It's Friday and there are 3 more days until spring! Birthdays: Penelope Lively, William Gibson, Nat King Cole, Alexander McQueen. Of course, it's also Saint Patrick’s Day! Our community project: wear green for St Patrick's Day. (This is a repeat, probably many times over.)
What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
I'm in L’Artisan Parfumeur Jacinthe des Bois: green + hyacinth. My bottle is elderly but still kicking.
Reminder: 3/24 is William Morris' birthday. Do whatever you like with the theme: match a textile or wallpaper or La Belle Iseult, or choose any motif (wear strawberry for Strawberry Thief, for instance)? Or take inspiration from his London house or garden, now under the care of the National Trust? Links: William Morris: A Lifelong Fascination with Flowers at Dovecot, Introducing William Morris at V&A, the William Morris website.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2023, where I'll try (but obviously sometimes fail) to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Tempted to wear my spring staple, Yves Rocher Homme Nature, but I always break that out on the first day of the season and I just couldn’t. It can wait a few days! Instead I’m wearing Bulgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert, which I was absolutely mad for when it was new, but I have smelled roughly one thousand versions of it in the ensuing thirty years (I bought it when it was launched, HOW CAN IT BE THAT OLD) so the magic is kind of gone. Still, though. It was the first of its kind, and that’s worth something.
Also, the bottle is absolutely killer. I peeled off the label years ago because it interfered with the elegant, almost transcendent purity of the design — frosted vs. clear, glass vs. metal, curves vs. sharp angles, in the palest of greens. It’s a work of genius.
Those bottles are very pretty.
I know exactly what you mean about the magic. There are too many green tea fragrances now.
Whoa! What a photo. I’ve taken architecture tours by boat on the Chicago river, but I’ve never kayaked it. It’s on my bucket list during one of my trips.
I’m in Chanel No. 19 edp. I’m guessing I’ll have a few twins today.
A wonderful thing happened at work this week. After three long years of 😷, we now get to see peoples’ smiles again.😁
Today is my day off and I’ve got the whole house to myself for a few hours. Just enjoying the silence. Thinking about what to make for dinner tonight. My son asked for Reuben sandwiches, but I’ve never actually made one. I have made Reuben casserole though, so I’m thinking that will be easier (for me) and still have the same flavor effect. What are your favorite St. Patrick’s day foods?
Looks like there are several kayak rentals right there, sounds like a fun thing to do in summer.
It does. I have to admit I’m a bit intimidated by all the boat traffic on that river.😬 I’d have to go with someone else for sure.
I think a Reuben sounds right. Please send a second one here.
I decided on the casserole, I’ll pass you a piece.😉
I took that Chicago architecture boat tour and it was FAN TASTIC. It opened up the city in a way nothing else could have. The docent was knowledgeable and interesting: I still remember it vividly.
In fact, we’ve had lots of really great city boat tours, on the Spree in Berlin, around Manhattan, on the Thames…. They’re touristy, sure, but they’re informative and fun, a great way to see and learn things you otherwise mightn’t. We have a couple lined up for the fall, in Amsterdam and Paris. Can’t wait!
I’ve done the boat tours in Amsterdam, London, and Paris, and they’re terrific, I agree! Especially a sunset tour of the Thames where we went one way, saw the sun set, turned around and came back and got to see all the bridges lit up, the Tower, Parliament, etc. Really fun! Also, a daytime summer boat tour of the islands in the harbor of Helsinki was neat!
I agree about taking the touristy boat trips. They’re a great way to see a new place, because they’re designed exactly for that!
Lots of people turn up their noses at hop-on hop-off buses, but that’s the first thing I do in a new city. A couple of hours doing the complete circuit really helps you get a feel for the layout and distances.
My favorite boat tour ever was the one we took into the New Orleans bayou. We learned all about the Cajun culture from the Captain, who was a native Cajun and whose grandmother was a Cajun faith healer, or traiteuse. He told us many stories of the area people and frequently warned us not to extend our legs off the flat-bottomed boat lest it tempt the alligators! The moss hanging from the swampy trees lended an eerie quality to the whole experience, one I’ll never forget!

Did you guess before you clicked? It’s an easy one. Lol. Have a great day!
CCR?
Oh, I was totally wrong, lol!
I had forgotten about that song, thank you for the blast from the past😀
Yep! I knew someone would get that reference.😉🤘 They are playing in Chicago next month and I’ve been begging my h to take me.🙏 I’d take myself but I can’t handle that traffic.
I saw some recent concert footage. They sound great!
Dave still looks great too!
I can’t believe I never saw them in concert back in the day.
I loved the Chicago River architecture tour! It was so fun.
I agree! I’ve done it twice, and would do it again, hopefully with my girls some day.
Unmasking day, yay! I went on one of those tours, also. It was wonderful! Plus, we had a beautiful June day, so it was especially nice.
I loved Reuben sandwiches. 😋 If you can make a grilled cheese, you can make one of those. Same principle, just a few more ingredients.
I love a good Reuben too! Now that I’m thinking of it, I cannot remember the last time I had one! I got all the ingredients, and decided on the casserole instead. The lazier option.😂
I’ve taken the boat tour around Manhattan and recommend it highly! So many things you can’t see otherwise.
We’re twins one day apart. No St. Patrick’s day food for me as I did not buy any ingredients; however, I do have Irish Soda bread so I suppose that counts!
I’m wearing the last of a small decant of Corsica Furiosa. I love this for its bitter greens. I just ordered a 9ml decant, and when that’s gone I’m sure that I’ll get the full bottle.
I almost did Azemour, but ended up in the L’Artisan.
You smell fantastic today!
Oh yeah, that CF is a head turner! You smell delish and early congrats on the at FB you’ll soon be picking up.🙌
Someone wore Trèfle Pur earlier in the week and I thought it would be perfect for the 17th!
Bet you will not be the only one!
You’re right. 😁
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!☘️Wearing L’Artisan Fou d’Absinthe for the CP.
Very busy day at work today. Back to read comments later.
Happy Friday! ☘️🍀
We are cousins 🙂
Yay! We smell great, cousin! 😀
I’ve never smelled l’Artisan Fou d’Absinthe, I bet you smell great.
Fou d’Absinthe is a boozy, bitter green scent. It smells very masculine on me, that is why I do not wear it often. But it is a very nice scent for sure!
Thank you very much for the mini review, even leaning masculine I will be happy to try it some day.
Fou d’Absinthe had a great pine needle note in it, according to my nose. But yeah, it could be on the masculine side.
Interesting, I love a pine scent and not afraid of masculine.
Vert D’Encens for the wearing of the green
That collection of green fragrances by TF was good.
I wore that one today too! We smell great. Of the four TF Vert fragrances, my favorite is Vert de Fleur, but I really like them all.
I’m twinning with MTG (and probably several others) in 19 EDP. OH my, what a lovely green fragrance. 💚💚💚
Hey twin!🙌💚
Woohoo, twins one day apart!
Vintage Chanel No. 19 parfum because I know a bunch of y’all will be wearing it! Honestly No. 19 is not one I would wear, but I like keeping it around for reference.
Thank you everyone for sharing your dental crown stories yesterday, I am feeling much better about having to get mine. Gonna wait for the insurance quote to see what the damage is and will report back!
You smell nice of course.
My thoughts on the insurance quote is will you be doing something different if the quote is not what you were expecting?
I’ll be in solidarity with others in 19 EDP; I’m away from home and it’s probably the only green sample I brought along. I’m staring at the Vancouver Island mountains and the water outside the window; it’s a cold beach vacation but it is supposed to get up to 10C today. The kid will be making matcha chocolate chip cookies today from her Asian baking cookbook, so we’re on trend with St. Pat’s!
How do you like Vancouver
I hope you have a wonderful vacation.
Have fun besides being cold. We are twins, one day apart!
Matcha and chocolate are a very tasty combination! 😋
Eau Magnolia by Malle
Smells like spring to me. My plan was Ninfeo Mio but I can’t find my bottle.
I am 45 pages into The Sheltering Sky and I am really loving it. The part where he is lost in the streets was like me my first day in Marrakesh. The souks are like a labyrinth.
I had to return my Mishima book that I didn’t finish, the library called me and asked me to bring it back because it was overdue. The kids and MrL had a good laugh at me…you volunteer at the library and yet you still get yourself into trouble!
Trying a new hair mouse today-let’s see how it goes.
I love eau de magnolia, you smell amazing!
But they called, that’s so lovely! My library just sends an email, if that…sometimes nothing happens and I just owe money.
For the CP, I waffled between Vol de Nuit and Chamade edt – Chamade it is! I did not immediately take to it, and I suspect reading about others’ love of it led to a let-down. But hyacinth and galbanum will always get my respectful attention! 😀 I have vintage (a Somers, NY zig-zag box) and a bee bottle-era tester I got on FragranceNet. My vintage has some of that old perfume dustiness, but they are both enjoyable. Happy Friday and St. Patrick’s Day. I will be having corned beef at some point, a big favorite Chez Mossy.
Two bottles of Chamade? Nice!
There is something about Chamade that reminds me of a couple of my cousins. It’s probably similar to something they wore back in the day.
In Cristalle edt. This is probably as green as I go. Saying it cuz someone has to: It’s not easy being green!
Beautiful SOTD
You wear it well!
One of my favorites. I just love it. Glad I have a large back up bottle! You smell great.
Happy St Paddy’s Day to all! I’m not wearing or smelling green, but that’s ok because it is quite cold now. Beautiful day yesterday and it looks as though the weather gods pressed repeat for today. Woohoo!
Ummagumma for me today so I can smell scrumptious while doing laundry and tidying up a bit before we head to our next spot. My plan is to stay OFF the roads until Monday by which time people will hopefully have sobered up!
Stay safe! 🇮🇪
Are you still staying in WA for your next destination?
Yes, just moved a bit east.
I am not participating in CP. I am wearing Poème by Lancome since I found and got a bottle yesterday , this is a perfume I have never tried before, it captured my heart with only one wear. Sometimes you know right away !!
It’s so good when you find a new scent, and perfect for spring too
You smell wonderful – another Poeme fan here.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!🍀
Trying Can’t Stop Loving You today…so far FLORAL in the opening. 😉
I have to go into the office two days next weeks for an on-site audit w/ an outside entity asking questions.😳 I am a bit nervous and will dab something w/ vanilla on my forearm those days to sneak an occasional huff to calm myself.😆
Would love to know any tips people have for staying calm in situations like that? I am a good worker and not afraid to speak in front of others but I haven’t participated in this audit before and don’t want to be the weak link.⛓
I want to hear more about your SOTD
For Can’t Stop Loving You, wasn’t that impressed overall. It’s more neroli to my nose…green and sharp…than orange blossom which is more floral. It also has a certain aroma chemical vibe and is pretty linear…doesn’t change much over time.
I’ve made lists of accomplishments and contributions before big reviews and gone over them ahead of time. It reminds me that I am skilled and competent and capable of making good decisions.
Thank you, sistine.♥️
Building on what sistine mentioned, also make a list of what your job responsibilities are. If you have anyone who you supervise, add that in. Same goes for training.
Thank you, Jalapeno.♥️
I had a conversation with a dear co-worker (different group, doing similar things). She was asking for feedback regarding her demeanor on calls. I said she’s perfectly fine in the topics she’s brought up EXCEPT she has to stop apologizing for bringing them up! She always started with “I’m sorry …” and I said stop saying that and go right to the point. I’m sure you know what you do but if you are stumped by a question, tell them you will get back to them. Do not guess.
Thank you, hajusuuri!♥️ Yes, dropping the I’m sorry is great advice. I often try to listen to phrases people overuse in general on calls and make mental notes to not do it myself.
In emails, I never use the word “just” either…like Just following up on blah…Just wanted to see if you were able to blah…I don’t minimize but lead off w/ Following up or Wanted to etc. which was good advice I read a long time ago.
And also appreciate the reminder to only answer what I know. My boss reviewed some overall slides on the audit process w/ a group and said specifically to not answer what we don’t know and say we will research and get back.
I’m wearing Memoir Woman, which probably isn’t many people’s idea of green, but I find the wormwood note is prominent on my skin and it’s a dark witchy green, so I chose it for today.
You still get points in my book
Sounds perfect to me. That one is still on my “to try” list.
The stars are shining so brightly this morning, and it is crisp outside so I am hoping the day will be one of those cool, clear sunny autumn days. I am wearing Ys-Uszac Pohadka( Shiso, grass and artemisia but mostly immortelle) and the bottle is almost empty, which is a shame. I ended up gardening yesterday , hacking away at things that had overgrown paths with the loppers. Sprocket the dog kept getting his nose in the way, tugging at the branches I was trying to cut, and barking….had to keep stopping to get him out of the way before I cut off his nose. Anyway, the lawn is scattered with the branches he managed to steal and chew. Mayhem .
Ooh, your perfume sounds incredible!
Aww, Sprocket is helping you! He probably thinks you are beating the bushes on a hunt!
I already love Sprocket. Our Golden Retriever used to jump in our just raked piles of autumn leaves (I know other dogs love to do that, too) and scatter them everywhere, but it was so pretty: she matched the pile perfectly!
Happy Friday, all!
I haven’t chimed in all week because I have been so busy at work and it’s also been an eventful week, weather-wise. My neighborhood had 30+ mph winds, knocking out power to about half the area. Driving was so dangerous, dodging all the flying branches and with many traffic lights out. I’m so relieved it’s behind us now.
I still feel very cold this morning and not feeling like my springy green scents, so I dug out a sample of Enchanted Forest. This is a green that works well in the cold, with its piney and sweet jammy notes. Really hitting the spot for me today.
Glad for the wind has calmed down. I have a sample of EF somewhere, I’ve never tried it.
That’s pretty scary weather, glad it’s calmed down. I love Enchanted Forest and agree, it’s a perfect cold-weather green scent. I have only a sample that’s almost gone; one of these days I’m going to treat myself to a full bottle.
Not a fan of those winds! Glad to hear things have calmed down for you.
I’m wearing ‘a scent by issey miyake’.
A slightly annoying name for a fragrance, but a bright light spring green with flowers.
It’s a lovely little scent.
You smell great, I like that one too.
I am in Cloon Keen Roísín Dubh today, for not – quite – green but trebly Irish CP points.
Off to give my presentation! Thanks for your kind comments, and good wishes!
Good luck!
I’m sure you’ll give a great presentation.
Good luck!🍀
You’ve got this!
Fabulous Irish choice! I hope it went well.
I chose a very soft green – the greyish-green of Wood Sage and Sea Salt. We’re doing major adulting this week, and I needed something comforting. (How is it that I’m 46 and still don’t feel like an adult???)
Adutling sneaks up on you, doesn’t it 🙂
You smell great! If it’s any consolation, I’m 9 years older than you and still don’t feel like an adult!🤣 I’m still making plans for what I want to do when I grow up.
I’m about the same age as madtowngirl and I have my doubts if I am a full fledged adult.
Ha! We used to have a children’s table at family gatherings and I had to keep reminding myself I am not a child anymore!
Happy St Patty’s day!! Currently in no 19 edt. Haven’t heard anything back from my job application yet. Started cleaning out my closet today. Will be hacking away at it after work and finish it tomorrow.
Good luck with the application!
Hope you hear from them soon, and go, closet-clearner, go!
Fingers crossed for the job application.
Good Luck! 🍀 Hope your patience will be rewarded 🤞!
Good luck!🤞 I cleaned out my closet last week, such a good feeling.
Ah, No. 19, the classic green. You smell great! I wish you luck with the closet and the job.
You are wearing the Ultimate “Get It Done” perfume today.
Accidentally compliant today, since my partial bottle of Diptyque Eau de Lierre just arrived. A light, springy green for a wet and windy day.
I think of this one as Corsica Furiosa Lite. Or maybe CF is Eau de Lierre Extreme!
It sounds like an excellent choice, it’s one Diptyque I haven’t tried.
Happy St. Patrick ‘s Day! 🍀 I’m green all over, wearing a dark green T, a sea-green cashmere hoodie, and Ormonde Woman. That last item inspired by springpansy.
I finally thunked the small decant of the OJ, which I’ve had for ages, and which I won’t be purchasing. I really, really wanted this to love this, but I don’t. I’ve read somewhere that certain facets of Vetiver give off a hazelnut note, and I get this here. Doesn’t work for me. But, now I can stop trying!
You smell good and green😊☘️
☺️ Thanks, allo.
Hoodie twins (although I’m not in cashmere)! ☘️
Love hoodies! This one is so old and still one of my favorites.
I think you smell wonderful even if it’s not for you! (Interesting note about the vetiver.) I wish I had some better green to wear. Wearing my one tee with some green. I guess I’m not much of a green person!
Thanks! I think green is the least popular color for clothes. You’re not alone there.
Green and I aren’t besties either. I can handle neon lime green and that’s about it.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I am in Hermes Vanille Galante, which for some reason just make me feel the color green, I guess it’s the banana leaves.
Interesting choice, I like it!
I’ll probably go with the Hillwood Museum’s Cocktails at Eight again. It’s a floral rather than a green perfume, but there is green in there, as there is so much of at Hillwood.
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ad/Hillwood_Estate_Japanese_Garden.jpg
Another lovely spot where you might wander with your cocktails at Hillwood 💚
https://image.pennlive.com/home/penn-media/pgfull/img/patriot-news/photo/2013/08/french-parterrejpg-1d5983b996c55285.jpg
:::Gasp::: That is stunningly gorgeous.
I’m in Eris Green Spell for the CP☘️Green has always been my favorite color and then I discovered that it’s also one of my favorite notes in perfume.
Oh yes. I just love the name Green Spell. Can’t remember what it smells like, but I’m sure it’s greeeeeeeen.
The Perfume Strong Room awaits!
😀
I love green perfumes too, especially if there’s a good dose of galbanum. You smell great!
Thank you!
Very nice! I have a travel spray of this from the discovery set.
It’s such a good go to green💚
Good morning from Saturday, I’m very glad it’s the weekend, Thursday and Friday at work seemed to drag on for ever.
Other than perfume, I made sure not to wear anything green yesterday to avoid the comments “Are you wearing that for St Patrick’s Day?” For the same reason, when I’ve gone a bit wild and dyed my hair green, I’ve avoided March 🙂
I’m wearing Scherrer today, it’s a lovely green, and didn’t cost a lot.
You smell elegant! I *almost* went with Scherrer today.
Me too!
Scherrer (autocorrect was changing it to Schaeffer) was a contender for sure, you smell wonderful.
I love Scherrer. Went with a different choice today, but you smell great!
taking a quick work break to announce that I am all in on the CP with Vent Vert (parfum, original).
Ah, the original green scent.
Ooh, lucky you! I’m twins with you in scent but not in strength.
We smell great! And very, very green.
Wow, you smell great! All in.
Gosh, original parfum no less…I don’t see how that doesn’t win the cp.
Popping in to say: OJ Ormonde Woman here. And very happy about it. Yay Friday!
With that forest note — perfect!
Makes me happy too!💕
Ooh, you smell great! I recently got my own FB and it’s divine.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep….
Coming back later!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
It’ll be a bit ‘o mayhem here with the Clan of two. The ancestral music has been blaring, some step 💃 and the corned beef and cabbage is marinating. For himself. For herself, it is the vegetarian version. Soda bread and Irish coffee will be the evening dessert.
A spot of tea, prior to said shower.
My perfume will either be Eeire, my cousin found from Ireland or another Irish perfume I can’t remember the name of. Innis? Not Guinness.😉
What a great celebration at your house, enjoy.
Have fun! 💚
I was listening to some Irish musicians at noon today. No corned beef and cabbage here, though. Today’s a fish day for me, with homemade tartar sauce. I will never go back to buying it!
Homemade tartar sauce, yum.
I learned today that I was missing out!
I make my own tartar sauce, too. Started during COVID when I ran out and didn’t want to go to the store. It’s so easy and so good!
I was shocked at how easy it is to make! The worst thing about it was chopping up the onion. 🧅😭
That sounds like a nice celebration!
I didn’t even think of the connection, but I bought a head of Savoy cabbage last weekend and couldn’t stop wanting cabbage this week. 🤔
Sounds like a perfect celebration! Is the fragrance called Innisfree? I bought a bottle of that as a souvenir in Ireland.
Smoothie is apples (Ariane variety) and yogurt
Happy St Patrick’s day to those who celebrate☘️; I was in Eau de Guerlain today for the CP, I almost went with Eden but I wear it often, EdG is as much about citrus but there are a lot of herbs, my bottle is oldish although not quite vintage as I wanted the lemony notes to be preserved at their best. Tonight it’s Le Couvent Fort Royal with its pink pepper (baies rose in French, Fragrantica got it wrong I suspect with listing it as ‘wild berries’) that lifts the vanilla and resins so that’s a radiant amber that is not oppressive.
Love Eau de Guerlain, great choice!
Thank you Robin, EdG is really good and will be even better when temps warm up.
It’s a sunny but cold and blustery, wintry day but I’m still goin’ with my favorite green scent for today’s cp, Balmain Vent Vert, the late 90’s edt version. I love everything about this fragrance, the bottle with its jaunty cap and perky polka-dot tie; its name and even the slant of the letters on the bottle that bespeak the breezy burst of galbanum inside ending in a soft oakmoss note. This is probably one of my top 5 scents.
I love music of all genres and always learn something new. This week I attended an Irish music performance and learned there was such a thing as an Irish polka. A couple of years ago two young brothers performed what I learned was a Russian rag. And prior to that, my favorite cellist was the featured musician at a tango event, and it was there I heard a Polish tango for the first time. The power of 🎶 unites us all!
Looking forward to lunch tomorrow with my son and grandkids. I’m proud to say my granddaughter got straight A’s this term; she studies very hard in her quest to become a doctor. Her twin bro is just as smart and studies hard too but his idea of HS is more a place to have fun!
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead!
Your grandkids will be in college before you know it.
😿 way too fast! They’ll be driving real soon! 🙀
Great choice! And congrats to the hardworking granddaughter, wow!
Since I couldn’t find my bottle of Envy, I’m wearing some vintage Coty Chypre. Still smells great!
Chypre is so special, I have a little 15ml, hope you will locate the missing Envy.
Thank you, Aurora. It is my original bottle from way back when. Maybe I finally used it up?
The stink of a controlled burn is in the air here, yuck! At least the temps are nice today.
SOTD = doubling down on Wrappings with both the perfume and the body smoother. Green and green!
I ❤️ it!
It’s perfect for today!
You smell wonderful!
Thanks! Wrappings is one of the few perfumes I have a BUB of.
Nice!
Thank you!
I am green with envy … not really, but you do smell fabulous!
I have you to thank for introducing me to Wrappings. So you have more regalia to add to your enabler’s wardrobe!
You smell great! Fantastic choice for today.
Thanks!
Hmm, I had every intention of wearing Bel Respiro, but the hand wanted B683. The hand got it’s way. Has anyone tried this in the extrait? I’m very curious.
Wearing a sea green hoodie today, so at least I’m dressed properly. Tried earlier to make a personal sized Irish soda bread, but the dough was really wet. I added a lot of extra flour but finally gave up and threw it in the oven. Not sure it’ll turn out, but my apartment smells great at least!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! ☘️
I don’t know what B683 is?
I hope your soda bread turns out well!
B683 is from Marc-Antoine Barrois, a spicy leather.
The soda bread was a hair underbaked, but it will get eaten!
I went with one very obvious choice, my recently acquired sample of Roxana Illuminated Perfume Green Witch, a complex green chypre featuring notes of galbanum, violet leaf and seaweed. In other words, green to the max with a very Irish sea motive. However, today’s very Irish rainy weather made me want to reach out for one perfume that is also very green and that I often crave on days like this, Ayala Moriel l’Écume des Jours, with its strange and fascinating mix of cassis, boronia, cedar moss and seaweed. Both perfumes are named after books, Susan Cooper’s Greenwitch and Boris Vian’s l’Écume des Jours respectively, and they are perfect to wear while reading a great book, curled up and warm at home when it’s raining outside. Both are radiating nicely, one from each hand: green, mossy, all natural magic, with a touch of “Sea hailed as a great sweet mother”, a little sprinkle of Joyce’s Ulysses. Photo of the two magic potions: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp52WmZOxy2/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
Those sound wonderful, and I loved Susan Cooper’s books when I was a child.
These are new to me. Intriguing. Will check them out! Love this site for learning about new fragrances like these.
I love green fragrances, so my only dilemma was which of many to wear! I went with Tom Ford’s Vert d’Encens for my work day but I may switch for the evening. Right now I have Piguet’s Bandit and Futur on my bedside table, and I love them both. Then there’s my beloved Chanel No. 19, and Silences, Eris’ Green Spell, and …
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone! I’m very excited about next week’s CP as I am devoted to William Morris and his designs.
Wear them all 🤣
Excellent idea!
Those TF Vert series perfumes weren’t around for very long, were they?
4 more hours until my weekend off! I’m glad because it’s supposed to be 3 degrees windchill with snow tomorrow morning and I plan on not being up for it!
I went with Cristalle for the cp. I am happy with my choice. 🌞
We’re Chanel twins!
When do you baby sit your niece?
Sunday afternoon.
You should be very happy with your choice, you smell great!
Thank you!
You smell good! And a big fat HURRAY for not having to go to work in the ugly weather this weekend!
SOTD = Chanel Eau Premiere EDP
Love it! Got this 40mL (?) bottle from a swap a looooong time ago.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp6EE4MONTl/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
When you tell a group of people they can do activity x starting today, PUHLEEZE do not, DO NOT, DO NOT send the instructions after 5PM Eastern today. I won’t work over the weekend doing this but I also won’t be wasting my breath criticizing them – they KNOW it is poor form.
I just got a new bottle of Eau Premiere at airport duty- free. I have one older, tall bottle and now I have the new one. Love them both! You smell great!
Thank you!
OK people’s, I left out No.5 for SOTD. It should be Chanel No.5 Eau Premiere EDP 🤦🏻♀️.
Sending instructions that late on a Friday is almost a guarantee they won’t even be looked at until Monday.
Seriously…
Love Eau Premiere and own the same 40 ml bottle, purchased years ago from a perfume friend who became sensitive to it. You smell great!
Thank you. I also have a new 100mL bottle still shrinkwrappped.
Soooo for SOTD I went with Comme de Garcons Calamus. Young, green leaves. But it was gone in a flash, so I tried CdeG Clash Celluloid Galbanum. Lush and delicious and … gone in flash. Ended up in minty modern green You or Someone Like from Etat Libre d’Orange. That one stuck. Is it just me or are the C deG’s fleeting on others??
My CdG Carnation barely lasted on me. 4 sprays lasted less than 20 minutes, if that. The SA when OsswaldNYC had a storefront in Brooklyn did not believe me so I ignored her the rest of the time I was there.
So weird, right? Also have sample CdG Chlorophyll Gardenia. Same deal. Like all these but ridiculously evanescent. At least on me. Boo.
I should have said Twisted Lilly in Brooklyn. OsswaldNYC was ALWAYS above board!
Some of the CdG perfumes are notorious for not hanging around for very long. So it isn’t just you.
Calamus was not exactly fleeting but not an all day experience on me. But also, my bottle turned, eventually.
I am in Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day, my first visit in 4 years seeing friends and family. Not very CP-aligned in Hermès “H24”, but I have enjoyed a perfume-themed day all the same, visiting The Burren Perfumery and trying all their scents. I got “Winter Woods*” for TOMK and both “Spring Harvest” (Mint, Lemonbalm and Fennel) and “Summer Harvest” (Meadowsweet, Lady’s Bedstraw and Chamomile) for myself. The perfumery is a cluster of small C19th farm buildings tucked away in a little dell sheltered under a copse of trees. As they also have great little café with amazing cakes, it was a very pleasant escape for the afternoon. 😀
* “Winter Woods opens with the freshness of Rosemary, Bergamot and Lemon, leads into subtle notes of Iris and Lavender and develops as a woody blend of Cedar, Pine and Vetiver”

Oh, lucky you!! And congrats on your new bottles, that sounds lovely.
Is there a big St Pats celebration where you are?
The parade in Galway lasts about 45 minutes but, as I arrived too late and couldn’treally see anything, I bailed after the 1st 2 groups. (Oddly enough, the est parade I ever saw was in Savannah, GA, where they really push the boat out). Since I had Carneval in Málaga last month & will have the amazing Semana Santa processions in April, I was very happy to skip the parade, sit in the sun with my sister and watch the swans on the silver-dappled water where the River Corrib rushes headling into the sea of Galway Bay. And then we went for a great brunch with my brother-in-law & nephews who had seen it all, so it all worked out well. 😀
That all sounds perfect! (And interesting about Savannah, I bet that’s fun.)
Wore Chanel No. 19 edt in vintage form. I sprayed my clothes so I can still smell it 8 hours later. Spent the day unpacking and grocery shopping. Laundry for tomorrow into next week!
After we get settled back in, there needs to be another household purge done. We cleaned out our personal closet at the condo so now have lots of duplicate kitchen things here. Plus clothes need another go-thru.
Happy Friday and weekend everyone!
Enjoy your weekend despite the laundry, Gail! I’m sure it’s lovely to be home.
Thank you, Robin. It is great being home! And I’m even enjoying the “mess”.
Good to hear that you are home safe and sound! Enjoy sleeping in your own bed tonight.
Thank you, Jalapeno! I sure will!
Glad you are home!
