You can get older colors on mark down usually. Right now there’s one on Best Buy for $279. There is also a smaller model.
I have never had one, I don’t really bake enough to need one. I have a 30 year old hand mixer.

I also forgot to congratulate Robin for her 18 year accomplishment. This is the only perfume blog that I read daily. I go to NST first for reviews, information etc. on anything perfume and scent related. SOTD is Nirvana Rose, about which I had totally forgotten. I really love the combination of rose and vetiver, which are two of my favorite notes.

I’m in OJ Sampaquita, which is not as rose forward as Ta’if, but it does share the same dna. Maybe Ta’if light, lol.
My teenager has a snow day today. When I got up and found out they had called school off, I felt like maybe they had jumped the gun a bit because there was a whole lot of nothing going on outside. Well, the snow has started and big, fat, fluffy flakes are coming down. It’s clinging to the branches outside my window. Hopefully it will be done by the time I have to drive home!🤞

I have lived in SE PA for 25+ years now, and this is the first time we have not had a single snow (other than a few very light dustings that melted within hours).

Ha! That’s exactly what happened here. I woke up to find school had been cancelled and was like, for what? Then it was like mother nature flipped a switch and it started coming down. I agree, very pretty. I was in my office with the window today, so it was nice to watch.
Spending the day in vintage no 22 edt. It’s pretty rosy and I am saving my Tauer offerings for tomorrow.

I’m in VCA Rose Rouge, another rose I don’t wear often but really enjoy. I got this when I was on a deep Julien Rasquinet dive and it shares a lot of DNA with another rich rose of his, BDK Tabac Rose.
allo, I fell down that same Rasquinet rabbit hole! Did you discover any of his other scents you like? I’m very curious about VCA Orchid Leather. And I finally tried Iris Cendre, I liked it a lot but it’s not an iris I feel I must have.
Hi tulipani! I haven’t tried Orchid Leather but I do have Iris Cendre, Bois d’Ascese, Tabac Rose, and an Oil Perfumery version of The Moon (because who can afford the real thing? Not me!).
I have tried Cuir Velours and his fragrances for Jusbox: Night Flow, Golden Serenade, Green Bubble and Black Powder and appreciated them but didn’t feel I had to have any of them.
Oh, and I tried Masque Milano Russian Tea which is beautiful.

I would not say the rose is very obvious in this one. But it is over all a very nice, civilized scent. I wear it when I might be in places where soemthing very obvious would not be a good idea.

I was driving Mr ringthing to PT this morning in the pouring rain when the windshield wiper on the driver’s side broke off…now that was stressful. As soon as we were done I got to the car place around the corner and got it replaced and by the time the guy was done, the sun was shining. I want to go back to bed and start over!
Yikes! The rubber wiper flew off or the entire assembly? Not a great thing either way in pouring rain. Glad the sun came out for you!!
The rubber wiper. We had an ice storm recently that apparently separated the rubber from the assembly. I was pretty freaked out!

Brisk morning and I’m sipping piping hot coffee and eating toasted apple cinnamon bread from a local bakery. I’m out of jam again but this delicious bread is perfect on its own, especially when toasted.
Wearing Kenzo Jungle l’Elephant today which must have rose in it somewhere because it has everything else, including the kitchen sink. Haven’t worn this one much this winter, probably because I was sidetracked by so many other ambers and vanillas. Still loving it and it feels like home to me. ☺️
Today is the start of move in day! Yay! Finally able to start transitioning everything into the new camper and I’m stoked! Yesterday was a bit of a rush rush day to get the truck up and back to Tacoma for the polymer coating, and then playing vehicle roulette trying to get both the van and the truck to the local state park. Hoping for a few day of good weather to make it easier, but I’m not holding my breath.

Thank you! It’s a very well laid out design which is probably why it’s the same as the campers this company made 15-20 years ago. They just updated decorative elements and appliances, but the actual layout is incredibly functional and feels roomy on the inside, which is one of the things that sold me on this particular brand.

I was a late reader yesterday, so happy belated birthday to NST, a daily treat for many of us!
I’m in Memoize Superbia, a lovely rose oud that feels like a more wearable version of some of the MFK ours. It’s less vanillic, but it’s reminding me a bit of Dior Addict in the far drydown.
I was tempted to feel sorry for myself that I can’t wear the much loved Ta’if (it gives me an instant headache) but was cheerfully reminded of all of the great roses out there. I have no idea which I’ll choose for tomorrow!
I can’t wear Ta’if either. When I first tried the OJ line I was in love with all of her fragrances, but something about that base has gone from true love to turning my stomach. I recently revisited Ta’if, and I added my sample to the giveaway bag. It was just. too. much.
I started today in Sampaquita and recently had to scrub. I guess I am done with OJ. But as you say, so many other perfumes out there to love!

Wearing a bit of Utopia Perfume House’s Bergamot Wood today, as a preview for an upcoming sniffapalooza event. The initial burst of bergamot is gorgeous – rich, bright, sunny – with a backbone of oil-rich woods and musk. I don’t get the spice note that they list. The incense is there as a minor supporting note that serves to make the bergamot more prominent by comparison. The musk takes center stage shortly thereafter. The description on their website notes that the perfume softens as it is worn which seems like a creative way of saying it fades quickly.
That is actually fine by me because I am on baby duty tonight, so no frags allowed.
Tea today is F&M’s Superb Assam again.
What? My samples are still in that tiny box. Plus, I don’t sample anything in advance anyway.

SOTD is Tauer’s Une Rose Chypree. It’s quite different from other rose chypre scents I know. The citrus is quite prominent in this one.
I like a citrusy rose, and can’t remember now why I did not love that one.

SotD for the CP: Rose & Cuir. Woke up thinking of Nirvana Rose, which I acquired from a lovely NST’er during a freebie/swap meet. Hmm, where IS that bottle? Searching, searching…took a break and logged on to NST and saw I even could be a *scent twin* with PriscillaE…searching… Several things intervened, such as we are having a windstorm, and another large and heavy limb fell from our poor dying tree that needed to be cut up and moved. Kept looking for NR but then came across a sample of FM Rose & Cuir that was a surprise gift from a favorite Ebay seller. I will find that Nirvana Rose! But I am loving Rose & Cuir. I’d want to graduate to a decant on this one; such a delightful, non-sweet rose with other fun scent-waves going on!

Sampling Agent Provocateur. I knew it reminded me of something, but I had no idea what. Luckily, someone on Fragrantica nailed it: Coriandre, an old favorite of mine.
Agent Provocateur is one of the few perfumes that I have a BUB of!

I decided to try a sample of M. Micallef Royal Rose Aoud this morning. During an annoying perfume store visit many years ago, I was given a whole bunch of deluxe samples from this line, because they were trying really hard to upsell me into a more expensive line than what I was after. I was unimpressed at the time, and haven’t opened them in years, so I thought I’d try when a rose perfume poked out of the sample stash. I’m still unimpressed.
I think I’ll go upstairs and put on Ta’if now.
SotE last night was from the ELdO sample box — Hermann à mes côtés, which I liked. On me it was a fairly linear rose balsam (though I know balsam isn’t one of the notes).
Your perfume store experience made me chuckle — I’ve had similar experiences and I don’t think the sales associates realize that they’re putting us off with the pushiness 😂 My most recent pushy experience was at the Harmonist counter and now I walk away fast whenever I see their bottles.
Didn’t manage to stop by yesterday, so Happy Birthday to NST 🌹.
I wore Molton Brown Rosa Absolute EDT, very fruity on me today and tonight it’s a heavy hitter, Caron Parfum Sacré, I know I will still smell it tomorrow until I shower.

Yesterday was not a CP day, but I wore Stella the day before. Today is Nicolai Rose Oud from a sample I got when purchasing a bottle of Kiss Me Intense. I’m pretty much ignorant on the Oud front, but I do like this one.
Just finishing late lunch after morning remote work. Boston Clam Chowder from my local market (and other job). Tasty on a dreary day. We’ve had sunshine most of the week. Was supposed to snow today, but it’s been mainly just damp and gray. I did step away from my desk to feed the herd of deer…my husband is out of town, and I know he’ll ask if I fed them.
I may double dip on rose today and put on Ta’if after I shower this evening.
Well, so much for speaking too soon. It’s now really coming down. And the deer came back…

Again, I am way off base in Chanel Coromandel EDP, layered over Les Indemodables Musc des Sables from the night before. They give the same vibe to me, might be the cool iris-powdery quality over a sweet base. Both scents match the cream sweater I have on very well.

You can still make a pizza, refrigerate it and have it for breakfast or lunch tomorrow. I have it on good authority that day old pizza is better than the fresh ones.

There’s an excellent Mom & Pop pizza place that we routinely order from whenever the mood strikes. I couldn’t decide on which of their pies to get. But yes, day old pizza makes a very tasty lunch, which is why we typically order more than one meal’s worth.
I missed posting yesterday because I had various appointments and plans, among which was a visit to Nordstrom where I think I have not stepped foot since the start of the pandemic. They’ve moved some things around; I still can’t find any clothes I like (Ugh, ruffles, puffed sleeves, floral prints, little short dresses, sequins!), but they have added more perfume lines. They have a row of free-standing little booths for things like Creed, Perfumes de Marly, Amouage, etc. I tried a couple from the Marly line and was taken with their newest one, Valaya. It’s a soft musky scent with citrus and peach top notes. All of these are super expensive but they were nice enough to give me a tiny sample–they keep little boxes on the counter with sample vials to be filled, so I asked–how about that? I also loved their classic one, Delina, which does have a lot of rose. Valaya has something called “Ambrofix” which they allege is 100% natural. I’ve never heard of it, and it does not bother me but I don’t often feel a lot of sensitivity to the new molecules. (Read about it here: https://us.parfums-de-marly.com/pages/valaya.)
The SA who was helping me also took me over to their Byredo counter to show me some things he liked there including two different rose scents, but I still haven’t found a real lemming among their scents.
I had painting class today and the teacher singled out what I was doing to show the class, saying “C is doing something very nice here with the greens at the bottom of this painting, but I don’t know what she thinks she’s going to do with this yellow.” Everyone laughed including me. Class is fun and I’m sorry that next week is the last one.
When they told me the perfumes for Marly are all named after horses from King so-and-so’s stable (whichever French Louis it was) I burst out laughing. The remark did not have the effect on me that was intended.
I was at Nordstrom this past Sunday and will be going back again to pick up my La Mer purchases. I did not stop by the perfume counters as I don’t like the perfume SA on duty.
Is there another watercolor class you can take? You are doing great!
There are a lot of SAs on duty at the one in the Galleria here. I liked the guy I happened to get, have not met him before.
Our watercolor class teacher will do an advanced class but not until early April. After this class I might enroll in her class on Sketching. It’s not something I especially want to do but it’s supposed to be helpful for getting you to do better with shapes and perspective, etc. I appreciate your nice comment.

I have two freebies, carded manufacturer’s atomizer samples and I don’t recall ever spraying them. U.S. only, must be a regular NST poster and the same rules apply as to if the package is lost, I cannot replace them as they are one-of-a-kind for me.
