Christian Louboutin Fetiche Collection ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 22 August 2024 11 Comments

French luxury footwear brand Christian Louboutin has launched The Fétiche collection, with five fragrances: Fétiche L’Ambre, Fétiche L’Ébène, Fétiche Le Cuir, Fétiche L’Encens and Fétiche L’Iris.

Fétiche L’Ambre ~ "Heady and hypnotic, Christian Louboutin’s Fétiche L’Ambre eau de parfum is an encapsulation of subtle sensuality. Leaving an alluring trail of passion, warm amber wraps around the green floral facets of tuberose – perfumes’ most carnal flower – before contrasting with earthy patchouli notes." //  “I wanted to reinterpret this (amber) signature by introducing an unexpected clash of green freshness, contrasted by patchouli”, says Delphine Lebeau, Master Parfurmer.

Fétiche L’Ébène ~ "Embodying strength and seduction at once, Christian Louboutin’s Fétiche L’Ébène eau de parfum is both refreshing and alluring. Adding a captivating dimension to the sensory experience, a splash of coconut contrasts with highly dense doses of deep cedarwood, creating a burst of irresistible freshness that fills the air with your every movement." // “Cedarwood is an exceptional ingredient… that I wanted to sublimate by overdosing its woody depth… a true Haute Parfumerie signature”, explains Jean Christophe Hérault, Master Parfumer.

Fétiche Le Cuir ~ "A fierce fragrance, like a caress on the skin, Christian Louboutin’s Fétiche Le Cuir eau de parfum is an exploration into leather as you’ve never known it – reinvented softer, deeper and distractingly sensual. Boasting a natural richness, the sumptuous note transcends on a journey into deep facets of osmanthus, providing a peachy, skin-like warmth, that’s anchored by a vibrant, silky-suede base drenched in musks." // “The sumptuousness of leather through the natural richness, sensual and deep facets of osmanthus” - Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Master Parfurmer.

Fétiche L’Encens ~ "Captivating and enigmatic, Christian Louboutin’s Fétiche L’Encens eau de parfum sees incense – as mystical as it is precious – contrasted by an explosive cocktail of spice. A bold blend of fiery and cool tones is met with a burst of freshness, enhanced by pepper, that evolves into alluring spices and warm woods." // “Incense, as mystical as it is precious, is contrasted by an explosive cocktail of spice” - Paul Guerlain, Master Parfurmer.

Fétiche L’Iris ~ "A homage to one of the most noble and refined ingredients in perfumery, Christian Louboutin’s Fétiche L’Iris fragrance celebrates the splendour of the iris. Also known as ‘blue gold’, the scent stands tall, nobly imparting its powerfully delicate aroma before meeting patchouli, floral and earthy notes that evoke an air of timeless elegance and ignite an invisible flame of desire." // “This is an homage to one of the most noble and refined ingredients in perfumery. A creation that celebrates the splendor of Iris” - Caroline Dumur, Master Parfumer.

Christian Louboutin Fétiche L’Ambre, Fétiche L’Ébène, Fétiche Le Cuir, Fétiche L’Encens and Fétiche L’Iris are available in 80 ml Eau de Parfum, £185 each at Harrods. There is also a coffret of five 9 ml miniatures, and a five x 2 ml discovery set.

Hmmm. First thought, whatever they paid that copywriter was too much
Additional thoughts. I would try the leather, because leather, and the iris, because iris. Skip the pepper one . The other who knows?
Those bottle caps look actively dangerous. Not an appealing design point.
But I would still small the leather- the only one the copy seems to add info about.

They sound a bit like a plot element from a film noir, i.e. someone being stabbed by one as it was grabbed from a vanity table.

Ha! That’s true. And then it could just sit there in plain sight while they comb the room for the murder weapon…

I’m sorry but if you slip and fall onto your vanity where this bottle is standing it’s going right through an eye…#justsaying

Only five? How disappointing. I was counting on an even dozen.

I’ll give him credit for sticking to a theme, though. I was just looking through the products at Selfridges and most of them are designed around that same perilous stiletto, the lipsticks and nail varnishes, even the makeup brushes. He clearly wants a lady’s dressing table to furnish her with as many weapons as possible.

Well, from that perspective, see, why no? Never hurts to make sure of your armory!
