It's the last weekend of March. Don't forget Donatella will drop by next Thursday! Meanwhile, Saturday is National Vietnam War Veterans Day, and Eid al-Fitr will start Sunday or Monday.
Today, our same old open thread poll. Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, the last new fragrance release that sounded fantastic to you, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…

Robin, I’ve really enjoyed the birds and spring blooms photos you’ve chosen this week. Absolutely lovely!
I’m back in Delhi again because I can’t seem to get enough of these two Astier de Villatte scents. At this rate, both 10ml bottles will be gone in a couple of months.
Gorgeous day here! Cooler with temps predicted only in the high 60’s which is a welcome relief after mid 80’s the last few days. Lots of sunshine, as per usual. I’m off for the next couple of nights so we’re hanging out in a favorite spot with a fabulous view of the Sandia Mountains. T-Rex is sprawled out in the sunshine, eyes closed with her nose twitching as she siphons and categorizes all the scented things carried on the wind. I’m seeing lots of green leafy growth so it seems spring is finally here. 🌿🍃🌱
Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend!
So glad! There are so many great shots of birds in flowering trees I could do a whole month.
I am very excited that it is shorts weather here, even if only for a day 🙂
Have not laid eyes on the Sandias for many, many moons…glad you and T Rex are happy and relaxing.
Don’t think the Sandia’s have changed other than the steady encroachment of development, so you’re not missing much. 🏠🏘️
Maybe will just live with the memories, then. Ditto for SoCal.
Have you taken the tram up the mountains? There was a restaurant on the top that I went to years ago. I believe there is still one there although I do not know if it is the same restaurant.
I have not because I rarely go to a sit down dining place unless they have a patio that allows dogs (which they may, I haven’t explored it). Some co-workers, who are married (both travel nurses) just went up there a week or so ago, although they drove and didn’t mention anything about a tram. Anyway, their review was: fabulous views, very expensive menu, and average food. So, I don’t feel pressed to go there.
Enjoy your time off and beautiful weather, Deva.
Thank you!
You get enabler’s pins! I just placed an order for “samples”, literally and figuratively. 😇
Wow! Which did you choose? I’m very tempted by the Trois Parfums Historiques, but don’t tell Donatella! 😉
Delhi and Tucson in travel spray and 3 samples. I’m also supposed to get 5 samples but who knows if I’ll get them.
Oh, please do report back! I’d love to hear your take on the ones you purchased. I got mine from Aedes and shipping was super fast. Probably even quicker for you since you’re in the same area.
What was the other one you purchased with Delhi?
Ambre Liquide, which is the one Kevin reviewed a couple of weeks ago.
Thank you.
I have a lot of explaining to do in terms perfume purchases this quarter. Today’s SOTD is Au Coeur du Desert. Just found my Andy Tauer sample sets. I was getting a little bored of wearing either no 5 or Infusion d’iris to work.
That a lovely perfume and you smell gorgeous. My 5ml cobalt bottle is still going strong, but I wouldn’t say “no” to a full size bottle if it fell from the sky!
Donatella LOVES explaining, she will explain to YOU.
Ha – love it.
It doesn’t feel much like spring, I tell you! Thursday it was weird snow, these big clumps the size of cotton balls; yesterday, more snow out of nowhere, wasn’t even in the forecast; today and tomorrow, cold cold cold. The first week of March was super duper cold: whatever happened to “In like a lion, out like a lamb”? I want some lamb weather!
Anyway, today I’m in the wonderful Boucheron Pour Homme EDP, a proper old-school men’s chypre from 1991, when oakmoss and lots of it was still the order of the day. (The EDT version brightened up the top and dialled way back on the oakmoss, no surprise there.) I feel as if I wear this a fair bit but my bottle’s still 3/4 full after 30+ years: this is what happens when your collection is just too big, I guess.
So sorry pyramus! We must have stolen your spring weather, although we’ve had back and forth warm / cold as is usual here for spring.
Trying Maksim Perfume Vanilla Oud today and notes are below. This one is out of my comfort zone b/c oud but made it into my Luckyscent cart b/c vanilla and one does what one must to get free shipping. Amirite? 😄 It’s a bit barnyardy and animalic so far and I am hoping for more vanilla and sweetness in the dry down.
In other news, I have been thinking not just about perfume in general (no surprise) but how much I still love perfume and trying new perfumes after so many years. I made the comment this week that I am much more interested in sampling than buying FBs at this point in my sniffing career for the most part. If I think about my love of perfume like a candle flame, in the last couple years it’s burned a bit low at times but I don’t see it ever going out entirely or even getting close. Right now, my perfume flame is burning particularly bright and I sometimes wonder why. Perfume is of course a great distraction from all the horrors and injustices in the world but it’s not just escape from the negative…perfume is just joy on multiple levels. From the sniffing/evaluation to reading others’ reviews/about new releases, it is so pleasing and satisfying in so many ways. There’s been research about hobbies and happiness and I can’t imagine a hobby that would make me happier than perfume. So today I shall be fanning my perfume flame and basking in the collective warmth of so many NST flames burning bright with me. 🕯🔥🥰

I love this comment She-ra! Perfume is such a fascinating hobby and I have learned so much from other people here and in the perfumeiverse. My candle shines with yours.
Ditto – wonderful post, She-ra. In fact, I think I experience the world differently than I used to because of fragrance. Not to mention the interesting friends I’ve gained.
Thank you, SP! I completely agree about experiencing the world differently as well. 🤗🕯
Thank you, ringthing! 🤗🕯
Hear hear sister!
A year or so ago, a friend set me up for a Zoom call with a woman whose job it is to help others “live their passion.” I was, needless to say, dubious. Anyway, in response to my comment that I really love smelling perfume, she got very excited about me making my own line of perfumes (Um, nooooooo), and then she suggested doing parties for folks where I have them sample perfume and give them the opportunity to purchase it (hard no!), and then she suggested that I offer advice to people seeking their signature scent (hell no!). The joy for me is the scent itself. Like wine or food, but scent, not to make, sell, or proffer advice. It’s so dumbly simple. Its a hobby. 😉🤔🧡
I would have your same reactions to those suggestions 😄
Lol. How is that even a job?
The fastest way to ruin your enjoyment of a hobby is to try to make a living from it!
THIS!
My brother loved working on cars in high school. He became an auto mechanic. Now he can’t stand to work on his own stuff.
Ugh, that’s so hard! I hope he has a new hobby he can work on, if he wants.
I agree, OF! For me it’s all about the appreciation of the perfume itself…I don’t want to monetize or profit…just enjoy it. 🤗🕯
❤️your post!
Thank you, Laila! 🤗🕯
Very well said and heartfelt. Agree 100%, She-ra!
Thank you, DeniseH! 🤗🕯
LT Piver Heliotrope Blanc from the 16.9 oz bottle
I had to look up that bottle. That’s a lifetime supply!
It’s HUGE but very inexpensive. I think I paid $23
I recently bought two small heliotrope plants at the garden center. The ride home in my car smelled so wonderful! Unfortunately they are not doing too well out on my porch. I’ll have to look up specific gardening instructions for them because I’d love to help them thrive.
Oh that sounds wonderful!!! I hope you can figure out how to make them thrive. Heliotrope is such a beautiful and calming scent.
It was 80 degrees yesterday and 35 degrees today. Back to winter for a few days. SOTD is Encens Mythique. I thought I was done with winter fragrances, but actually I don’t mind wearing them again as I think I like them better than my summer collection.
😳 Quelle whiplash!
😊
I am still wearing my winter coat because every other day it’s winter again. Yesterday was 70, Monday will be 30.
The other day it was 85 here and people were walking around in hoodies and hats…🫠
Looks like a significant portion of the US will have unsettled weather for the next week or so.
Wearing Estee Lauder Pleasures from a generous & kind NSTer. I wore it in the 90s pretty much all the time for a while and I have been craving it, nice to scratch that itch! It smells green and white, a bit clean and fresh but not in a bad way.
We have been having a lot of rain and storms and yesterday I saw the coolest phenomenon (for my area anyway). It was a sunrise double rainbow. Just after the sun came up, it was shining right through the rain onto the dark clouds in the west. I went outside in my bathrobe to see the whole thing. When we have rainbows, it’s always in the afternoon/evening and double rainbows are rare. It made my day yesterday. And the grass is starting to turn green, finally.
Love your rainbow description. I’ve seen double rainbows no more than a couple of times.
I’ve never seen a double rainbow, sounds magical!
Oh how cool!!
I saw a double rainbow in the first 3 months after I moved to Colorado. It made me realize that maybe things weren’t so bad after all.
Great story, ringthing! I saw a partial morning rainbow once, and I saw a double rainbow once, but never **both**! Also, I was a late adapter for Pleasures. But when I finally dabbed from a chance mini, I got it re: its popularity.
Yay for you having Pleasures again and for the double rainbow. 😀
Happy weekend!
Sotd is Babycat.
The last perfume that sounded good to me was MFK Kurky. Sounded like a cute and happy fragrance.
I think I had been moderately restraint this last quarter so Donatella might be a little disappointed.
I have been using La Mer’s soft cream for the last 20+ days and my skin seems to be, um, less than happy with it. Some pimples and rough texture. Not the “omg anti-aging elixir, smooth skin galore” I had expected. Did La Mer do magic on anyone of you that had tried it?
Yep, me! I have been using it for quite a while 10 years or so. I like the treatment lotion followed by the moisturizing cream. I have plenty of soft cream that I end up disposing.
10+ years for a routine is quite the dedication. I tend to want to keep trying new things.
One La Mer product that I always have in my stash is The Concentrate. It works on repairing my skin whenever it’s not at it’s best.
Joining you in Babycat, happy888cat!
Love it.
Got in in the recent swapmeet, thank you so much, generous NSTer who sent it.
It reminds me a lot of SL Ambre Sultan. I will have to do a side-by-side.
We sure do smell great!
SOTD = Guerlain French Kiss

As pfl67 commented yesterday, it’s in the 80s today and it is TOO SOON to be this hot in March! It’s not like we’re in the warmer parts of (name the state) where 80s is considered nice weather.
In other news … here’s a gift article from NYT regarding service dog 🐕🦺 puppy raisers!
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/27/well/service-dog-shortage-volunteer-puppy-care.html?unlocked_article_code=1.7k4.seFC._e9JJh8dY8rm&smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
Aw, thank you, that is so adorable! I had a college roommate who was blind and she had a service dog named Charlie. He was a real prince of a dog. Years later I saw her and we went out to eat in Lansing and she had a new dog by then, Sunny, a golden. Some people came over very excitedly to ask if that was possibly a dog named Sunny and it turned out they had raised him! They were beside themselves with joy seeing him working with his new person. Penny did not have the heart to tell them he was not a very good dog! (But for her, no other dog would ever have been able to live up to Charlie.)
Great story except for the not very good dog part!
I have some cool and rainy weather I might send your way. Hopefully it sticks around for a little bit, though. 😉
This, from someone who is solar-powered!
Hope so…
I’m wearing Mohur extrait today. Temps are in the mid-50’s and the leaves on the trees are starting to unfurl.
Spring in your neck of the woods is one my favorite places to be. So green and delicious!
I’ve been trying to keep up with NST over the last few days, but I haven’t commented, I’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster with my mother’s health – and I say that as someone who would never want to get on an actual rollercoaster.
My mother is fine now, but I’ve had a call on three of the last four nights to tell me that she’d activated her medical alarm, which she only does with good reason. She had two episodes of a very low heart rate and spent three nights in the hospital on two separate visits, then had a fall last night at home, but she managed to get back on her feet before the ambulance arrived.
I’m leaving for Europe in a few days, which added to the anxiety.
Meanwhile, I’m smelling good in Rouge Sarây from Atelier des Ors. It’s sweet, but in the dried fruit way that I love.
You must be worried and the timing is unfortunate too. Hope she will stabilize and feel better before you leave.
Second this!
Oh Glannys that does sound worrying, your poor mother. I’m glad she’s doing better now.
It’s Gaynor. I didn’t want you to confuse her with Glannys’ mother.
Thank you Kris.
Glad your mom is OK now and hope she stabilizes so you can have an anxiety-free trip.🤗
Hoping your mother’s medical issues resolve and you can enjoy your vacation. How very stressful for you, Gaynor.
Is there someone that can check in with her when you are away? No fun to travel if you are worrying about your mom. We want you to stay off the rollercoaster.
Oh, I am so very sorry. It is quite scary–I’ve been through those late night calls with my mother, too. I hope someone will be available to help out when you are away.
Oh dear, that’s so much stress. Hope things settle so you can travel without worry.
Fingers crossed for your Mother’s health and your trip.
I have more to report to Donatella for the first quarter than I would like to. Hope to do better in resisting temptation in the following months…
This morning I wore Acqua di Parma Rosa Nobile and I smelled very pretty on my Saturday run. Post shower I put some Hermes Vetiver Tonka.
Wishing everyone a relaxing weekend 🌸
NinaV those AdP scents are so beautiful. The blue line-the one that has the Miro scent-that is my favourite. I love the Mirto scent so much I have the scent, the bath gel, and the room diffuser. The room diffusers are so potent, and come in the most beautiful glass jars. I’m off for a walk in the sun-hope you had a great run, and your apres scent is a good one, too!
Hi carole! I have a mini bottle of Mirto di Panarea and it’s my favorite from the Blue line too.
I had a good 12k run and if all goes well next Sunday I’ll run my second half-marathon.
Hope you enjoyed your walk ☀️
A beautiful and fresh 14C today, tomorrow 16C.
It was a general housekeeping day but real spring cleaning not started yet. This morning I craved carnation and applied Floris Malmaison, a great favorite which has become very rare but my bottle is 100ml and still pretty full and tonight it’s Franck Boclet Vanille.
That Floris Malmaison is a real keeper and you smell marvelous, Aurora. I love carnation scents.
Thank you so much Denise, yes I realize you’re right as even in the UK where I am in the land of Floris it has become almost unattainable and/or very expensive.
I had to wear Goutal Le Chevrefeuille in honor of a gorgeous springlike day today. Traveling out of town again tomorrow so I just finished laundry, vacuuming, recycling and watering plants. A few more things on the list and then I will shower and relax.
I got this one for my sister for Xmas and she was over the moon. Makes me happy to see her joy.
I still remember the first time I smelled this, and how good it was. It’s a beautiful scent-enjoy your day 🙂
Oh yum.
Would be lovely if when InterParfums takes over AG, they released everything in 15 ml travel tubes at Sephora. Ha, as if.
You’ve been on the road quite a bit lately.
Today I’m enjoying an old BBW favorite, Forever Sunshine. With its mix of citrus, floral, and vanilla, it manages to be sweet and gourmand, warm and comforting, and somehow fresh all at the same time.
But mostly I wear it to honor the memory of my beautiful furbaby Cleopatra 😻, who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge years ago. She was truly my Forever Sunshine! We’d always had 2 cats and when one crossed over, after a suitable time for grieving, we’d adopt another. But at that time we were looking for a new kitten – pre Internet and before shelters were ubiquitous – none came our way until a new pet shop opened in town and we found her there. She was my only ‘store-bought’ kitty, – all others were strays or from shelters – and she always let everyone know she was special. A beautiful long-haired tortoiseshell, she’d saunter across the room waving her lovely tail, and always pause briefly in the middle so she could be admired. But mostly she was always there for me, especially when I dislocated and broke my right wrist, had to have surgery and pins inserted and sat in bed for several days in pain. She carefully positioned herself on the pillow above my head and ever-so-gently placed her paw on my shoulder to comfort me. She stayed with me that whole time. ❤️😿
Wishing all a lovely weekend ahead 😽!
I think you found a beautiful way to honor her ❤️
Thank you. I treasure those beautiful memories of her and can still feel her tender touch on my shoulder.
Aw, your sweet kitty story reminded me of my little brindle pit bull named Salsa. When I had eye surgery and had to be prone with my head in a what looked like a padded toilet seat for 23 out of 24 hours a day for two weeks, she would lay next to me and rest her muzzle across the back of my neck. Just the sweetest dog. Animals are the best! 🐈⬛ ❤️🐕
Yes, they are the best! They know just what we need, don’t they?
Very touching memory of your cat, it’s been five years and I haven’t replaced my Schnooky yet.
I fully understand how someone who loses a beloved pet does not wish to adopt another; it’s too painful. Others, like me, may need to, from a desire to help as many homeless furbabies as possible and an overflow of love for them – what do we do with that love?. We each need to do what is right for us and our desire to honor our pet. But I never feel like I’m replacing the one I’ve lost, just continuing to give the love I feel to another.
Aurora, should you decide to get another cat, it would not be replacing your beloved Schnooky. It would be “in addition to”.
But you have to do what is right for yourself.
She sounds wonderful. Cats don’t get enough credit for being sensitive and for knowing when we need their love and support.
I agree, bless their sensitive little souls.😇
What a sweet and beautiful kitty Cleopatra was.
I still think about my Jinx kitty, and she’s been gone for almost 13 years.
My Cleo’s probably been gone that long, too. But they live on in our hearts, don’t they?
They sure do. 🐈🐈⬛
Spent the afternoon and evening in Au Delà Narcisse, which is rapidly becoming my favorite no-brainer fragrance.
That is a good one!
I should give my travel spray of that some attention soon.
Sat – Happy Heart because my aunt likes it
Sun – FM Encens Mythique from a wonderful NSTer who’s made me a convert as well as reminded me of all the truly magnificent people there are in the world.
Mon- FM Angelique Sous La Pluie for its earthiness to help ground me
Smelling great all 3 days!
I love Angelique a lot, and it never gets the attention i feel it deserves.
Don’t mean to correct you, but Encens Mythique is by Guerlain not by FM.
I have not tried your FM Monday scent. Is it good?
Please do Kris! Although now I’m pleading Covid brain fog . Tested positive this morning. Still waiting to hear if I gave it to my aunt. Pray I’m not out of commission for 10 days. After îm better we can talk about what supplies I need to send you some ASLP.
No need to send me a thing. Just take care of yourself.
Oh no!! What terrible luck!
Duality
I have a rollerball of that one. It reminds me of something I can’t quite put my finger on…Avon skin so soft, maybe?
He’s had his Sonoran desert musk perfume “coming soon” on his website for forEVer. Can’t wait to try it!
It’s supposed to smell like Anne Klein II. I love it. And yes I’m anxiously awaiting that one too. I also really like Earth Mother. But I’m trying really hard not to buy anything these days.
Who is the “he”? I have been to the Sonoran desert (in January) and it smells very. beautiful and unique. I think there is a lot of jojoba.
Dame perfumery’s Jeffrey Dame.
Another rainy day, Sunday. I couldn’t sleep last night which is rare for me, so I feel all rattly today. Wearing Etro Messe di Minuet for the calm incense and I think it’s working. The power of perfume!
I was also awake for a couple hours in the middle of the night. Hope we both sleep better tonight!
Me too!
I couldn’t sleep either! Maybe there’s something in the Midwest air?
Hmmmmm. Maybe it’s because we keep jumping from spring to winter every other day? I hope we all sleep well tonight!
I also had crappy sleep + last night we had the spring clock change in Europe. The result is me feeling extra tired today.
Time change is hard on the body, imo. I hope you rest well tonight NinaV.
Yesterday I was in Isparta and today will be Kyoto. Both are samples from my recent Luckyscent order. I was feeling bummed I had placed my order two days before the recent promo, but they ended up sending 5 samples with my order instead of just the two I requested so that was nice of them.
I’ve not tried Isparta before and I see lots of comparisons to POAL so I might have to get a sample of that one and do a side by side.
Kyoto I’ve tried before and it’s perfect for today. Another gray and drizzly one here. The birds are chirping anyway lol. Spring will come!🌸🌺🌼
Gross here too.
I tried the new Fleur Glossier You. I think it’s better than the other two flankers.
You smell nice in Kyoto, I may copy you tonight.
Hi everyone! I’m commando so far, but am thinking of wearing Teo Cabanel Je Ne Sais Quoi after I shower, to go along with the toatsted sesame tea I’m having :). The Teo Cabanel is very similar to Arielle Shoshana Sunday, but I’d say that Sunday has more matcha green tea and Je Ne Sais Quoi has more toasted sesame.
I was thinking about mimosa scents a few weeks ago and remembered that the flowers were available in the spring, so I asked a local florist if they ever got any and she said yes! So I bought a bouquet a few days later when they came in, excited to see what they smelled like, and… they didn’t smell like anything at all! So disappointed. They must not have been the type that are fragrant, though they were pretty.
I’m thinking of placing an order for Encens Mythique and Iris Poudre since Kris so generously got me into both of them! Well hey, my no-buy lasted until last week, when I won an auction on the Goodwill online store for some vintage perfume that will come my way eventually :). I’d never heard of it and it may not be good, but it’s Galimard Jardin Secret and the bottle looks pretty. Have any of you bought things from the Goodwill site?
I’ve bought from the Goodwill site many times. I have a pretty low bid threshold so haven’t won most of the time. Most of my perfumes have been fine but a few of them had gone off.
Also they increased the shipping so I don’t bid as much anymore.
Yes, I was really surprised at how much they charged for the shipping: the handling price that was listed was $4, but then after I won the item I was charged an additional $15 for shipping via FedEx, which is almost as much as I paid for the perfume!
Yes, I’ve bought a handful of things over the years. But I also like to just ‘window shop’ and see what’s out there and look up perfumes that I’ve never heard of like a German brand called Rundholz that I’d never heard of. And sometimes I gasp at the full new verrry expensive bottles up for auction and I wonder about who owned them and what their story was. Were they saving it for a special occasion and they died and the family donated everything to Goodwill? Did a husband gift a wife something she didn’t like? Did the owner go off perfume suddenly? Not very long ago, a very vintage bottle of Caron Farnesiana went for more than $1,000. I watched it all unfold, drooling a bit, but didn’t bother bidding as I knew it would be out of my reach. Yup. Still, it was exciting.
Oh wow! Yes it was fun browsing everything, and since a lot of the listings don’t include the names of the perfumes if they’re in a “lot,” searching for particular things may not bring them up. I was fascinated by all the vintage jewelry too…
I’ve had success in the past on the Goodwill site. I mainly bid on jewelry for resale but I’ve bought several perfumes as well and they have all been fine. However, shipping has become prohibitive on the site, like often way more than my item purchase. Goodwill stores have also raised their prices and they don’t have the good finds anymore, I think all of those are sold online now. So like DeniseH, I window shop more than I bid.
Yes, I was really surprised at the shipping cost! And I’ve never found any good perfume in person at thrift stores, but I don’t frequent them very often.
I have a decant of Rundholz 03.April.1968. I have to find it (ha! Of course).
Please report back. I had never heard of the brand.
I think ockeghem has mentioned Rundholz a few times.
Glad you enjoyed both of them!
Thank you!
Encens Mythique and Iris Poudre are two top Classy Lady perfumes. Far from inexpensive, but well worth it in both cases.
I think you are correct 🙂
Hiya socks! Encens Mythique is gorgeous and worth the splurge.
Hi Jalapeno! Thank you for the enabling!
👋 Socks! I’ve had success at Goodwill sites on Ebay. Encens Mythique has been popping up at various discounters and resale spots. I bet you can find a good deal yet.
Hi Mossy! Goodwill sells on Ebay too? Veeeery interesting!
Happy Sunday Funday! We had some whipping, howling winds last night that woke me about 3am because the noise and the rig jigging. We’re parked on a bluff overlooking the Rio Grande, so the winds gets channeled and compressed (maybe similar to a river abruptly being channeled from a wide, slow moving area to a very narrow, fast moving area?), I think. Does air move in similar ways to water? These are the questions that let you know you’re not as bright as you’d like to be. 😅
I feel like I tied up a lot of loose ends and paperwork yesterday, so today my goal is to make a list of everything outstanding and work on it throughout the week before departure.
Anyway, a bit blustery and overcast today so I’m wearing the IA chocolate dipped waffle cone one from a decant. Lovely stuff! So thankful for those who host split-meets!
You smell great, I love that one. I wish I would have bought a bottle but I’m very grateful for my decant and the split meet host!
Re: your question about air and water. Yes, both are fluids and can behave the same. They do flow.
But air, as a gas, and water, as a liquid, also have big differences in physical properties. You can compress air. Can’t do that with water.
I slept badly last night and felt quite anxious this morning. Unfortunately I had planned to meet friends and didn’t want to cancel last minute so I forced myself to go out wearing Chanel n.19 edt.
Hope to get some good rest tonight 🤞
You smell wonderful! In the great search for a Lady Gaga perfume, I found a bubble-wrapped version of vintage No.19 EDT. It did not feel particularly “cloud-like” to me so will save the wearing for another day.
Vintage No.19 must be a treasure!
You smell lovely, NinaV! I hope you had a nice visit. I might join you in Chanel No. 19 as I get ready to do some yardwork.
Thanks Gail!
Oh, no, very sorry for the anxious feeling and forced going out, hope your mood is lifting. I had a ‘bad’ day Monday. Sweet dreams tonight.
Thanks Aurora 🩷 I had a relaxing dinner with my sister and my mood improved. Now I feel ready for Monday 🙂
Glad to hear your dinner outing helped ease the earlier anxiety. Hope you sleep better tonight. 😴
No. 19 is perfect as a “Get ‘Er Done!” perfume.
Sitting with my kitten who is recovering from her spay procedure Friday. She’s asleep on my weather in the sun. She will not wear her cone of shame but she’s leaving her incision alone. Last night she felt a bit better-she could play a bit, and that’s nice to see.
Not wearing fragrance while she’s healing but I did use my Musc Nomade body cream as a hand cream. It’s gentle and smells good, and should dissipate soon, leaving a gentle trace of scent behind.
Hope everyone gets time to rest and heal this weekend.
Swift recovery to your furry friend. I think we’re all affected by the season and time change.
Wishing speedy recovery for your fur baby
Joining others in wishing speedy recovery to your kitty 💞
Sending healing good vibes to your kitten from my 😻😻😻. Hugs and 😽😽😽
Healing purrs from Teflon kitty!
Thank you, all of you for the good wishes for Pounce. The vet did a nice job and she’s recovering well. She’s a tough cat but she also likes to snuggle, especially in the morning when I’m having coffee. Wearing L’eau d’Hiver on this stormy Monday-it started out freezing rain but the temperature is supposed to rise to about 11 C later on.
I love her name! Pounce, so cute.
Hello friends, I’ve been absent for a bit with various things happening including my cataract surgery (so far so good) and a rapidly deteriorating geriatric cat, who has become generally incontinent. It’s exasperating and I’ve tried to put on little diapers (I bought the smallest doggie size) but the catch is that they have a hole for the tail and she does not have a tail! (She’s a Manx.) It turns out that they won’t stay on without the tail to keep them up on her belly. Not to mention she hates them. Then last night at 7 there was a huge explosion outside and our transformer blew so we lost power. It’s 2 p.m. now and still no power! Long story about contentions with the power company. I went out for brunch and got coffee and an omelet but came home and there’s no change…. at least my devices are now charged. It’s warm though, 77 inside now and humid.
On the perfume front, I went to Kuhl-Linscomb lately and tried a brand new Creed, Eladaria, which is sort of marketed as a peony scent but is more truly a rose. Pretty but not remarkable. I once again tried on some sprays of Arquiste Almond Suede and once again felt I have to buy it! I am commando right now because I have not showered (no hot water!) and am just trying to get by without becoming too sweaty…
Sending wishes for your power to come back and your cat to take a turn for the better.
So sorry to hear about your cat 😿 Hope your power comes back soon, you’ve had enough difficulties already.
I’m so sorry to hear all your difficult news, especially about your kitty. It’s so hard when they get old and have serious issues. I once had an elderly cat who, amongst his other issues – failing kidneys, diabetes requiring daily injections – had some serious ear issues. He would shake his head and I would find blood spatters here and there, even after he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, sad reminders of my loved furbaby. My ❤️ goes out to you.🤗
Sending healing vibes to your cat and hopefully you get hot water restored soon!!
I hope you are recovering swiftly from your cataract surgery, and I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. Sending you hugs and fortitude.
So sorry to hear about your cat and your lack of power. I hope the electricity is back ASAP. Hugs!
I hope you have power now.
I’m sorry about your sweet kitty.
I’m so sorry both about your cat and power.
I hope that at least the power is back now.
Oh, no! So sorry to hear of all that’s going on at your house. Good vibes and wishes coming your way.
Calypso I’ve dealt with the geriatric cat issues, and I’m so sorry for what you’re facing. Please look after yourself. Hope everything goes as well as possible for you with all the things you have going on.
A lasting power outage is quite serious! We live in tornado prone Indiana and severe storms happen often. Two years ago we lost a freezer full of food after a three day outage. At least five houses around us got generators after that. I understand about your poor kitty as we went through that. We had some relief by taping down pee pads on the floor along the path to our dear girl’s litter box. She was so faithful to the end to try to get there. We then could replace one or two pads each day.
😢😢😢

A stormy day here, but the bad weather is on its way out and the 🌞 is beginning to peek thru the clouds. Relaxing with the ballgame on TV, waiting for the rain delay to end but enjoying the interim programs. My SOTD reflects what I’m doing today, the long d/c YR Neonatura Cocoon, a wonderful blend of dry cacao, patchouli and vanilla. Some say it’s gourmand but it’s not sweet at all, on me it’s mostly a dry, somewhat powdery mix that’s soothing and somehow restful. A favorite of mine, and I believe another NST’er loves this one, too, maybe Pyramus?
Hope everyone stays safe from the storms! 🤞
Stormy day twins!
It’s been a chilly Sunday here for me. It was right around freezing this morning, and I had to turn the heat back on. But!! It rained Friday night, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, and this morning! Very happy to see some much needed precip arrive. There were a few rumbles of thunder Saturday afternoon, but nothing severe. Been a good weekend to stay inside and do “indoor tasks”.
SOTD = sticking with TM and wearing Alien: Le Gout du Parfum/The Taste of Fragrance. This might very well be the last day I can wear it for a while. It’s too much for me if the temperature is above 50 degrees F (10 degrees C).
Glad you didn’t get anything severe. You smell great!
The only weather alerts I had were of the “lightning is in your area” variety. It can be annoying when more than one app freaks out at the same time.
Thanks for the perfume compliment!
Re: turning the heat back on – I just let it be until there’s a string (5-7 days) of 70s + before I turn it off. “Supposedly”, the heat will only go on if the outside temps are low enough …
I get a LOT of passive solar heating in my apartment. Having said that, the temperature in it dropped by 6 degrees when the front moved thru on Saturday. So I had the heat set to 66 for Sunday morning.
It was close to 80 here last week for several days!
It has been a very unsettled weather day here. We had a Tornado warning a few hours ago.
This morning I was trying to usher in happy weather by wearing EL Tuberose Gardenia. I will try again tomorrow when a wintery mix is expected.
Love that scent! You smell fantastic!
Oh yuck. It’s way too early for Tornado Warnings, IMO. Try telling that to Mother Nature, huh?
I hope you are safe from the tornado.
The cherry blossom picture is lovely.
It’s Monday, so I am starting the “cloud/mist/fog” CP. Today I chose Narciso (“White Cube”), because it feels like a thick, fluffy scented cloud.
You smell especially great today Glannys, that’s one of my favorites.
You smell wonderful! White Cube was a thrift store blind buy success for me. I loved the bottle and I knew NR had many fans at NST.
Hello NST- happy spring
Things have been busy here. Saturday I turned another year older, we had a wonderful spring break vacation 🌵. I am in Jersey today and reading The Samurai’s Garden by Gail Tsukiyama
I hope everyone is well
Happy Birthday! I saw your wonderful pictures of the “Wild West” vacation! It looked like lots of fun!
I loved it! I miss the sunshine and the horses.
We are thinking of Texas for next year

Happy birthday!
Happy Scented Birthday, LTSG! 🎉🎁🎊🎂
A very Happy Birthday to you!🎈💐👸
Happy birthday! 🎊
Flooring installers here today. I will be so glad when this remodeling gets done this week. My hubby and I like quietness, and it has been anything but quiet the last few months. However, everything has turned out really nice and in a few days it will all be behind us. Next week we can relax as we are going to North Carolina to see the grandkids.
SOTD is Ferre. Love my iris scents.
Iris is so nice this time of year
Safe travels!
Thanks. We leave a week from Wednesday. Can’t wait.
Smelling good!
It’s Tuesday here already, Monday passed in the blink of an eye. I’m wearing Suleyman Le Magnifique from Fort and Manle.
Robin’s news about White Linen Legacy Oud, which I think was launching at Harrod’s, got me thinking about EL’s other Harrod’s and/or oud-EL perfumes. I have Aromatics Black Cherry, Azuree d’Or, Wood Mystic, Amber Mystique, and the Aramis Calligraphy trio. Today I’m wafting Wood Mystique. It makes me think of Ciara, but with a medicinal oud instead of the cozy resins. I dont remember the long drydown but I generously spritzed so my shirt will remind me tomorrow.
Wearing Apres l’ondee today, courtesy of a wonderful NST’er! It’s quite appropriate with all the rain we’ve been having.
My turn for a less than stellar night of sleep. I had a couple of early morning wakeups today so it’s been slow going.
SOTD = commando, but wearing scented lotion in the usual spots.
Boo on the bad sleep! I hope you get more rest tonight/tomorrow night.
