Guerlain has launched Shalimar Millésime Iris, a new fragrance for women. Shalimar Millésime Iris is a limited edition flanker to 1925's Shalimar, and follows 2020's Shalimar Philtre de Parfum, 2021's Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia and 2022's Shalimar Millésime Tonka.
As a declaration of love and a celebration of the incredible inspiration behind Shalimar’s legendary fragrance, Iris Millésime puts iris centre stage with a scent that follows in the fragrant footsteps of Shalimar’s previous Millésimes. Intimately seductive and sensual, with this new composition, Guerlain’s Maison Perfumers have created a fragrant caress. As soon as it touches the skin, iris brings hints of powder to the characteristically fresh bergamot usually found in Shalimar and Guerlinade. Set alongside rose and white musk, it reveals its jewel-like facets and characteristic olfactory complexity to display floral, velvety notes that feel dreamily sensual on the body.
"Shalimar is the fragrance of sensuality. This Millésime, composed around iris, reveals such sensuality on the skin that it reminds me of silk’s softness." Delphine Jelk, Guerlain Perfumer
Guerlain Shalimar Millésime Iris is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $135.

LALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU LA LA
LOL! 😀
ditto…hah
No version of Shalimar has ever, ever worked on me – and yet I yearn to try this iris-based version.
Have you tried Philtre? I find it the easiest to wear, of the recent flankers.
It’s not bad, but still didn’t quite work
I am with you Annie. I have never been a Shalimar person either, but for some reason this one is calling me.
Well, apparently now I will have a bottle — happy to share a small decant with you to sample. I’m on your side of the border next month…
@ ockeghem, what , for me? oh goodness that’s too nice! We can can talk…
*sighs and unzips wallet*
I missed out on Shalimar MVP 2 years ago, fell in love with it thanks to the NST family (madtowngirl specifically) and ended up paying more than I wanted to for a bottle on the secondhand market.
Will I be making the same mistake again this year? Surely not! I hate that limited edition things make us spend quickly but the Guerlain limited editions are easy to rehome, at the very least.
Ditto everything you said! I don’t see it on the website yet though…
I heard that it hits shelves in October, will keep an eye out!
If you go to the website and search on “millesime” you’ll find it. They’re not featuring it, but I just found it that way on both U.S. and Canadian sites.
thanks for the tip!!
Done and done. Thank you!
*Sigh*
It’s available on the US Guerlain website now.
Does anyone have experience with how to get this, esp. in Canada (though I can also order online in the U.S.)?
I just stopped by my local Holt’s and asked, and they said they had been given 10 bottles and only had 4 left, and were taking names for their list. But there’s nothing to sniff, and I hate to buy unsniffed…do I just have to take the plunge and order it unsniffed to be able to sniff it at all?
I liked MVP, and Shalimar’s not awful on me but it’s also not quite my thing. Iris makes me consider seriously, tho.
Great detective work! It’s too bad that it’s such a holy grail each year and almost impossible for us Canadians to get.
If you get it, I hope you love it.
Well, I just bit the bullet and bought it off the website unsniffed. If I hate it, I feel like someone will love it and want it?
Well, I googled it and came across it too! I was shocked to see it there; purchased it too 😀!
Hopefully we will both smell fantastic in less than a week. 😀
Yes!
You guys are pushing me over the edge!
Sorry, lillyjo! I was quite surprised to see it; didn’t think twice about it.
If it makes you feel better, we got a deal compared to the US site — going for $135 on the US site, but the CAD 150 we spent is currently equal to US 110. 🙂
Enabler pins to you both!
Can anyone tell me if the last two LE had ambroxan in them?
If they did, then this one probably does and I can quit thinking about it.
Nevermind… I will find out when it arrives. Lol!
Even if they did, it is not noticeable, at least to me!
I bought the Tonka one last year and have a small MVP decant. That’s enough for me, especially since I sometimes struggle with Iris.
I have both the Tonka and MVP and love both. Love iris, too. Have just gone on the website and searching for Millesime works, as ockegham said. Just bought and one of the freebies is Tobacco Honey!
Following this thread with a great deal of amusement.
Shalimar hasn’t worked on me at all, either. Hope that everyone who gets a bottle enjoys it!
I’m with you. It hasn’t worked for me either. I wanted to order it so bad, but not sure it would be any different for me. I have four iris scents I love so think I’ll be satisfied with those. Money saved.
Would’ve loved a NST review of this.
