Diptyque’s holiday collection for 2023 once again features three candles. This year's theme: Flame. This year's models: Sapin (Pine Tree), Délice (Delight, with dried fruit and vanilla) and Coton (Cotton, with tonka bean) candle.
All three are available in 70g (small; $50) and 190g (classic; $86) sizes or in a coffret of 3 x 70g. The Sapin fragrance is also available in a 50 ml home spray ($50).
More limited edition home fragrance items include...
...scented "dinner" candles in Baies, Ambre and Feu de Bois (the price is listed as $110 but I am not sure if that is for the set, or more likely, each).
The Murano glass reed diffuser, $445.
This year's Carousel and candle set (at left; $158) and Lantern and candle set (at right; $168).
A Ray ornament for the small and classic candles (shown above left and right; $165) and a Ray stand for the classic candles (above center, $390).
A scented wax centerpiece, unfortunately I do not yet have the scent(s) or the price.
Among the many items not shown: the Baies candle in 5kg (giant with 9 wicks; $990) and the Ambre candle in 600g (large; $265).
I was feeling pretty good when I thought this post was all about candles, and then I looked further …
The notes sound good though and I imagine these are some of the more common but delightful scents!
My sentiments exactly!
What are you hankering after? I am surprisingly not all that interested in any of it this year…although those tapers do look cool.
If I end up buying, it will be the coffret.
Same here.
Think I’m gonna skip them this year.
I usually skip them, but I usually mind more 🙂
I’m so disappointed that the owners of Diptyque are on the bandwagon with advertising Christmas merchandise before September is over. Makes me cringe.
However, the traditional candles are beautifully done!
To be clear, I don’t think they are advertising them anywhere at this time. They have just made the press materials available. I think they have to release the holiday press materials earlier because of the heavy competition for advent calendars…those articles started appearing a few weeks ago.
Oh! Thanks for explaining this, Robin. Now I can go back to loving Diptyque. 😄
Have we seen any advent calenders as yet?
Yves Rocher already has theirs out on display!
I’ve been seeing ads for Advent calendars on my FB feed. I know I’ve seen the Body Shop calendars, as well as advent calendars for tea, jigsaw puzzles, and other things.
Not perfume, but Vosges Chocolate has been promoting their Advent Calendar via email this week.
Tons, all the major players.
They’re an obvious candidate for Xmas creep, because many people are just going to buy one brand, and they want to be sure they get it before it sells out. So if the brand waits too long, people have already got one lined up for the year, and if the customer waits too long, they can’t get the one they want. So Diptyque’s is already up for pre-order in many countries (not sure about US), delivery in November. In the UK it’s £390.
And to be fair, you need to have your advent calendars almost a month before Christmas, so advertising an advent calendar now is about like advertising regular Christmas gift items in late October.
I saw the Body Shop Advent calendar in the store today as I passed. It felt too early.
