French niche house Serge Lutens has launched Poivre Noir, a new fragrance in the brand's Collection Noire.
OBVIOUSLY! Peppery, exhilarating , elegant.... Poivre noir, to rediscover a taste for yourself!
Yes, that's all.
Serge Lutens Poivre Noir is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Update: additional notes include nutmeg and cedar.
I’ve lost interest in Serge Lutens other than for the ones I already have.
I would say the same.
It used to seem sort of potentially cool to me, the lack of interest in providing information, but given the many changes in the fragrance industry over the years, it has started to seem like a general lack of respect for the customer.
Plus, helps that it’s been so long since I’ve loved a new SL.
Robin, did you try Fils de Joie? I suspect it is not your style, but I thought it was excellent.
No, I didn’t. If I ever go back to department stores and I see it, I would try it.
And when I say I’ve lost interest I don’t mean I would never try one again, just that years of disappointment means it is no longer a priority to get a sample asap, the way it used to be 🙂
hajusuuri, I was way late to the niche, and SL, party, but I found some SL post-millennial versions to be very wearable, available at decent prices, and just “that much better” than mainstream brands. I wonder about this one…hope springs eternal and all that…
Hey, at least they didn’t hype this up too much with the description..less disappointment lol. Black pepper notes and?whatever? Alright lol.
I was really disappointed with that one..I forget the name..I was so intrigued, “from the depths I cried” or died..idk what haha. What I thought was going to be pure melancholy was kind of a happy musk. Lol
De Profundis 🙂
I began to get disillusioned with Lutens around 2010, when the bandwagon-jumping L’Eau Serge Lutens was released, and then the disappointing Vitriol d’Oeillet the next year (not carnationy enough and certainly not vitriolic), and then more misses than hits, until I finally gave up on the line altogether. And I was a *huge* fan before that. I’ll probably try this one when I’m in Toronto and MontrĂ©al this fall; maybe it’ll be a return to form, but I am not hopeful.
I really liked Fils de Joie and des Clous pour une PĂ©lure, but SL has been more misses than hits for me lately. This one sounds very boring.
