Italian niche house Maria Candida Gentile has launched Vis, a new fragrance inspired by the Croatian island of the same name.
Vis is an olfactory journey that encapsulates notes of grapefruit and intense herbal and woody accords, evoking, among other nuances, the aroma of the wooden planks used to build the boats of the ancient port of the island of the same name.
A few years ago, an American lady traveling in Croatia fell in love with the island of Vis and decided to purchase an old building to transform it into a magnificent resort: Pomalo Inn. Wanting to capture the authentic essence of this extraordinary place, she involved Maria Candida in the creation of an exclusive fragrance inspired by the island's timeless beauty.
Vis, the most unspoiled of the Dalmatian islands, has preserved its authenticity thanks to its isolation until 1989. Its ancient history dates back to the Greek colony of Issa, founded in the 4th century BC. Today, its wild nature and lush Mediterranean scrub offer a unique experience, continuing to enchant with timeless charm and pure beauty.
Additional notes for the woody fragrance include lemon, cedar, terebinth, sail and jib accord, sandalwood, wet wood accords and ambergris.
Maria Candida Gentile Vis is available in 7, 15 or 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
