Tauer Perfumes Heraud ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 14 September 2024 5 Comments

Tauer Perfumes has launched Heraud, a new unisex gourmand fragrance.

"HERAUD: MIDDLE ENGLISH AND OLD FRENCH FOR A MAKER OF PROCLAMATIONS, A CRIER; A DISTINGUISHED MESSENGER, KING‘S MESSENGER."

One of the central pillars in the perfume formula is the double distilled extract of COCOA beans from the Ivory Coast. Very hard to get, not available every year, produced in smaller batches: HERAUD might not be available at all times. This is the sacrifice we have to pay for quality. Here is a technical detail for you: this cocoa beans absolute is overdosed in the perfume formula and radiates lovely throughout the entire perfume. Head notes: an uplifting Bourbon bergamot oil, balancing a bitter cocoa head note. Heart notes: fruity, milky cocoa with the sweet notes of dried dates. A natural touch of clean white florals. Base notes: dry timber and spicy cedarwood, sensual Planifolia vanilla, clean powdery musk and crisp amber gris.

***

The inspiration behind HERAUD came from a deep desire to create a truly unique fragrance. I aimed to craft a fragrance centred around rich cacao extracts, taking it beyond the usual gourmand scents. I wanted to make a perfume that’s both delicious and sophisticated, combining the comforting sweetness of gourmand notes with a modern touch and timeless appeal. Using high-quality cacao extracts as the core, I achieved a luxurious aroma that lasts all day. I wanted this fragrance to be warm and ambery, wrapping you in a cozy scent that’s perfect for any occasion. Its long-lasting nature ensures that the delightful mix of sweet and bitter cacao, along with hints of vanilla and bourbon bergamot, stays with you throughout the day. The idea was to balance modern and classic elements, offering a unique scent that’s both familiar and refreshingly new. I wanted it to be a celebration of gourmand indulgence, carefully crafted to be beyond the ordinary. The addition of bourbon bergamot adds a fresh, slightly citrusy edge, enhancing the complexity of the fragrance. To further enhance the scent, I incorporated woody notes that are dry and crisp, providing a perfect balance to the ambergris and musky undertones. These woody notes give the perfume a grouding effect, adding depth and sophistication without overpowering the gourmand elements. The result is a multifaceted and intriguing fragrance that evolves beautifully on the skin.

Tauer Perfumes Heraud is available in 50 ml Elixir Parfum. In the US, you can find it at Luckyscent, $235.

I usually don’t like gourmands at all but still ordered the sample set. You can’t not try a new Tauer right? 🙂

It sounds really fantastic to me but I admit I missed the last one…so it can be done!

I ordered the sample set as soon as I saw it. Thankfully I’m in a time zone that favours it this time…I thought long and hard with Nexin about buying a FB unsniffed, but it was moot because by the time I woke up on the West Coast and saw the launch, they’d all sold out.

Thank heavens for the sample set, actually — because samples are the perfect size for me to take home and I could use some additional diversity in the meantime.

I got Nexin blind and I do enjoy it. But I haven’t opened the box, only used the sample I got.
