The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 18 February 2022 5 Comments

I have no makeup that needs fixing, but this pretty bottle caught my eye anyway: Clarins Fix Make-up in Rose Myrtle. "Fall in love with this limited edition Fix' Make Up, inspired by the rose myrtle flower! A light and refreshing mist that sets makeup and gives longer-lasting hold. Enriched with aloe vera and allantoin, it instantly moisturises and soothes the skin. Its delicate rose myrtle-inspired scent provides a continuous sense of well-being. A simple spray for long-lasting makeup!" €28 at Clarins in Ireland (it does not appear to be in the US yet, but here you can still buy last year's limited edition Fix Make-up Sakura, $32).

I don’t need any makeup fixing either, but a pretty scented moisture spray sounds nice!

Is that all a makeup fixer is?? I honestly have no idea. I would have thought anything really moisturizing would make your makeup run.

Plus, I think they stole the name from MAC, who’s have had a Fix and Fix+ since the age of the dinosaurs…

Oh, it’s a fixative, rather than a repairer…when out in dry dry Wyoming, I am willing to spritz almost anything on my face that doesn’t turn sticky when it evaporates (7 – UP, for instance, is not a good idea!) Here in Michigan in the summer when the temperature is 89 degrees but the humidity is 94%, there is no point in spraying anything on your face, it will just mingle with the sweat (oh, or dew, or , glow or however we refer to it these days) and run in your eyes and sting more…I guess what I am trying to say is, that is a pretty little bottle, but the contents have nothing to do with my life. Who actually uses something like this? :-)

I don’t know, but several brands sell these sorts of things, so somebody must!
