It’s Friday and National Junk Food Day. (Birthdays: Robin Williams, Ernest Hemingway, Cat Stevens). Update: RIP Tony Bennett. Our community project for today: wear something beachy, or anything you think of as "a vacation in a bottle". (This is a repeat from 2014).
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm in Guerlain Terracotta Le Parfum to match the island beach shown above.
Reminder: on 7/28, we're off to Africa! Wear a perfume that is named for a place in Africa, or that reminds you of a (real or imaginary) trip to Africa, or that features an African ingredient, or ? Modified from a suggestion by JB.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2023, where I'll try (but usually fail) to have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Fraternal twins with Robin in Guerlain Terracotta Voile d’Ete, the beachiest thing I own — it smells like sun-kissed skin slathered in seventies-era Coppertone tanning lotion.
We do smell great!
You and Robin smell very beachy 🏖️
Love the picture and the scent.
I am in Creed Virgin Island Water. Maybe it is not exactly a beach scent, but it is a “beach vacation in a bottle” scent for me.
Doesn’t that beach look gorgeous?
Carnal flower
Someone mentioned it yesterday and I thought it would be perfect for the rainy day
My pick would have been Songes , but decided this one instead.
Looks like we’ve got a rainy day too.
Alas the sun has come out full force
You smell divine!
You smell lovely, LTSG!
Always a good scent anytime!
I agree. I wonder- why don’t I wear this more often??!
You smell marvelous LTSG!
Long time no “see”
Great to be here! 🙂
Hey, SmokeyToes, nice to see you back! 👋🏻
Finishing out my week of colorful, beachy perfumes, I’m smelling like Red Zinger tea in Omnia Coral. I found the shell-like 30ml bottle in a resale shop for $6, so I was very glad to try it. It’s too tart and cedar-clean to ever be a favorite, but I like the musk and floral parts. I could see taking it to the beach, as I think it is cheerful and inoffensive.
Omnia Coral is the only one of the Omnia series that I have a travel spray of.
I love Omnia Coral in the summer but, opposite from you, it’s the tart and cedar-clean notes I really enjoy. In addition to my makeup colors and fragrances that I change with the seasons, I also change the colors of the clothes I wear and coral is a favorite summer color for me, so Omnia Coral is one I often wear in harmony with the clothes I wear.
I’m on vacation in Paris wearing Mitzah in the cool rain. 🙂
Hope you are having a wonderful time!
SO COOL!
❤️ Paris…. Enjoy!
Sounds perfect! Enjoy!
That sounds perfect. Enjoy Paris.
Have fun! Are you going to visit Serge Luten’s perfume store?
Paris is on my bucket list. And a few chocolate croissants….
That sounds amazing!
Oh lovely…enjoy it all.
Have the best time! Also, you are literally wearing a vacation scent so seems like you should get extra CP points
I’m wearing Yosh Ginger Ciao for the coconut note and just realized that Dune would have also qualified for the CP since sand dunes are on beaches near me. GC is gorgeous though, I haven’t worn it in ages.
Off to my daughter’s house for a long weekend while her husband is out of town. Pedicure ahead! I hope I can talk her into going to see Barbie with me.
Have a great visit! I hope you get to go to the Movies.
Me too! It’s been ages since I’ve been to a theater.
Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks, Jalapeño!
I’m wearing Un Jardin à Cythère, from a new decant. Pretty, but fleeting.
It has a strange top note, but otherwise nice-but-fleeting, as is often the Hermes way…
Soleil Brulant by Tom Ford. Burning sun, definitely the name fits the beach themed cp. YAY!
Saw AIDA tonight. LOVED the costumes and the LED backdrops
Haven’t really been interested in TF lately, but this one sounds good! What do you think of it?
It’s a lovely wear and comfortable.
Is it worth the money? Only if you have spades of it. My bottle was a gift from a friend who had been given it but it didn’t suit.
Easy decision, then, thanks!
I tried to go for something traditionally beachy, for which the most appropriate thing I could lay my hands on seemed to be Lush’s Furze – a soft, milky mimosa/coconut/possibly sandalwood composition that for me is the quintessential suntan lotion scent. Funny thing is: given that in reality it aims to capture the smell of blooming gorse bushes it could just as well stand for the rather different vacation of a hiking holiday in the Scottish Highlands.
Oh I love Furze! Wish I’d bought it ages ago.
What a legend, Tony Bennett. I was lucky enough to see him and Lady Gaga on their tour at Radio City Music Hall.
Thunked my sample of Fzotic Unsettled today, for the pina colada note. I wore this earlier in the week and it really turned me off for some reason. But today I’m loving it. Do you think hormones have an effect on how we perceive scents?
With Lady Gaga -how wonderful!
And yes, I had a hysterectomy and nothing smelled the same after that. My hormones were changed in one day. And they control everything.
Hormones *definitely* have an impact on our sense of smell!
Very cool you got to see Tony with Lady Gaga! I saw him at Ravinia and have a signed CD. He was terrific!
TDC Sel de Vetiver for me today, which is as beachy as I get (I don’t love the smell of sunscreen so I don’t have any scents with it…at least any where it’s obvious).
Ready for this week to be over and for Mr. Ockeghem to get home. I’m tired and still jet lagged.
Great choice! For a while I was tempted to go down a similar route with the sorely missed Vétiver by Annick Goutal.
Smell Bent St Tropez Gold which is hands-down my favorite iteration of St Tropez Dispenser. Dunno if it’s the real nitro musks or what, but I lurrrrrve it.
Gotta lace up my sneakers and go do my morning cat sitting duties. Second to last day of my Ultimate Cat Sitting week (3 households plus my own of course)!
Loved your comment yesterday about my “functional” Chanel. It was a word I didn’t know I needed in my perfume vocabulary!
Hiya scent twin! Your pick inspired my choice.
Oh great choice!
In Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Florale for the beach with a cool, gentle breeze…🏖
Wonderful choice!
I wore the oil last night. I love how soft it makes my skin feel
Bet y’all didn’t think I was going to wear Terracotta, did you? 😀 But here I am, twinsies with Robin, and smelling like the beachy summer that I’m not fully managing to have. I’ll be spending this summer day cranking on my research grant proposal, and while I’m anxious about the looming deadline, heavens but I’ll be relieved when it comes and I hit the big, green SUBMIT button!
Thank you for all your kind words yesterday. I’m so grateful for this kind-hearted community.
I didn’t get to post yesterday but I am always wishing the best for you.😊
Adding my best wishes to you Isabella. That’s quite a lot to deal with.
Hit that button!
So much to write before I can hit that button! French 75s on the house when I do.
Scent update: I’m also testing out some Imaginary Authors samples today, specifically Falling Into the Sea to stay on theme. The notes on the website are “Lemon, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lychee, Tropical Flowers, and Warm Sand.” Initially, it smelled like Malibu Lemon Blossom sprayed over a watermelon Jolly Rancher (but in a fun and non-calone way); a bit further in and I’m still getting that but with a definite beachy-floral, coconutty, sunscreeny thing happening as well, with definite warm sand. I don’t know what the “warm sand” aromachemical is, but I’m always a sucker for it. This one seems like it would be nice in their body oil format.
Sending you lots of productive vibes for finishing your grant proposal! I love your positive attitude.
You can do it! Keep calm and waft on.
Wishing you all the best and sending positive energies and a big 🤗 your way.
A belated hey twin! And you can do it!
Extra lovely photo today! 😍 Not sure what I’ll wear today. In fact, I’m going to rummage through my samples right now…
Wazamba it is! Dumped the entire sample (it was already half gone) down my décolleté. Not exactly “beachy” but it’s quite nice. I certainly would love a full bottle if I didn’t have to buy it. 😃
I have all my samples in a mesh bag that I accidentally dropped on the tile floor the last time I was hoteling it. Lost a couple of samples, fished out the broken bits and now I’m leaving the bag in a wicker catch all basket by my bed. The end result is that there is this low level but constant waft of perfumed air snaking in tendrils throughout the camper. Not noticeable during the day because I have the windows open and fan on, but at night when I close everything except the bathroom vent and crack a single window, it’s just lovely! It’s a mix of Baume du Doge and a couple others I can’t remember. Nothing like having a wafty camper! 🥰
Smell well, y’all!
Deva, all that beach is missing is you and T-Rex!
Is that all that’s left of your Baume du Doge, though, the remnants on the bag? I do like that one.
I already wore Bronze Goddess for another community project recently so today I’m in Sensuous Nude. It’s one of those skin scents you don’t notice until you do, a kind of modern Egyptian musk, and very pretty.
Sounds great- I love when perfumes calm and then re-bloom again on your skin
That one is very pretty, and I don’t see it mentioned much. I had a coworker who used to wear it and she always smelled nice.
Yes, I really like that one. An all occasion sort of scent.
I keep forgetting to wear that one. It is nice.
Same here!
Wearing Worth Courtesan today since it has pineapple in it. Tried to get a doctor’s appointment before I had to go to work but naturally I couldn’t so I have to go into work late. This rash has gotten bigger and not getting better with the cream. Even after 5 days of treatment.
Yikes. I hope you can get in soon!
A persistent rash is no fun, hope the doctor will fix it.
Ooooooooof. Five days of an itchy rash not getting better with treatment is too long.
Hope you get better soon.
I have saved Eau des Merveilles for today. I still love this one, and I want to be wearing it on that beautiful beach! Have never been to the Seychelles, but I’m willing. 😄
That’s a nice one. You are smelling good Ann!
Thank you, Kris! Hope you enjoy your weekend.
Yes, you smell great.🌞
Thanks, madtowngirl!
Fingers crossed you one day get to the Seychelles.
Thanks, Portia! Have you been?
I love EdM; it’s a favorite ‘sea’ scent for me.
Mine, too, definitely. It’s my favorite of the Merveilles family.
Didn’t feel beachy today and trying to thunk my second bottle of Chanel No 5 L’eau so wearing that instead. I am determined to get it done this summer. Of course, I have the BUB still in the box waiting to be used.
👍 you smell great of course! I have just a 30 ml of that one, but when I thunk it I think I’ll replace with the big bottle. It’s a no brainer, one of my “big 3,” the others being Eau des Merveilles and Tam Dao.
Oh, those two are great scents as well. L’Eau is easy to wear and you can spray with abandon!
Smelling fantastic today Kris. Glad that you have a BUB!
I’ve been trying to plumb the depths of my perfume collection lately so yesterday and today I’ve pulled out a couple that I’ve had a long time but not worn recently. Yesterday I smelled divinely beachy in Ava Luxe Venus Sands. Today tropical flowers beachy in Jala by Calypso St. Barth. I have a full bottle of Jala plus another one with about 20ml left. I think the low fill bottle doesn’t smell as fresh as it used to, but that could also be due to old juice sitting in the tube. I had to dig the bottle out from under multiple boxes of perfumes in my closet so I will probably top this off with some Terracotta later once the temps warm up. My Terracotta decant is much more accessible!
Super ready for this weekend and so glad it’s Friday!
Gosh, almost never hear about Calypso St Barth anymore!
My Lea is almost gone! 😭
I don’t think I have anything obviously beachy but I’ve worn Eau des Merveilles for three days in a row. To me it smells like warm salty skin.
I’m becoming curious about the Guerlain Terracotta so many of you are talking about. I don’t think I’ve ever smelled it. Of course it’s discontinued but I see some bottles available for resale on various platforms. The notes sound promising.
Is this a must try perfume? Would it be a safe blind buy? I’m clearly experiencing FOMO. 😀
You smell great!
I don’t know if Terracotta is a safe blind buy, maybe start with a decant first. Fwiw, I like it better than Bronze Goddess.
I vaguely remember not being impressed with BG when I tried it. Thanks MTG!
Terracotta is a great one to have if you do enjoy the beachy-vibed scents. Not a safe blind buy though,I’d sample or get a decant first.I do adore it and it fits nicely in my small beach-perfume stash(Terracotta,Bronze Goddess,Soleil Blanc from TF,a couple from CSP and AA Tiare Mimosa)
✌🏻
Judging by the lack of beachy-vibed scents in my collection I would say they are not my cup of tea generally speaking but I’m keeping an open mind and I’ve certainly not tried a plethora of them, so who knows? Thanks J B!
I’d agree it’s not a blind-buy candidate. I bought a FB online from Nordstrom, unsniffed, and was grateful for their return policy — less strict then than it is now. I like “beachy” I’m general, but that one did not appeal to me.
I’m clearly getting the message here. Thank you Skalolazka!
Terracotta is not a safe blind buy. I’d say that it’s in the same family as AG Songes.
AG Songes was not my cup of tea. I gave it away some years ago. Thank you Jalapeno, I will not blind buy. Might get a sample or a decant.
Yes to ‘warm, salty skin👍.
I’m in Terracotta again. I took a break from my streak yesterday with some Glossier You.
I was up bright and early with a Home Depot run. Did you know they open at 6 am?! Well, here anyway. I wasn’t there at open but definitely early enough to beat the crowds.
They ran a story on the news this week that home prices in my city made the biggest hike in the country over the past few months. I knew the market was crazy here but geez. We are no longer a sleepy midwestern college town. Makes me sad. It is crazy busy everywhere now. But my city was gone.🎶😞
It’s very sad. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve driven through small once booming towns that are now in various stages of death and decay. It depresses me to no end. When I started traveling that was one of the most disturbing things I discovered. Where did all the people go?! The only “small towns” I see doing well now are those in tourist areas.
It is very sad. We’ve still got some great small towns in my state.
My city has seen the exact opposite. Massive growth and a thriving economy. More people are moving here than we have housing for. Due in large part because we are home to a major software company for one of the most used EHR in the country. The number of high rise apartment buildings that have gone up in the 17 years that we’ve been here is staggering. The city is built on an isthmus. I am neither an engineer nor an urban planner, but even I can do that math.😏 I’m starting to sound like my dad lol who lives in the middle of the woods and loves it!😂
You smell great!
Thanks Kris!
The towns died because all the young people moved away, as they couldn’t earn a living where they were. 🙁
I can’t get on my soapbox here since it would be against the rules.
Yes. And they all came here!😩
Yep, Home Depot opens up EARLY!
Ha! I know you’ve been doing lots of home renovations lately too.
We actually picked up some really nice blinds from there a few years ago (pre-pandemic). This was after a certain chain store royally ticked us off with horrible customer service.
Oh such an interesting day. The project I joined has been put on pause.
I have a short period before Africa. DAMN IT.
Now I need to hustle for a 4-6 week project gig. I am too old to hustle much. DAMN IT.
Robin, thank you for the pic of the Seychelles. I went there in 1986 with my then husband for Christmas. They are beyond beautiful and at that time there was only a small airstrip on the main island and no hotels on Praslin and Le Digue. Sugar spun sand, delicious food, spiders the size of dinner plates, flowers of such color.
SOTD is yep, Ingenious Ginger.
Oh, sorry to hear your gig was cancelled, at such an inconvenient time, too. 👎🏼 I’m sure you smell wonderful and I’m still contemplating a blind but of the travel size of IG. I don’t have too many “summer” appropriate perfumes since my real love is deep dark orientals and such. I hope you’re able to find something quickly. I’m waiting with bated breath for your big trip! 🦁🐯🦒🦛🐆🦓
Well, Deva, you and I like a lot of the same fragrances. I think you would enjoy this one for anytime. I don’t think of it as summer. Maybe that’s because in Los Angeles the temperature is so ambient much of the time.
I am blessed to get a Social Security check every month now since turning 70 in May, so if I don’t pick up anything between now and when we leave, it won’t be the end of the world.
Mostly, everything is already paid for. My sister let her hair go silver gray finally and now we will look like twinsies again.
Well, FRACK!
Gosh, I’m so sorry apsara. What bad timing.
Happy Friyay!(or Fried-Yay,if I look to the North and I hear about the heat that side this Summer!)
SOTD!
CSP Vanille Extreme.I’m a birthday cake on an exotic island basically. So yum!
Enjoy your weekend JB!
I’m back to Kerosene (only three samples left to try!) and wearing the only one I bought. In contrast to its devoted fans, I was not impressed with Terracotta. Today’s Kerosene, Unforsaken, is what I wanted Terracotta to be. Coconut, orange, white flowers, and a touch of spice make it beachy but not suntan lotion-ish. More like a lei and a pina colada in the tropics.
Mmm, I think I have a sample of this one hiding somewhere — have to dig it out and try it!
That sounds fantastic!
I would have to go look at my notes, but IIRC Unforsaken was my favorite Kerosene.
Cristalle Eau Verte, for probably the 30th time this summer. I am determined to thunk the bottle, and realized that I can take a decant to Australia to leave with our daughter. Not sure how much time she has for perfume with a small baby in the house, but — especially if her sense of smell has changed post-partum — she will probably enjoy a sack of samples and decants. 🙂
Mums need to pamper themselves a bit
Wearing Zeste de Soleil on one arm and Malibu Lemon Blossom on the other, my sunniest scents.
☀️🍋👍🏻
Wearing Sydney Rock Pool and wishing I was back there instead of sitting in bed, in my down jacket trying to warm up ( I could see my breath in my bedroom when I woke up brrr). On the plus side I saw a daffodil and lots of crocuses in the gardens yesterday, beacons of yellow.
Oh dear, a down jacket in bed! Glad you can see bulbs coming up.
Banana and strawberries smoothie
I couldn’t make up my mind this morning, picked Caron Infini and put it back, and finally chose Balmain Ivoire 2012 which was discontinued a few years later and I don’t know why because it’s very pretty and like pink Dove soap, on Fragrantica people don’t make the distinction and for me pink and white Dove are not alike. Also, to confuse even more Dove sold in Europe is a very different scent from the ones in the US alas and only available in white. Then for the CP I grabbed Yves Rocher Eau des Vahinés which was very appropriate but decided on Nuxe Prodigieux le parfum which fits too.
And I swear Dove here does not smell the same as it used to! It used to smell like cold cream and now it smells like “fresh” something…the white, that is. Can’t remember seeing the pink.
Yes I also remember white Dove smelling like cold cream, it’s sad news that it is no longer the case, so maybe it now smells the same in the US and Europe.
I am wearing Bronze Goddess today. I love this one, even apart from the beach aspect.
I must not have a lot of beach type scents. I thought of Goldfield and Banks Sunset Hour, thinking of the gathering for dinner and drinks post-beach that I often prefer to the beach itself.
For vacation vibes, I would think of airline fuel scent, actually.
Winding down my vacation, having the luxury of a quiet house at the moment and a nice lunch of leftovers and salad. Husband has banned me from cooking due to the summer heat and directives to avoid large appliance use to spare the energy grid. But eating out (his alternative) doesn’t seem very environmental to me – isn’t the restaurant cooking? And one aspect of eating out I hate is the paper and plastic waste.
Yesterday, I cleaned out my closet, finally getting out the dust and combating the chaos. I have been much better about avoiding buying stuff so not a lot of culling out, but I did find a few items to donate. My timeline to retirement is about 4 years. I am pretty casual most of the time anyway but in the pandemic, I started wearing scrubs and sneakers to work almost every day – comfortable and so easy for laundry. Also makes for speedy wardrobe decisions in the morning. The best part is the sneakers and clogs versus professional shoes.
I’m in that same ‘prepping for retirement’ vibe. Weeding out closets and drawers at home and file cabinets at work. It’s a good feeling to get things straightened up.
I almost wore Terracotta! I would have been scent-twins with a few of you.
Instead, I went for a “cloudy British beach” vibe with Sunspel Sea Moss and now I’ve added a spritz of DSH Beach Roses for a dune rose effect. I really love this one from DSH!
I haven’t tried that one, but makes me think of the Rosa rugosa that grows in the back dunes in Rhode Island, and its plummy, salty deliciousness…
No one’s done Mr. Hulot’s Holiday today, but that’s such a fun British beach one!
At least we had sightings this week! I would have worn it if I still had any.
Wearing Hermes Eau de Merveilles Bleue for the cp. Salty, marine, fresh, bright. A big favorite! Happy Friday! 🏖
Scent cousins!
We smell great in the Merveilles!
Got samples of both EdM and EdM Bleue that are actually easily retrievable. They might get some time in the spotlight this summer.
Hi all, long time since I’ve visited so happy FriYAY! 🙂
SOTD is Shelley Kyle’s De Ma Mere. A floral honey, linden, and green perfume with an amber dry down.
Sad news about Tony Bennett. I drove to work with the car windows down and heard his music everywhere. It was fun to hear I Left My Heart in SF after the SF Giants would win a baseball game. There was an interesting interview on NPR today with Scott Simon about his family’s relationship with Tony and the book they coauthored. Such a beautiful voice. I think his duet with Amy Winehouse was my favorite of the duets he performed.
Hi, good to see you posting.
Hello there! Good to “see” you!
Hey SmokeyToes!
I’ve realized I have quite a few more beachy scents than I realized. Or ones that qualify. Never really thought about it.
Maison Margiela Beach Walk is my CP entry. You’d think it’d be sweet but I find it dry. I tried this in Sephora and didn’t think much about it, but then a woman on the subway commented I smelled good. My husband agreed. So, I bought a travel spray. I don’t wear it often but I do get compliments on it. My colleague in the bakery complimented me on Aloha Tiare yesterday, which led to a fun discussion on scents. She’s a summer worker from Bulgaria, who intends to visit NYC in the fall. I’ll give her a list of places to go sniffing. I don’t think she’s very aware of niche, but she has good taste.
Hope she is saving her pennies then 😉
I’ve got a busy Saturday morning with a hair appointment and a fabric sale – that’s two words I’m always excited to see together. It’s a cold and wet day, completely not beachy, so I’ll wear something warming, maybe PdN’s Sacrebleu Intense.
Hope your hair is gorgeous and you got all the fabric deals you were hoping for!
I’m wearing Copal Azur. It works for a cool rocky beach!
Happy birthday to Cat Stevens, I should put on some of his songs. I think I really fell for them after watching Harold and Maude oh so many years ago. I remember the songs more than I do the movie.
Oh, I should have thought of that one this week!
Was going back and forth on whether I like the Eau de Cartier I am testing. Verdict is that it is a fail. Aquatic and sharp herbs plus citrus–it is interesting, which I appreciate, but it isn’t making me happy. YMMV.
I never could make up my mind either, so I never bought it. I did like some of the flankers.
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/r6DUwMnDxEs
I heard this song on the radio this morning, and thought of my Mom. She spent a few years in San Francisco after she graduated from business college, and always spoke fondly of it. Made me smile.
Apparently I slept thru some impressive thunder and rain this morning. It was loud enough to wake up Mr. Jalapeno. Couldn’t have proved it by me. I was blissfully unaware thanks to earplugs and some magnesium that I had taken last night before bed.
SOTD = Smell Bent Saint Tropez Dispenser/Gold EdT, from the Sample Stash. I had dabber samples of both Dispenser and Gold, and an empty travel spray of Gold from SmellBent, so I combined them both. A couple of sprays have kept me company since this morning.
Heh, slept like a baby, did you? I don’t even recall the thunder but knew there was some kind of weather disturbance.
You smell nice and I prefer someone else wears it and not moi.
I wouldn’t say I slept like a baby. To me, that means up every 2 hours to go to the bathroom! 😪🥴
I’m quite happy that I have both the Dispenser and Dispenser Gold versions of St. Tropez.
San Fran was my parents favorite city. They always raved about it, but I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t recognize it now. I’m a fan of Tony Bennett and loved all the duets he did in later years. I especially enjoyed when he sang with kd lang. Their voices and style just go so well together. 🎶🎼🎵
The only memory I have left of San Fran is of my then 5-year-old brother chasing seagulls on Fisherman’s Wharf.
I started the day in Iroaz, a salty beach rose scent, in honor of my niece and her husband who just returned from two weeks in Scotland (WITH their six month old baby, intrepid travelers that they are). After that faded I switched to Jour d’Hermes for its summer-in-a-bottle vibe.
Hope they had a great trip! I was not that intrepid when my son was that young 🙂
I noticed numerous wearings of EL’s Bronze Goddess but was surprised that no one wore my SOTD, which I understand is the precursor to the popular Bronze Goddess and which was inspired by the Mediterranean near EL’s summer home, Azuree Soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent. Love, love love this one, my favorite beachy scent. Love the bottle, too, and the juice is the same lovely blue color as the pool water I enjoyed all afternoon today.
A morning in-person yoga class with my favorite teacher and an outdoor concert tonight with a musician who does both Billy Joel and Elton John will complete this total vacation day for me – and the weather is beautiful! Enjoying every minute of this weekend – started last night with a concert featuring a rock band doing everything from the 70’s onward and will finish the weekend with a Pond and Garden Walk both tomorrow and Sunday. Off for a quick dinner now and will catch up on posts later tonight. Happy weekend to all 🎶!
I think the Azuree Soleil Eau Fraiche Skinscent is probably a Perfume Unicorn. 🦄
SOTD = Goldfield and Banks Bohemian Lime
Lime as far the nose can smell, vetiver and sandalwood, what’s not to love? 🥰

Did I mention there’s a cat hanging about my deck this week? I have only seen him twice earlier in the week: once he was sitting there licking his paw (did not look hurt to me) and the following day, he was sleeping like a baby all curled up comfy in the little cut out for a grill. I haven’t seen him since but hope he is ok!
I’ve been looking at that one as well as the ginger scent, but the feedback was virtually no lime at all. Is it prominent to you and does it last?
I absolutely get the lime and my usual 8 sprays lasted all day. Ingenious Ginger is also fantastic.
I don’t recall you mentioning a visitor of the feline persuasion…
Ha! I didn’t want to jinx it but I suppose a cat will cat as one does 😹
The only good thing about the first part of my day was Songes, maybe it helped to end my day on a high note during a dinner with friends. Such a great scent!
Posting and running tonight.
I had planned on wearing Clean Ultimate Beach Day but switched to Terracotta to be twins with Robin.
I think you made a better choice with Terrracotta.
Fab with Terracotta!
I’m only wearing sunscreen today; it’s too hot here for fragrance!
Earlier in the week I wore Bronze Goddess and Terracotta at night. I’ll have to bring out my Nuxe oil for this evening after my shower.
SOTD was Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Beachy and office friendly. I’d have sworn I’d have lots of twins today, but nope. It was a nice surprise from my mom for my birthday last month. She gave me a Honeysuckle and Davana candle for Mother’s Day as well. Not her usual type of gift to me, but I was pretty stoked to get them.
I went with Arquiste Vacation, which I think delivers on its promise to make you smell like you are sitting poolside. I’m trying to manifest a pool for my backyard (and by manifest I mean wear down Mr Vee until he agrees).
I almost didn’t have tea today because I had a morning meeting out in the world, but I’m settling down now with a cup of Nutcracker — the best no caffeine tea I’ve ever had.
