Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Lights ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 4 April 2022 10 Comments

Sarah Jessica Parker has launched Lovely Lights, a new flanker to 2005's Lovely.

Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Lights Eau De Parfum (100ml) is the latest edition to Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely collection of esteemed fragrances. Inspired by the energy of New York City as well as the spirit and bright lights of the world-famous Broadway, Lovely Lights encapsulates these facets, encouraging those to be inspired with the passion to celebrate each other and ourselves.

Designed in collaboration with Senior Perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, this fragrance is a floral adventure of luscious flowers and warm woods. The fragrance takes you on a journey, enticing you with opening notes of zesty, sweet Mandarin, Honeysuckle and Neroli before developing into a floral heart of Gardenia, Jasmine and Cashmeran. Lovely Lights then settles to reveal a nestled base of Musks, Sandalwood and Modern Amber. The bottle dazzles with creamy pink tones, bright lights enhancing the logo and a loosened bow tie collar, all capped with an enchanting gold stopper.

Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely Lights is available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends — it gives a lovely light!

Lol. It gives gardenia and white musk which are not to my delight:).

Now First Fig would be a wonderful name for a perfume. This? Well, the bottle reminds me of hair conditioner bottles in the 1980s, mostly. Not a huge fan of SJP, but I do think she has a lot of New York style–unlike this bottle. I’m guessing she is not involved in the marketing of the flankers.

I do not usually comment negatively on bottles — there are some I love and some about which I do not have strong feelings. This one, I hate. YMMV!

That said, I know that both original Lovely and Stash are pretty highly regarded on NST — I’ve never smelled either (will remedy that when the opportunity arises).

Yes, I was grousing about the bottle, only. Although I’ve sniffed Lovely, I am not recalling my impression. I quite like Stash though–Not subtle and probably very unsafe for work. But it has garnered me loads of compliments over the years. Bombastic woodsy oriental–also in a pretty meh bottle (although not as weirdly unattractive (IMHO) as this one!)

Lovely is one of my most worn fragrances, since there’s a scent ban at work and Lovely flies under the radar really well. It is pleasant and does the job. I haven’t tried many of the flankers, but I do really like Lovey You, which is quite powdery.

So I’ll be trying this! Why not!

      Why not, exactly.

I’m guessing Modern Amber = Ambroxan. Ugh. I think I’ve become hyperosmic to it, it singes my nose.

Well, they managed to make the original tasteful bottle look tacky, so there’s that.
