The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 4 March 2024 7 Comments

On the one hand I am mostly feeling done with oud, on the other, Lush's new Oudhess shower gel sounds really good: "Mubarak! It's time to celebrate Eid. Jump into festivities feeling fresh with this opulent shower gel. Precious and rare oudh oil brings a dark, woody aroma that blends with the heady florals of jasmine absolute and rose, while osmanthus is perfect for awakening the senses after Ramadan, with its ripe peach scent." Limited edition, in 3 sizes $12.50-40.

I actually just finished an oud shower gel. It was Molton Brown Mesmerizing Oudh. It was really good! The first half of the bottle, I mostly got an oud leather scent. The second half allowed the honeyed resins and spices to come through more.

The Lush does sound intriguing, but I think I have too big a shower gel backlog right now to buy any more. I did just put a fresh bottle of Lush Grass in my shower.

I am the opposite…I have used up several bottles and have replaced one or two, but have not had a brand new smell in the shower in ages. And I do like a choice in the morning 🙂

Oh yeah, definitely time for you to find a few new scents then! Do let us know if you try this one.

Currently, my only shower gel regulars on hand are small bottles of Rose Jam and Lord of Misrule, the latter of which will be saved for fall/winter. All the rest of my backlog are new to me. Although I did use Grass once many years ago.

Definitely want to hear your thoughts on this! I’m tempted to blind buy the small size in this, since the closest LUSH store to me is not an easy drive anymore.

I’m all in on this, smelling it (and probably buying this afternoon). Unlike Robin I’m never tired of Oud as it’s my favorite scent. So if it’s definitely Oud I’ll be purchasing. I see they also have a “new” Easter shower gel called Golden Egg. Umm, it just looks like renamed YogNog to me.
