more than that, it’s a spirit that transcends the heat. “At the end of the day, fragrance itself is a dream,” says Aedes de Venustas co-founder Karl Bradl. “You close your eyes, and you disappear.”

[...] SUEÑO LATINO is not a perfume lifted straight from the tropics, but rather the interpretation of a fantasy, a juicy yet luxurious scent marked with an Aedes olfactive signature of resinous woods. Bradl and co-founder Robert Gerstner worked with perfumer Gabriela Chelariu on its creation. She brought a luminous style to the novel fragrance category of fruity leather. “It’s very lush, it’s very rich, contrasted with wetness and earthiness. There’s lots of moss, lots of humidity, all inspired by the elements,” says Chelariu. “It’s a fairytale land of nature.”

The journey begins with indigenous South American ingredients: Brazilian red pepper and Peruvian pink pepper. The latter is extracted using Firgood® technology, a gentle extraction method that captures the full aromatic spectrum of the ingredient: the vibrant, the zesty, the citrusy, the fruity. This pair of spices lends an explosion to the scent’s opening and a vitality to all the notes that follow. They give an edge to plummy, herbal davana leaves and floral bergamot zest, and light up a heart of rosa mango and milky fig.

A layered composition references the varied climates that can exist in a small volume of space: Mysore sandalwood evokes a watery forest floor, a mysterious undercurrent of suede musk feels like soft fabric against skin. A base of guaiac wood from Paraguay, fresh olibanum sap, amber, and patchouli adds rich texture and the faintest smokiness

Aedes de Venustas Sueño Latino is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, $245.

Sounds like it would resemble Bombay Bling. Hmmm…. Have to work from home today due to a power outage and Bombay Bling is sounding pretty darned good! As soon as this cat gets off my lap…

As I read the description it reminded me of Pulp, but I think you are right — Bombay Bling
