Vilhelm Parfumerie Triptych Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 10 January 2025 10 Comments

Vilhelm Parfumerie has launched The Triptych Collection, with three fragrances: Chimilka, Great Lord and Sun Cities.

Three powerful fragrances dedicated to the unique fate of an outstanding person. Courage, inspiration and open-mindedness.

The common structure of this collection features an imperial osmanthus with leathery and powdery facets, paired with a velvety immortelle, enriched by earthy notes of patchouli and oakmoss. Each scent is characterized by an accent note.

Chimilka ~ "[...] Between duty and desire, strength and passion, Chimilka is an ode to all the women who transcends [sic] their femininity to express what they are made of. Strong, free, magnetic, Chimilka is a leader and an inspiration. Beyond femininity, she embodies the idea of freedom. A promise of empowerment, a story of liberty, a daring journey." With peach, mandarin, cardamom, leather, violet, saffron, oakmoss, immortelle, osmanthus, patchouli, amber, pink sugar and musk.

Great Lord ~ "[...] Between past and future, between power and secret, the golden path is an invitation to daring experiences. With Great Lord, Vilhelm Parfumerie invites you to follow your destiny: write your story, elevate your life and reveal your sacred fire. Doubts are a part of the path. Just dare." With plum, mandarin, cardamom, leather, violet, saffron, oakmoss, immortelle, osmanthus, patchouli, amber, pink sugar and musk.

Sun Cities ~ "[...] Between sun and opulence, between movement and calmness, Sun Cities is a powerful creation that invites you to a daring quest. What do you dream of?" With pineapple, mandarin, cardamom, leather, violet, saffron, oakmoss, immortelle, osmanthus, patchouli, amber, pink sugar and musk.

Vilhelm Parfumerie Triptych Collection Chimilka, Great Lord and Sun Cities were developed by perfumer Jérôme Epinette, and run €300 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Cool bottles–immortelle and patch are very tricky for me, so doubt
I’ll sample. Maybe they’ll put something subsequent in one of those
    flacons!

Too expensive for my blood no matter what notes they use…

I assume they refer to something, but no idea what.

Wow, silly perfume blurbs to the max. Do you want to go on a daring quest? Pineapple would be the first thing to come to mind! are you more the type to seek freedom and power? Pink sugar and musk are your assured route to success! ha ha ha ha ha

Seriously they should not have included “pink sugar” in the list of notes.

Maybe I’m just in a cynical mood today, but to me this seems like they were working on a new release, got 98% of the way there and narrowed it to these three variations, but none of them stood out from the other two so they decided to just release all three rather than continuing to tweak. If they released it as a coffret, maybe with a fourth bottle of just the common structure, then OK I’d be less likely to give side-eye.

I do like the bottle (said in a grudging tone. Clearly someone needs an afternoon cookie 😶‍🌫️)

I give the side eye to anything at this price point.

I really like those bottles. But between immortelle and that price point, it’s all a big NOPE!

Nothing from this house has floated my boat. I would even invoke the dreaded poser niche to describe them methinks. 🤭
