Hiram Green Tryst ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 12 June 2024 17 Comments

Hiram Green has launched Tryst, a new natural fragrance.

Remember the drive we took down to the orange grove that spring?

How the winding roads carved ribbons into the hillside, and we knew the words to every song on the radio. How the air smelled sweet—like honey, like possibility—and the sun warmed our skin. How we found a quiet spot to park and kissed under the orange blossoms, and the whole day felt like a secret that was just ours.

Later, on the way home, you found a flower in the folds of your coat. How their smell lingered—crisp and bright and golden.

The notes include orange zest, green buds, neroli, orange blossom and honeyed resins.

Hiram Green Tryst is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, €195.

Ok, this rarely happens, but the marketing spiel has totally sucked me in. I really want to try this.

It sounds really, really good. If there was a 10 ml I might buy unsniffed.

The marketing on this is very, very enticing

Yes! Just the thing for good perfume marketing – a perfectly described scent memory come to life.

It reminded me of the XTC song Summer’s Cauldron:

It’s from the album Skylarking. I’ve listened to it uninterrupted countless times. Back when albums were made to be played that way – the whole of it told a story and was interconnected thematically. IMO, one of the best albums ever.

Oh I love the smell of walking by an orange tree. I can’t wait to try this, though I still haven’t tried Philtre! The rate at which he discontinues makes me feel like I shouldn’t be so lax about it.

He is still listing Philtre as “new”, so at least for that.

This sounds similar to his discontinued Dilettante, which I love. So this sounds promising!

I was looking through his catalog on fragrantica and thought the same thing, therabbitsflower.

He just posted on Instagram that it’s a variation on Dilletante. Not a direct quote, but it seems worth trying if you liked the original!

Oh good, I’m glad he addressed it directly! I have a full bottle and a travel spray of Dilettante, luckily. But of course I want to try the new perfume.

I think I need this too. Speaking of oranges has Séville À L’Aube been discontinued?
