British niche line Ormonde Jayne has launched Kashmir, a new addition to the La Route de Soie collection.
4000 meters above sea level, snow-capped glaciers, pristine lakes and rushing rivers, with deep, narrow valleys, densely forested with the majestic towering deodar tree and Himalayan silver fir, the valley of Kashmir offers a unique, breathtaking terrain.
In summer, the meadows are covered with wild, rare blue poppies and Kashmiri saffron. Kashmir, Ormonde Jayne's perfume, is not without considerable seductive power. The focus of this woody, hypnotic fragrance is on deodar from the cedar family, a soft, dreamy sandalwood and a balsamic silver fir, underscored with iris, rose, jasmine, cashmeran, vanilla and a caress of musk to fix this penetrating perfume.
Additional notes include bergamot, cardamom, coriander, pink pepper, benzoin, patchouli, frankincense and myrrh.
Ormonde Jayne Kashmir is available in 10 and 88 ml Eau de Parfum.

Hmmm. That is in my wheelhouse, for sure…
Luckily not in mine 🙂
One long summer in 1983, my then husband and I traveled across India and then up to the Himalayas.
Coming from the heat and dust of the plains we went to Bhutan, Sikkim, back to India and Darjeeling then onto Leh, Ladakh and Jammu.
We spent a glorious week on a Kashmiri houseboat.
All of this was done with the mindset of a 30 year old who didn’t worry about the lack of roads.
I treasure that long sometimes difficult, never less than amazing journey and still have incense tucked away inside a decorated Kashmiri box.
This will be a yes for me. I have really enjoy Damask, Taif and Levant. Also Tanger.
And there are travel sizes!
What an amazing journey.
Always yay for travel sizes!
