Chanel will launch Comète, a new addition to the Les Exclusifs collection. The name echoes a motif from the brand's 1932 high jewelry collection (repeated in the more recent Comète jewelry collection), and is also used in the more recently formed Comète Collective initiative under Chanel Beauty.
“I wanted to cover women in constellations,” said Gabrielle Chanel in 1932.
Comète was developed by Chanel house perfumer Oliver Polge, who noted that his starting inspiration was a 1932 Comète pendant and the idea of stardust. The notes for the 'intense floral' include cherry blossoms, heliotrope, iris and musk.
Chanel Comète will probably be available in 75 and 200 ml Eau de Parfum.

Sounds lovely but the Exclusifs are so out off my budget. They’ll probably be $500 by the time I get to try this one.
Also will call this one Comte for the foreseeable future.
I should have bought a couple of them when they first came out (La Pausa!) but if I wouldn’t pay for them then, I’m certainly not paying for them now 🙂
They were such a great price on launch, in retrospect. Not that many people need 200ml of anything.
La Pausa is lovely but I think there are better options. I’ve been really enjoying my sample of Le Cri by Parfum d’Empire, should you ever stumble upon it.
I adore La Pausa! I also keep regretting not buying it sooner with every price increase.
I hope the prices stay as they were-this went from being a semi affordable hobby to what are they thinking prices. I love heliotrope.
I don’t think they’re worth the price already…
agreed 🙂
😱😱😱
I’m really not trying to enable but you should at least smell it!
I see a purchase in your future🤣Let us know how it smells.
For anyone traveling in (or have friends traveling through) Japan – the exclusives line is well underpriced at the moment in airport duty free. In Japan last month the 70ml bottles were ¥23,500 ($157 USD). Picked up a few to refill my collection. The Chanel airport boutiques are stunning! Quite a steal compared to regular US prices
There’s a 70ml format?
Sorry meant 75ml
This is a first impression, but I found this smelled like Guerlain’s Après L’Ondée on white musk steroids. All the familiar notes are there. Maybe less iris and more almond – a benzaldehyde (“marzipan”) opening. Nice, but not very inventive … When I smell a bitter almond note in perfumes, I always think that is so lazy, as it’s makes a strong statement everyone is familiar with, but it also cheap. I imagine it must be one of the cheapest scent molecules you can use.
