Donna Karan has launched the Cashmere Collection, with four new fragrances: Cashmere & Palo Santo, Cashmere & Tiare Flower, Cashmere & Tunisian Neroli and Cashmere & Wild Fig.
Cashmere & Palo Santo (shown above left) ~ "Cashmere & Palo Santo is an addicting amber woody fragrance inspired by the layers of a woman. Opening to mouth-watering golden peach, the scent unfolds into a warm and addictive blend of Labdanum and sensual Cashmere Woods, creating a distinctive signature. The unique woody facets of Palo Santo arise from the base, adding an extra touch of allure to this captivating scent." Additional notes include vanilla. [Update: "I wanted to push the addictive warmth that makes Cashmere Mist so iconic while taking it in a slightly different direction by adding a unique woody element with palo santo as the star." – Jérôme Epinette, Perfumer.]
Cashmere & Tiare Flower (shown above right) ~ "Cashmere & Tiare Flower is a modern solar floral fragrance inspired by the layers of a woman. The fragrance embodies joyful sophistication as it plays on the juxtaposition of tropical freshness, gentle floralcy, and ambery woodiness. The scent radiates as it opens with notes of sun-drenched Bergamot and sweet Lemon. As the fragrance unfolds, Tiare Flower captivates blending to a unique sweet and creamy character. The cocooning warmth of vetiver creates a magnificent, ambery cashmere conclusion." [Update: "This is a modern solar floral composition where the warm and cocooning amber highlights the cashmere comfort, while Vetiver adds a sophisticated mineral woody facet to the fragrance. This confident and memorable signature brings newness to the Donna Karan brand through an enchanting solar floral twist." – Jacques Huclier & Nathalie Cetto, Perfumers. Additional notes include mandarin, pear, jasmine, ashoka flower, cedar, ambrofix and vanillin.]
Cashmere & Tunisian Neroli (shown below) ~ "Cashmere & Tunisian Neroli is a bright citrus floral fragrance inspired by the layers of a woman. The fragrance opens with a lively burst of citrus, invigorating the senses with its fresh and zesty aroma. As it blooms, a luminous bouquet of Tunisian Neroli emerges, weaving a complex tapestry of depth and character. Finally, the fragrance settles into a soft and balanced finish led by cedarwood, leaving a gentle and lasting impression." Additional notes include bergamot. [Update: "I wanted to create something that took Cashmere Mist to a more luminous, floral place, which is how I arrived at the blooming neroli." – Jérôme Epinette, Perfumer. Additional notes include bergamot, yuzu, petitgrain, lavender and ambroxan.]
Cashmere & Wild Fig (not shown) ~ "Cashmere & Wild Fig is a fresh woody floral fragrance inspired by the layers of a woman. At the forefront, black pepper and bergamot intertwine with freesia and rose, creating a fresh floral essence that is prominent at the outset. Upon delving in, an undercurrent of warmth emanates from notes of Wild Fig and Bamboo. The dry-down is firmly rooted in nature, featuring a harmonious fusion of earthy, musky, mineral, and salty notes that culminate in a truly unexpected olfactory experience." Additional notes include cedar. [Update: "How to create something unexpected and somehow rooted in nature – this was the goal. Black Pepper on top brings some zest while the wild fig and bamboo in the heart introduce the comforting nature-driven signature." – Jérôme Epinette, Perfumer. Additional notes include waterlily, rose, salted musks and wet stones accord.]
Donna Karan Cashmere & Palo Santo, Cashmere & Tiare Flower, Cashmere & Tunisian Neroli and Cashmere & Wild Fig are $150 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

So, I gather they’re all inspired by the layers of a woman…inspired by the layers of a woman…
Women are layered 😉
Interestingly, they told WWD the fragrances are not to be actually layered…
I’ve always love Cashmere. The version with Palo Santo is the one I’d most like to try.
If you mean Cashmere Mist (or Black Cashmere), they are also saying these are not flankers.
Not flankers, huh? In that case, WTF, marketing people? There are more words in the English language for “very soft and very expensive”. Hire someone who knows how to use a thesaurus. Ugh. Sorry to be cranky.. LOL
Well, the marketing people aren’t being consistent since the perfumers quoted in the updates above make them sound an awful lot like flankers!!
Yikes I did! No kidding, now they’re just trying to deliberately confuse people.
I think they want just enough brand identification and not too much? So they’re not “cashmere mist & wild fig”. And don’t forget that Black Cashmere had nothing to do with Cashmere Mist, which came first. There was also a “Pure Cashmere” but if I ever smelled it I don’t remember.
And some line called liquid cashmere.
Black Cashmere is the only one that works for me.
My Hubble loves Cashmere. To my nose it is sorta meh. I be happy to try these, see if there is one that leases both our noses…
See my note to Kelly Red!
When I was consulting at the big house of fragrance and beauty about 2 years ago, they sold the DKNY fragrance and spun it off.
So, I see this as good news and interesting and hopefully better fragrances.
The Palo Santo one interests me also. I pulled the trigger on Black Cashmere on ebay, so have to hold off on this one.
The bottles look like Sisley Fragrances.
I don’t know who owns the brand names, but Interparfums has the license for both Donna Karan and DKNY fragrances. Before 2021, they were with Estee Lauder.
