Niche line Arquiste has launched L'Or de Louis, a new unisex fragrance. Like the now-discontinued* 2011 fragrance Fleur de Louis, L'Or de Louis centers on orange blossom.
An opulent formula including 24 karat gold, transporting you to the Palace of Versailles at its apex. L'OR DE LOUIS evokes the moments when Louis XIV and his Court would visit the Grand Orangery to delight in the flowering orange trees warmed by bonfires. A bright orange blossom with a warm, woody background, including notes of orange blossom absolute, pomegranate, honey and firewood smoke.

April 1687, The Orangery, Versailles. More than a thousand Mediterranean trees are housed in the cathedral-like galleries of the Orangery. Built by the King’s architect to impress courtiers, the tree-lined space became a theatrical setting to entertain the Court. Inside, the gardeners would build bonfires to keep the trees warm so when the Sun King visited, the heady scent of firewood blended with his beloved orange blossoms would emit a generous golden aura.
L'Or de Louis was developed by perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, who also did Fleur de Louis. Additional notes include bergamot, jasmine, orris, musk, cedar, cade and Oislet de Chypre (a resinous accord dating from the 17th century).
Arquiste L'Or de Louis is $245 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.
*I think it is discontinued but I am not 100% sure.

Sounds good!
It does. I know I smelled Fleur de Louis but honestly can’t remember it.
Fancy! although maybe not a whole lot more than the rest of the non-sparkly line
It’s $40 fancier than the last one 🙂
I am mainly interested in the image of the “cathedral like orange”! Those old French kings sure knew how to spend money!
Sounds pleasant but the price is outrageous.
