Jardins D’Ecrivains Morris ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 28 February 2024 6 Comments

French niche line Jardins D’Écrivains has launched Morris, a new unisex fragrance inspired by William Morris.

The protean universe of William Morris inspires this perfume, borrowed from fantasy literature. A spicy freshness transgresses the senses, and takes on a Pre-Raphaelite allure. The trail leaves the skin with the roar of an anthological wintergreen.

Additional notes include lime, bergamot, elemi, grapefruit, ginger, pink pepper, cedar and sandalwood.

Jardins D’Écrivains Morris is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, €90.

      Yeah, that is seriously precious.

Also found it odd, given that he is now much better known for his design work than for his writing, that they did not list a single piece of his written work as an inspiration.

Wtf is “anthological” wintergreen, or “anthological” anything, for that matter?

I had never heard the word, but it does exist as an adjective. Anthological wintergreen, that is a separate matter 🙂

Yep. Total fail for me. Plus, wintergreen is one of my smell enemies. 👎🏻

The poor man must be turning in his grave! I have been to William Morris’s former home in Walthamstow, London, now a museum celebrating his work specifically & touching on the Arts & Crafts Movement in general – absolutely gorgeous, extremely interesting & I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting the London area.
