Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit and happy May Day! Birthdays: Calamity Jane, Sterling Allen Brown, Joseph Heller, Terry Southern, Shirley Horn, Judy Collins, Wes Anderson. RIP Paul Auster. What fragrance are you wearing?
I have a little vase of lily of the valley on my desk, plus I'm wearing vintage Diorissimo, because May Day.
Reminder: 5/3 will be Chypre Friday! Wear a chypre fragrance of any sort — classic or modern or post-modern. This is a repeat from 2016.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2024, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Blossom Jasmine Bunny ("Who is this lilac lovely? Blossom Jasmine Bunny is such a funny lass. She’s clearly been rolling in the lavender patch! Her pretty ears are so colourful, and flopsy and soft as a jasmine petal") is out of stock in the size shown, but you can get the small version for $18 at Jellycat.
Sadly I’m no longer a proud owner of mini bottle of 80s Diorissimo, so I’m wearing Chanel Beige and desperately trying to discover its lily of the valley notes (I remember in old Grain de Musc spring list Denyse wrote that Beige has unlisted muguet note). Happy May Day!

Happy Wednesday!🌞
Hey twin!
👋🏻
You and Robin are co-captains of Team Diorissimo today.
Our Diorissimo team smells fantastic!
Hello and rabbit, rabbit, rabbit!
Comète had launched in my local Chanel today and I ran out to test it. Here are my thoughts:
It’s undeniably Spring. The air is crisp, sky pale blue with fluffy white clouds, the Sun bright but gentle. You pass by a French pastry shop, glass cases filled with dainty, artisanal petit fours and confections. Everything precious, tempting and calling out to you. But what to choose? Well, you can never go wrong with a macaron.
From the rows of the perfectly round cookies, one catches your eye. “Comète. It’s our newest creation.” Pastel pink and baby lavender, skilfully swirled to create elegant, marbled shells. Sandwiched between is the filling, a darker shade of violet. “Perfect.” You whispered to yourself. “One please. Thank you.”
Stepping out onto the street, you take a small bite with anticipation. First to appear is the fragrance of almonds, inviting you to discover what is within. As you inhale deeper, a gentle dance of florals joins in, composing mainly of heliotrope and a petal or two of cherry blossom. This combination gives an effect that is almost creamy. Finally, the filling. Immediately identifiable as iris, it is powdery, velvety and slightly earthy. Deftly crafted to balance with the rest of the composition and never overpowering. All this rests upon a bed of translucent, fluffy white musk. Elegant, easy to love and never cloying, this is enjoyable to the last morsel.
There is minimal change throughout. Like a photo that captures the flowers at their peak blossom, the beauty is unchanging. It is exactly what Spring calls for: a light and joyful floral gourmand that is a delicate pastry rather than a full-on dessert. It easily suits most occasions, dressed up or dressed down, it’s your call. Like the stardust that it’s based upon, anyone that encounters its trail will surely stop and admire, at least for a little while.
Great description
Did not project on me at all, after 3 hours it all went so soft
Glad you had a scent trail
Money saved for me
Wow! What a description. It sounds lovely.
Agree with Kris! I can’t wait to try it!
Ohno this sounds up my alley! Will have to drop by Chanel sometime. Thanks for the review!
Wow, that is some serious writing! Thanks
Love your description, it makes me want to try it again since it was very light on me , couldn’t smell anything after the first opening.
I think Chanel needs to hire you for PR management. 😊
Agreed! Rather poetical…
So poetic. I agree with Deva!
Enchanting description! If you don’t have your own perfume bog already, you should think about it. 🙂
Whoa!
All I got was powder.
Well done!
Lovely review.
Wow amazing description!
Beautiful description Happy888cat

Chai tea and homemade dal for breakfast
Your wedding perfume! Have a good day ltsg, enjoy a chai for me.😊
I will have an extra cup for you
Dang it, I forgot to rabbit. Hopefully one of you will have extras to share.
After enjoying Azemour les Oranges all day yesterday and sampling MDCI Chypre Palatin at bedtime last night, I checked fragrantica’s list of chypres and found OJ Woman on there, so that’s my SOTD. The list also contained Diorling, which I adore and had forgotten is in this week’s category, so I’ll hunt out my tiny decant of that for tomorrow. Happy Wednesday!
I did make an effort today, a poor effort, but an effort nonetheless, and went on Fragrantica as well but only made it to the C’s before I gave up and just sprayed what I wanted. 🤷🏻♀️
That list is LONG, for sure. And mostly brands I’ve never heard of.
You can have some of my rabbits! I always forget, but this morning I remembered and figured I should do some extras just in case
Oh, thank you very much!
Rabbit x 3 and happy May Day! My bottle of Guerlain Muguet is in transit and not accessible so I’m in SL Santal Majuscule. Going out to Holt Renfrew to sniff Comète with a fellow perfumista today. My expectations are low given the reviews, but it should be a fun outing nonetheless. At least it’s not pouring rain today like yesterday.
Do report back. I have a sample on the way.😀
Enjoy your outing and let us know your impressions.
Have fun sniffing!
Aww, that bunny is so cute!
I remembered my rabbits as I was getting in the shower this morning.
I’m in Abel Nurture. I really like this one and may even look at replacing it when my bottle is gone.
It’s another gorgeous one out there.🌞Looking forward to my lunchtime walk.😎
I remembered my rabbits for once too!
I did remember my rabbits this morning!
SOTD is Marc Jacobs Daisy.
I would like to pose my question again regarding Zara Leather Jardin. I see on Fragrantica that it is compared to Aramis. My father wore Aramis, and I loved it, but found it very masculine. Does this really smell like that? I know many of you say you plan to purchase it and before someone gets an enabler pin from me, I wanted a little more information. TIA.
Kris, I am sorry but I don’t have a comparison with Aramis. I can however say that it smells simply unisex, not masculin at all. If you have smelled Sisley Eau du Soir or EL Knowing, it is very reminiscent of them. Hope this helps!
Thanks. That does help.
I bought it …
I did too along with Fashionably London which some say is a dupe to Delina. We will see. At those prices I figured if I don’t like either of them that someone from here will gladly take them😉
Fashionably London was my favorite of the City line. To my nose it is more citrusy than Delina (more tart, less sweet) but definitely in the same ballpark
Tempted by Leather Jardin, but haven’t picked it up yet.
They are relatively cheap, so you need to get on the bandwagon. LOL.
Chypre day 3: Boucheron Pour Homme EDP, a glorious men’s chypre with so much honeyed oakmoss. Yet another of those things I bought without thinking twice — it could have been made just for me.
I do miss real oakmoss…
Twins with Robin, wearing vintage Diorissimo cologne.
here is my bottle if you wish to see.

Great choice – love those vintage bottles!
Oh pretty! I have a couple of the houndstooth bottles but not one like yours.
Very nice.
Because someone wore Ysatis yesterday, I was reminded that I have a ’90s bottle at the very back of my box of full bottles. I never realized that it is a chypre. I sprayed it twice only, because I remembered how strong it is. With newer fragrances I tend to spray arms, neck and chest, but there was no way I would do that with Ysatis.
Honestly most things I cannot take even 2 sprays. I am a wimp.
I do love Diorissimo! but I’m in a slightly edgier muguet today…Parfums Quartana’s Lily of the Valley.
Be well, everyone!
Hope all is good there Jessica!
Good to see you!
Hello all!
Got my 🐇🐇🐰 in at midnight, went to bed, then woke up at 5am for no reason. So now I’m getting up at 9:30am feeling like a thawed bag of peas.
I picked Muguet Porcelaine for May Day, gone but not forgotten.
Have a great day all!
Oh, that is not fair….rabbits should ensure good sleep!
You’d think so! It was the melatonin, I’m pretty sure. 4 solid hours, then up like a light.
I got a rueful chuckle from your phrase “feeling like a bag of thawed peas”! Been there. 🫛
I thought that was funny too.
I have a feeling most people have, unfortunately!
I am wearing a lily of the valley fragrance for May Day. It is Muguet Porcelaine created by perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena for the Hermes Hermessence line. It is my favorite lily of the valley, even over Diorissimo. But, I’ve only ever had a modern bottle of Diorissimo and I’m sure back in the 1950’s before perfume regulations it was the most beautiful thing ever, just like his dresses.
I watched The New Look on Apple TV+ the mini series about Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and I found the story lines referencing their perfumes interesting. It was very touching to learn why Miss Dior perfume got its name and the inspiration behind it.
I’m partial to Muguet Porcelaine over Diorissimo too. I couldn’t tell you why, though, and I’ve tried 80’s parfum, Cologne, and EdT.
(I found a houndstooth bottle of Diorissimo for a steal a million years ago and gave it to a special NSTer because I knew they’d appreciate every drop more than I do.)
Ignoring all this heresy, LOL…and I do like Muguet Porcelaine.
More for you! MP really was lovely. I’m sad it got the ax, but I think they keep regulating the muguet aromachemicals, one after the next.
What an adorably sad bunny. Makes you want to give it a nice big hug! 🐇
My sinuses have been a bit of an issue lately. I was going to wear Bottega Veneta today, but that can go just a bit sharp on me, so maybe tomorrow or Friday. Decided on FdD instead because it’s soft and cozy but still present. My bottle is half gone!
In other unimportant news, I was able to tour my campgrounds yesterday and get a look at my home for the next 5 months. It’s a sweet spot in a grove of mixed evergreen and deciduous trees, about 1/2 full sun 1/2 shade. It’s large with lots of room and privacy and at the back, a creek is running briskly. It’s a year round creek, so even in the summer it will still be tripping along. There’s plenty of room for the two trucks which will effectively block the view into my site by other campers. On the other side of the creek is a soaring wall of red, orange, and cream colored stone. It’s not on a through road so relatively little traffic goes by this campground. Absolutely no service in any of the campgrounds, and so I asked what their protocol is for campers who are experiencing a medical emergency..? Apparently, there is no protocol. I guess whoever they’re camping with will have to bundle them up in their car and tote the person somewhere…
As for me, it will be hard to go so long without wandering in the Realm of Damnation collecting demon hearts! Because I’m 13 and enjoy winding down by playing games, this will be a bit of a deprivation. And NST of course! That goes without saying. 😊
How far away is the nearest town? In case you need anything?
Maybe you can get a bunch if puzzle books. I hope you will post when you can.
I bought a bunch of physical books in anticipation of long evenings. I have about 10 in a line up. I’m about an hour from the nearest sizable town which is in Wyoming. There’s a small town pretty close but they don’t really have anything except a small market for milk and such. I’m anticipating having to drive up into Wyoming every couple of weeks for propane, groceries, and dog food. I can get water and empty my tanks here at the large campground (about 20 minutes away from my campground) on an as needed basis. Plus, they have showers! 🛁
The place sounds wonderful and very restorative, lack of gaming aside! 🙂
I’m looking forward to not knowing what’s going on in the news…🙃
That would be a plus! It sounds beautiful.
Sounds perfectly beautiful!
It is! I’m hoping for a good season!
Sounds wonderful, yet we will miss hearing from you frequently!!
I’m sure I’ll pop on when I’m in an area that has service. I hope I have no stories, just perfume news. I do have some deliveries coming Friday that I’m looking forward to playing with, including my BdI Parfum! 😊
It sounds idyllic, you will be missed but figure you will get used to the offline real world quickly.
Thanks, and looking forward to a break from world news. Ignorance is bliss. 🙉
Sounds lovely, if a but creepy having 0 reception.
Have you considered getting a Nintendo Switch? They’re so perfectly portable and lots of games don’t need online connection. I’ve more than gotten my initial investment out of mine in sheer hours of entertainment.
But coumarin, what did we do before cell phones existed? We survived! I have thought of a Switch but got so overwhelmed by game choices, I gave up, just like Ayn Rand’s sister. She visited from Russia and was so boggled about supermarket choices it supposedly gave her anxiety and she gladly returned to what was then the USSR…I may look into a switch again, though. Thanks for the suggestion. 😊
I understand! It can be overwhelming. But there are so many fantastic games (and I’m always happy to make a recommendation.)
Yes, recommendation please! And I will say I’m not a big gamer. The only one I ever got into was Diablo. There’s a long story behind my love for it but I’ll spare you. I’ve never really played much of anything else, which is probably why I was so overwhelmed. Thanks for any and all recommendations and hugs and kisses to Jicky!
Speaking of gaming, the novel Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevlin, which is about 2 college kids who create a game in 1994 that goes big, is a wonderful story about love of all kinds. I’m not a gamer but my son (a gamer) recc’d it and I loved it.
Sounds serene and beautiful. I have never read him myself but it may be time for me to start in Paul Auster books.
Yes, I’m not familiar with him either and no time like the present to rectify that!
Ugh, sinus troubles are not fun in the slightest.
I hope your next 5 months is everything you have been hoping for and more. You deserve it after the atrocious assignments you have had in the hospitals these past years. Keep in touch!
It’s promising to be very busy considering it’s part time, but that’s okay with me. And I’ll be on a normal sleep schedule..! Like a normal person!😃
Perle de Mousse – a chypre with lily of the valley, so it works for both the CP and May Day.
The ISP’s technician came in the morning, took our router and installed another one for testing. We will see whether internet is stable with this one.
I considered wearing Perle. A true green beauty of a perfume. You smell lovely!
I hope your internet works like a charm!
Nice–must find mine from the discovery set purchased ages ago.
That’s such a glamorous chypre. I loved that whole line.
Hope that your Internet is stable now!
I’m on my fifth day of wearing chypres (I started this weekend with Cristalle and L’Âme perdue). Today’s fruity chypre is the discontinued (?) Sous les Magnolias by Pierre Bourdon.
Joining the vintage Diorissimo crowd today – I’m in the sublime Esprit de Parfum version. It’s just heart-stoppingly beautiful.😊
Stunning, I too have a vintage bottle of the esprit.
Yesterday was Norell – what a beautiful Chypre! And I’ll start the day by joining Robin and pl67 in vintage Diorissimo and pivot to Scherrer this afternoon.
Fabulous trio of chypres…may join you in Scherrer.
Diorissssssssimo!!
Thank Mr. SP for me!
😀
Two lovely perfume picks today!
Enjoying everyone’s Diorissimo – you all smell fabulous! I did make a May Day Lily of the Valley bouquet, but chose lilac in Tocadilly for my May Day flower. I am thinking over whether I can say I have a favorite chypre, and whether I can pick one in a non-vintage version that checks all the boxes. That is my challenge for Friday. 😀
Why aren’t you wearing a vintage chypre for Friday? Just for grins?
Yes – and to reassure myself that fabulous perfumes are still available!
Found my mini of Phi une Rose de Kandahar and I am wearing that today. Today is my nephew’s 3rd birthday and my sister said he loves his gift. Too bad they live in California and I live in Ohio.
It must be so hard to live far away from them.
It’s a cool day for the start of May. Put on some of Pacifica’s pikake fragrance, but oddly enough am not feeling any warmer.
Tauer Carillon pour une Ange for me today. My lilies of the valley haven’t started blooming yet, sadly, so this is the next best thing I’ve got.
One of my favorite Tauers. You smell incredible.
Dang, forgot my rabbits because I woke up a little after midnight and realized my husband had not come to bed, so I HAD to go nag him to get to bed of course. 😛
I’m wearing Patchouli Patch today, it’s an old comforting favorite. I’m going through something slightly stressful at work and I’m feeling concerned about making any bad scent associations. I’m having to suddenly move from my office to a cubicle in another building. It’s very much first world problems, but I do get so attached to spaces and routines, and I’ve been in this building for almost 8 years.
Hope you will get used to the new place.
Hope the transition becomes easier. Welcome to office space downsizing.
Oh darn, I totally get it about moving from your office to a different space. Good luck. I hope you can make it feel like “home” soon.
Hope your office move is uneventful.
You smell marvellous, tulipani. I love Patchouli Patch.
Such a sweet bunny!
I remembered my rabbits in the middle of the night.
Post shower I am going with Fenty. It has a blueberry note that says springtime to me.
Interview today. Fingers crossed.
🤞🤞(no emoji for crosses toes, but my little stubbies are crossed too!)
🤞🤞‼️
🤞🤞🤞!
Probably too late but beaming loads of luck and good vibes your way, Apsara.
Everything is crossed for you!😊
It’s been a sad week as my beloved dog Sprocket died. He was 14. He was a once in a lifetime dog, had incredible emotional intelligence and was very complicated. Always at my side, day and night, and was a bit of a talker ( barking, or groaning contently, or nudging me for treats or action). Loathed other dogs, hated them. He was a NZ Heading Dog which is bred from a border collie but short hair, a good eye, for getting sheep in and keeping them under control. He was an immense comfort to me, very gentle. We used to go on amazing walks over the hills and he would always look back, or up at me as if wanting to make sure I loved it as much as him. I always did love it. He was magic. Anyway, just a big, silent hollow space now. I was wearing Shalimar when he died ( he went downhill very fast, probably kidney failure) and that perfume seems like a good tribute to an exceptional friend.
Oh, I’m so sorry! RIP Sprocket baby! 💔
Sending perfumed hugs.
Sorry, hope the good memories will bring you comfort. In time you may feel ready to adopt again.
He sounds like an incredible dog.
Oh no, Kanuka, I am so very sorry to hear about your sad loss of your beautiful dog. What an amazing creature he must have been. Despite being the devoted cat lover that I am, I truly believe it’s harder to lose a dog. They are more interactive and involved in your life, and besides, generally more likely to go places with you, giving more shared memories. I hope your grieving will be countered by some of the many good memories you have mentioned here.
I’m so sorry. Losing a dog, especially such a wonderful one, is tough.
Dogs are such great friends but sadly rather short lived.
I’m so sorry.
I’m so sorry to hear about Sprocket, that’s a sad loss.
RIP Sprocket. He sounded like a wonderful dog. I’m sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry to hear about Sprocket. It is heartbreaking. Sending comforting hugs.
Oh Kanuka, I am so sorry about Sprocket. They fill us with so much love and joy while they are here, but when they go it leaves such a big hole of grief. I hope that, in time, your memories of him will bring you joy to fill up that space again. Until then, sending you hugs
Oh, so sorry to hear about your loss!
I am so sorry to hear about Sprocket. Losing a friend like that is so difficult. Hugs.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Oh Kanuka, I have tears in my eyes, your words about him are so beautiful. I am so sorry for your loss.
I am very sorry about Sprocket, you spoke lovely of him, he seemed greatly loved.
Kanuka, I’m so sorry that Sprocket has left you for the 🌈 Bridge. My heart goes out to you, since I know that huge silence when our beloved companions leave us. Sending you hugs for healing from your loss. ❤️
So sorry to hear that your bestest dog Sprocket is gone, Kanuka. That hurts like nothing else.
So sorry to hear about your dear dog. Hugs coming your way.
Sending you lots of hugs, kanuka. What a wonderful friend you had there, I’m so sorry for your loss.
So sorry, Kanuka, they are gentle and loyal spirits and we miss them so much when they go. I had to look up NZ heading dogs. Beautiful!
I’m so sorry, Kanuka. He sounds like an amazing dog, a friend and companion. I’m sending you big hugs for your loss.
I am so sorry for your loss, Kanuka. I looked up the NZ Heading dog and then I could picture the two of you on those long walks. Those eyes! Those ears! What a sweetheart and true companion.
Frozen mango, juice of a lemon and yogurt
I received my order of a new bag, £29, 80% off, it’s tan leather but surprised that it is much bigger than anticipated. It’s a tote and as I have no leather tote, I am pleased how it turned out.
I was in AdP Arancia di Capri from my new bottle but it’s been on my list for a long time and tonight for the CP AdP Profumo which is my favorite modern chypre, half the bottle is gone but I have a bub, now discontinued, I guess it didn’t sell too well, it was rather expensive for the time.
Joining many others in vintage Diorissimo today. I have a partial bottle and usually wear it only on this day. I no longer have my Coty Muguet des Bois, which my mother and I both loved back in the day.
I never remember that 🐇🐇🐇!
One of my friends adores Coty Muguet des Bois. She got a bottle of it a few years back (not from me, surprisingly) and was very pleased.
Hmm, that’s good to know. I was afraid that I would be disappointed in the newer ones, but maybe not. Will have to take a look!
I have no idea if she still has that bottle, or if she used it all up.
Hello!
How is everyone doing? I am taking a bit of a break and thought I would post:) It’s super bright and sunny out..typing this in the glare lol. But the sun feels great:). Commando but probably a spray of a honey body spray later. Will read posts a bit later.
Hope everyone is doing well 🌹
Happy May Day!
I’m in Neroli Mediterraneo from Perris.
Haven’t tried that one, but I really enjoy the Perris line. Not easy to find here in Texas, sadly.
SOTD = Lorenzo Pazzaglia Sun-gria Extrait
Do YOU need to ask me why this perfume is special to me? Just look at the bottle! Owl! Who can resist that? Anyway, I would have bought it anyway just for the bottle, and the bonus is the juice is wonderful!
https://www.instagram.com/p/C6b3UijRB26/?igsh=MTI3c3VtZ21laTJuNQ==
jalapeño’s post about reconnecting with a cousin reminded me of something I meant to post earlier. Every years, at least in the U.S., we have elections that matter more than any other intervening year. My family is huge, or perhaps I should say, YUGE, and therefore, it is inevitable that we would come out on either side of the political divide. We do try to self-regulate but I am seeing signs of that discipline fraying. Please pray for our sake that none of us takes it too “seriously” (I know it IS a serious matter).
Oh yes, I have 3 sets of rabbits to give away. Yours for the taking!
I’ll take a set! Thanks!
Enjoy 🤩
Not only does that bottle have an owl, but that’s a rather groovy psychedelic pattern on that label. Far out! 🦉
It is so beautiful. What I originally thought as random stained glass pattern are actually artful melding of colorful fruits and other notes!
That is a very cool bottle.
Thank you. It was an easy choice!
That bottle is made for you!
I think so too!
Beautiful bottle!
I feel you on the stress of keeping politics out of family discussions. Mr. Vee’s mom is planning a big family reunion for this summer and this is her number one concern.
All you LOTV-wearing people smell great!
I have a bottle of vintage Diorissimo, and I think it has finally gone off completely. It smelled distinctly like urine the last time I tried to wear it a few days ago. 🙁
Wearing MPG Cuir Fetiche today, which is nice in a whole different way.
Aw, that’s a bummer about your Diorissimo.
Diptyque Philosykos EdP. I don’t have the EdT at hand, and I wonder which one I prefer.
Happy May Day!
I’m wearing my latest purchase, Emanuel Ungaro’s Diva.
How is the current version?
Moon Moss today, yesterday and Monday. Don’t think it qualifies as a chypre but it sure smells great!
I love the name, Moon Moss
Such an evocative name, Moon Moss.
House twins with many people today, in Diorling. I konw it is a leather frag, but my brain only processes thefabulous take-no-💩-from-anyone green notes.
Tea today is a mix of chocolate chai and coconut black tea.
Diorling is amazing. I was blown away the first time I tried my teeny sample.
I rabbited this morning – yay!
I’ll go ahead and join the Diorissimo club for this beautiful spring day.
Hiya scent twin!
Hey there!
I am wearing Moon Jasmine from a swap with therabbitsflower and eating Keebler’s version of the Girl Scouts Thin Mints. They’re good!
Cookies sound delish! How is your knee doing?
Cookies are delish! My knee is not doing as well as I had hoped. I think there is arthritis in there, but the soft tissue swelling and pain is gone.
I’m glad the swelling and pain have diminished. If you haven’t yet, you might think about getting an MRI to make sure there’s no tendon or ligament injury/tear. They take longer to heal than a bony fracture and sometimes a partial tear can progress to something more serious. Just food for thought!
I’m certain there is no ligament/tendon damage. I will be 70 next birthday and body parts randomly hurt off and on…
They are good! Grasshoppers right?
Yes, they used to be Grasshoppers, but the store shelf said something about a new name and now they are called Fudge Mint Delights. Probably “Grasshopper” is trademarked by somebody.
Are things working out all right for your daughter at school?
I am a huge fan of those Thin Mints..and if I can find some cookies that are like them, I am all over it!
Chanel Cuir de Russie on my birthday.
I just gave myself a few squirts before leaving for dinner tonight.
Happy birthday! You smell classy!
Happy Scented Birthday, Barqs! 🎉🎁🎂
Happy birthday, Barqs. Mine is coming up shortly!
Happy Birthday!🎂
Happy Birthday! 🎂
Happy birthday, Barqs!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday! Great perfume choice – so elegant.
Happy Birthday Barqs!
Happy birthday to you! Smelling fantastic!
Happy Birthday! Hope you have a lovely dinner. And dessert! 🎂
You are smelling glorious on your birthday! I hope your dinner is a wonderful celebration💐🥂
Thank you for the birthday wishes ! It was a good day 🙂
ps. I had chocolate cheesecake with a candle in it for dessert !
Happy birthday! 🎂
I’m off schedule today because I had a very early dental appointment and am NOT a morning person. Then since I was partway there I went to visit Mom. Fortunately she was having a pretty good day and was smiling and happy to see me. I am lucky that we found a nice place with very kind caregivers. They have a young man there on the team and he was giving some of the ladies manicures this morning. So sweet.
So I was commando until lunchtime and then I sprayed on Zoologist Sacred Scarab which turned up on the Fragrantica list of chypres. It has a lot of the requisite components but on some lists it says bergamot and on others it says lemon. Not sure if that matters. It’s definitely an old school powerhouse. I am finding some note in it a bit sour today but can’t identify what it is.
My neighbor is growing some plants in big pots out in her courtyard and is doing well with some tomatoes and eggplants. I took the opportunity to rub the tomato leaves between my fingers and huff in the lovely sharp scent. I like it but not in my perfume thank you! Still waiting for the big gardenia bush to open its many buds.
Happy to hear that your Mom had a good day when you dropped in. 🩷
🐇🐇🐇! Said it only once today, after asking Teflon kitty to let me up. The way she sleeps with me on the bed usually means that I am pinned down in some way or another. 😽
It’s a very windy day here again. Yesterday, the Amber Alert/Traffic Alert signs on the Interstate were warning high profile and light vehicles about high wind. Well duh! I was getting shoved around in my ride, so I knew about it already.
SOTD = vintage Diorissimo EdT, from the Sample Stash. I’m twins with quite a few people here today. It seems that lilac notes and LOTV don’t stick around as long in the dry Colorado air as they did in the humidity of NJ.
That wind today is outrageous! My truck is doing a dance while parked. No way I’d be driving anywhere today. 💨🌬️💨
I’m glad I didn’t go anywhere today. Looks like a big front is moving in/thru here. Temps have been falling all afternoon.
Yes, chance of snow here over the next few days. 🙄
Gotta love springtime in the Rockies!
👍 on the perfume … the winds, not so good!
Eh. Wind is part of living along the Front Range. At least I didn’t have to worry about Red Flag Warnings today!
It’s funny how perfume acts depending on the weather. I guess the humidity helps it stick to skin?
I think humidity actually helps the scent molecules get to your nose. But this is speculation on my part.
There are some smells that I have no problem with here, like a skunk! Pee-yew! 🦨
Smelling fantastic in Cristalle EDT today. Had a terrible night of sleep last night and a big workload today (and the rest of this week and next) but at least I smell great. Oh, and it’s a beautiful day. I’m thankful to have a little balcony I can step out in for little breaks and fresh air every now and then.
Hope you sleep well tonight!
Thank you!
I forgot my rabbits this morning.
I had planned on wearing LOTV with Jessica McClintock but then the school called me to come get my daughter again so I picked Ysatis ( because JM is too care free smelling for my mood)
I’m on work lunch now and eating a chocolate chip pancake Pop Tart. It’s delicious. Which reminds me that sometime this week I am going to watch the new Jerry Seinfeld movie Unfrosted on Netflix. I’m really looking forward to it.
Oh, I’m sorry to hear about the kiddo. I hope things improve. I can’t imagine the stress brought on by children in todays world. I didn’t know about the Seinfeld movie! Sounds right up my alley.😁
Thanks Deva. My personal opinion is she has spring fever. However.. she’s grounded for her behavior. Tomorrow is my day off and I hopefully will watch it tomorrow.
Wishing you and your girl a peaceful day. I too am a JM fan, and I’ve compared the vintage and the modern. I agree both smell good. Of course my modern one is probably more than 5 years old!
You were smelling lovely in JM, but I totally understand the switch to something more powerful!
Both perfumes are in my top ten. Different scents for different moods.
Is your Jessica McClintock vintage?
Sorry to hear about your daughter.
It’s not vintage as far as I know, but this is my 4th bottle since the 90’s and I have never noticed a difference.
Lillyjo, I just saw this. I am so sorry that your daughter is having school problems. I hope there is a good resolution on the horizon.
Oy about your daughter and wearing a stronger perfume hopefully helped.
Chiming in late to say I’m awash in vintage Diorella, a fruity chypre and one of my faves of that era. I am not a LOTV fan so no Diorissimo for me. But this one has always embraced me. Lillyjo I hope your daughter finds a peaceful creative way to thrive in school. It’s so hard being that age, today more than ever.
Vintage Diorella!! Very nice.
