Niche line Byredo has introduced Animalique, a new unisex fragrance.
Animalique plugs into the common element in all humanity: our authentic essence and primal instincts. The feeling of euphoric dancing under disco lights, of biological, illogical attraction, of being carried away by the great sweep of vibration.
Fresh top notes of lemon and bergamot give way to a warm floral heart of mimosa and violet, before the fragrance takes its final plunge into the feral atmosphere of suede, amber and tobacco leaf.
A scent in which inhibition shatters, Animalique is an ode to the many-selved you that is always, forever, a story unfolding.

“I aimed to delve into the shared factor among all humans: our authentic essence and primal instincts. It's the concept that a spirit animal resides beneath the intricate layers of our truest selves.” - Ben Gorham, Founder & Creative Director, Byredo
Additional notes include sandalwood.
Byredo Animalique is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Ah, jeeze louise. I think I’m just too old to want to delve into primal instincts.
The name made me think of Tar-get vs. Tar-jay 🤣
“It’s ‘BOUQUET’ dahling” 😂
Love this comment! 🥰 +1
Ha!
It seems like Byredo and D S& Durga are in a new release competition.
And a competition to see who can be more derivative of already-existing concepts.
Yes!!
This would be perfect for this week’s Community Project!
It would, but not going to buy it for that, LOL…
Holy florid prose Batman!
These notes don’t sound animal at all! I like the pretty art design, though.
I’m kind of bored with the notes, actually.
When I read Byredo I know it’s gonna be mild and mellow, as in boring. For sure no animalic scent here. This brand never reached me, even though they try hard with their emotional story telling.
I was ready to say something about my nose at this point rejecting old style high musky scents, based on the name, but looks like the animals they are thinking of are My Kitty shelf figurines or something…
The notes don’t sound that raunchy, but I will go and test it, cos it’s already released here in Australia
I went and smelt Animalique today at Mecca (a sort of Australian Sephora, and official stockists of Byredo, MFK, Frederic Malle, etc) at the Bondi Westfield, and I report back saddened and annoyed.
I just smell cold suede.
“… the fragrance takes its final plunge into the feral atmosphere of suede, amber and tobacco leaf.”
FERAL, MY FOOT!!!
Hmm, cold suede sounds okay to me… will give it a sniff, thanks for the report.
