Imaginary Authors Untamable ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 12 September 2024 8 Comments

Indie brand Imaginary Authors has launched Untamable. Like the other fragrances in the line, it was inspired by an imaginary book by an imaginary author.

Have you ever had a love so wild that you couldn’t hold on? At its core, Untamable is a love story born in the springs, waterfalls, and Indian Paintbrush covered fields of Texas Hill Country. It’s a classic western told through the lens of the new west, about the kind of love that stays up late after the honky tonk on Saturday night and is still up early for church on Sunday. It’s a story populated by modern day rabble-rousers, bandits, and outlaws—a compassionate waitress, an indigenous rodeo star, a bluegrass playboy, a female long-haul trucker, an up-and-coming rap artist, a queer sheriff, mischievous bachelorettes, and german tourists looking for the “real” America—all of them with one thing in common: they’re each untamable in their own way. When the sun sets on this cautionary tale, it won’t be hard to see yourself in each of them.

The notes include leather saddle, tonka resin, saguaro blossom, Texas yellowstar, cumin, tumbleweed and paso fino.

Imaginary Authors Untamable is $105 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum. (The 14 ml size is coming soon).

Like everything else from this brand, I want to try this. Texas yellowstar is intriguing.

I assume it is a fantasy note, but it does sound like a fun fragrance.

I don’t know what many of those notes smell like and have never been to Texas, but I do want to try this one.

Sounds like it will smell like leather, flowers & cumin 🙂

I hope not very much cumin!

Paso fino ! Ha! Horse scent is like human scent-some smell better than others. One of my Haflingers is the best smelling horse I’ve ever known, and I have known lots of horses. Geldings who are low on the dominance ladder tend to smell the best to my nose… sorry for the distraction-I would like to smell this!

Again, I see that as a fantasy note…or another way of saying leather, animalic base.

Yes, I am sure you are right, but it’s fun to think of some obsessive perfumer preparing enfleurage trays with the contents of a curry comb full of his beloved steeds sweaty hair!
