Papillon Artisan Perfumes Epona ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 8 August 2024 8 Comments

UK-based indie line Papillon Artisan Perfumes has launched Epona, a new unisex fragrance.

The strength and majesty of leather, the sweet dance of hay on the summer’s eve; and overarching these, the compelling velvet heat of horse hide.

Epona, a tribute to the Celtic goddess of horses, captures the essence of equine potency and pastoral tranquillity. The delicate floral touches of violet dance in ebbing sunbeams, while distinct saddle soap accord brings a vibrancy that springs forth from balmy hair. Gods and Goddesses streak luminous resin fingerprints on sun-drenched saddles; thundering hooves softened with honey. Verdant grass tumbles and sears in August’s gilded sun. Colt strands stream in summer’s soft tempest. And you breathe again, with leather, heat, meadows and skin.

Additional notes include opoponax, oakmoss and petitgrain.

Papillon Artisan Perfumes Epona is available now at Indigo Perfumery, $200 for 50 ml Extrait de Parfum.

you never know with things like this if the perfumer is working from ideas of real horses, real hayfields, real saddle leather or ideas of what some scent chemical manufacturer says is what saddle leather, hays fields and horses should smell like if one used their chemicals as a starting point… I am interested to smell it, anyway. Epona is a good name…
