Monday, again. Birthdays: Charles Dickens, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Sinclair Lewis, Eubie Blake. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm staying warm in Hermès L’Ambre des Merveilles.
Reminder: 2/11 will be Duet Friday... wear two perfumes, one on each wrist or arm. You can choose two that seem made for each other, that bring out something special in each other, or that compete for the spotlight? (Suggested by Kanuka, who listed as inspiration Lakme’s flower duet, Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood singing Jackson, Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett crooning softly in your ear, Billy Idol and Miley Cyrus belting out Rebel Yell.)
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2022, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Ooh first today!- I’m nice and cosy in Coromandel today.
I haven’t finished reading pol yet, i’m reading a great book called ‘The Silk House’ by Kayte Nunn, if you enjoy historical fiction, with a contemporary character woven in (punn intended!), 18th century Spitalfields, wise women/witches, and a bit of haunting and mystery thrown in, this one’s for you my friends, it is well written and researched, and an engrossing comfort read.
You smell great!
Thanks madtowngirl!
I love when people share what they are reading!
Me too, this is a good one!
Lovely photo! I’m in the singular sensation that is Au Coeur du Désert. My cap to the baby 5ml bottle broke yesterday, so I ended up wearing a little more than than planned. One or two people may have noticed..?
My travel size of Profvmvm Ambra Aurea is arriving today, and it will be that last unnecessary purchase I make, until I don’t. ? Seriously though, trying to establish just how cheap I can live over the next couple months as an experiment. We’ll see how long it lasts, but I’m kind of looking forward to it.
What sparked this experiment was paying just about $10 for an OJ and a simple bagel with cream cheese. There was a thin smear on one side only, plus it was burned to boot! And since when did a carton of egg beaters cost $7?! I need to change my wicked money spending ways…
So sorry the cap broke! Did you find a way to keep it covered? I have a mini of LADDM, and while cute, it really suffered from evaporation.?
Enjoy your travel spray! Wish every line had travel sprays.
Yes and no. It’s a cap within a cap, and the black square part broke in half. Under that is a small clear single twist stopper that still screws on but it seems to be misaligned in someway so it doesn’t screw on straight. I’m sure there is some evaporation. I can’t lie if flat because then it leaks….
This inflation is infuriating!
Yes, it is! I feel like it just wings out of my pocket like a wild bird escaping captivity…???
I thought of you when I saw this video clip ( because it involves a beautiful location and wildlife). A kea, a mountain parrot, was being filmed on a go pro when it stole the camera and flew off…the camera stayed recording. It’s cool. And doesn’t cost a cent ( double win)!
https://www.stuff.co.nz/travel/127688437/kea-steals-gopro-from-hut-on-kepler-track-ends-up-making-stunning-short-film
I saw that and laughed! What a ride…?
Deva, belated thanks for the excellent reading list you posted over the weekend. I am familiar with some of those authors, but far from all. But yes, Edna O’Brien is a force to be reckoned with.
Good luck with the low-spending plan. I have a decant of Amber Aurea. Beautiful, but not really me. I hope you love it!
Thanks, I hope your stay in Ireland is grand!
I’ve had sticker shock getting groceries the last few trips.
Me too.
Cute picture.
Monday already? Ugh, that came fast. I love my job but when my alarm went off this morning I just wasn’t feeling it. Then on the way to work, two separate annoying drivers were tailgating me!? I hate that, and it just makes me drive even slower, lol.
I’m in Molton Brown Milk Musk, EDP on one wrist and EDT on the other.
I have the same reaction to tailgaters. I even talk to them (not that they’d notice), usually saying (or shouting) “you’re just slowing me down, pal”! Grrr.
I am with you on the milky note today. I was dusting my collection this weekend, which is always this great journey of rediscovery. (Ooooh, wow, I forgot about this! And that! And that!?) I came across my bottle of Costume National 21, and I am loving the milk and spice comfort on this cold day. Here’s hoping it will give nice comforting vibes on parent teacher conference day.
21 is soooo good!LoveLove
Tailgating is just like bullying.
Exactly.
Yep.
I drive the posted speed when I’m tailgated.
lol, if I get tailgated while driving the posted speed, I slow down below it!
Charles Dickens! Interesting fact: At the treasures exhibit at the library there is Dicken’s letter opener made out if the paw of his cat Bob who passed…
For the CP: Jersey by Chanel on one wrist and Tiziana Terenzi Cassiopea. Both a beautiful fragrances when you want to feel fresh and clean. Cassiopea is slightly sweeter, but the two compliment each other very well.
I am in all chanel makeup for a zoom call-had two cappuccinos to wake up. Stayed up a little late watching the olympics. Mondays…
Since I missed the reading poll over the weekend I just wanted to comment to Robin that I loved Memorial and Vanishing half. I read both last year.
Right now I am knee deep in a book that weighs a brick, To Paradise***The book is made up of 3 books and I am on the last one. Its about 700+ pages. The book takes place between NYC and Hawaii so you can go tropical or scents of the city while reading this one.
Next on my list is Shuggie Bain. The author is coming out with a new book this year so I wanted to read something he wrote in the past.
**I didn’t read Little Life, and a lot of my friends asked me if To Paradise is similar and I have no idea. After some digging I think they are wanting to know if the book has violence. After being 300 pages in there is nothing of that nature but I still have 400 more pages to go..
I was waiting for you to be on the reading poll this weekend. You read some of the same types of books as I do so I listed quite a few.
I have Shuggie Bain on my list too.
Do you like To Paradise? I have never read anything by this author.
I went to your poll, I also have Love Hypothesis & Maid on my list…
How are you liking Family Chao?
So far I liked the first “book” in To Paradise and the second book not so much. I started the 3rd book and it is very intriguing. Its very serious compared to what I usually read, but its very well written and I love books that take place in NYC!
I finished Family Chao this weekend. I thought it was well written. I try to read the monthly book club selection from Barnes and Noble and this was for February. Some of the books I really enjoy and others are meh. This one was quite good.
I meant to comment yesterday on The Family Chao. I read an interview with the author and she said the inspiration for the book was The Brothers Karamazov (which I’m re-reading right now). I found that so interesting. I gather that it does feature three brothers from the same family. In other ways the plot isn’t similar but she supposedly drew upon Dostoevsky’s style of keeping everything exciting by writing in the present tense. If I can re-find that interview, I’ll post a link to it. It made me want to read her book.
Yes, it is based on that Calypso. I read a similar article.
You might need tissues on hand for Shuggie Bain. It’s very moving.
uh oh! Hmm..not in the mood for a tears
I might have read Vanishing Half because of you…pretty sure it was because of somebody here!
Memorial I read because the excerpt in the NYer was so compelling.
I am happy to be a book enabler
Memorial was very good. I think there was one part I needed to reach for my hanky.
I liked Vanishing Half too. Haven’t read Memorial, but have seen it on the shelves. May have to try it.
Memorial is good!
LTSG-
I may purchase this tomorrow. Thanks.
I listened to Vanishing Half and loved it.
Haven’t worn TF Black Orchid in ages. Today seemed like the perfect day for that dark, mysterious strangeness.
I almost went with TF today!
Me three! Black orchid too.
LOL. I wore this yesterday. It is becoming one of my favorites.
I’ve been craving Black Orchid! You smell wonderful.
Monday! The window construction crew is here… hope this is their last day. The cat very much wants this to be his last day in jail in the laundry room.
We went on a 5 mile hike yesterday. Lovely day! Feet are a bit tired today.
Sampling is on the perfume agenda for today.
Fingers crossed for you pixel…hope they finish up and get out of there!
Huzzah for having windows and a door again, and that the end is in sight! Your poor kitty must be stir crazy at this point.
I’ve got Palo Santo on my right wrist, and Oui Plus! on my left, for no other reason than I was in a hurry this morning, and these were the first two decants my eyes landed on.
Properly fortified, I’m going to try to focus and get some work done early, before all the minutiae of the day floods into my email inbox.
Smell good, all.
Good morning.
Sotd is JM Red Roses on the left and Peony Blush Suede on the right.
With JMs I can do this all week.
Currently drinking rose and vanilla tea.
This sounds like a good pairing, and I do have both.Maybe tomorrow then! How did you like it?
That’s a good combination. I have several JMs too. I might have to do a combination from Jo Malone on Friday.
So true about the JMs, they’re tailor-made for this project! I may try a twist on that, though, and “duet” with some of the recent Zara fragrances that the perfumer Jo Malone created.
My sister and I had the best week together! Just like the two birds on the tree!
perfect weather, perfect meals, perfect chat time and walk the beach time. all just wonderful.
Up at 5 for work. yuk. Tea for Two today.
Your time with your sister sounds lovely and you chose a fragrance that sums up your week and the CP:)
Yay for a great visit!
Boo for 5 am work!
That sounds like a lot of fun ?
I love today’s photo, and love it more now thinking it’s you and your sister enjoying the week spent together!
yes, two birds of a feather we are!
So glad!!
So happy for you and your sister! This is all just wonderful ❤️
Yay for your sister week!
Very pleased to hear that you and your sister had a wonderful time!
So happy to hear about your catch-up with your sister!
Glad you had such a good time!
I’m un-CP this morning in Champaca on both wrists, both elbow crooks, both sides of the neck and a bit on the midriff. The painters will just have to like it … if they can even smell me through their masks. Like pixel’s kitty, I was itching to get out of Construction Jail this morning. Unlike pixel’s, our project will go on for another week or two … but everything will be so fresh and pretty when they get done, so I can’t really complain too much (all evidence to the contrary). ?
Also unlike pixel, I assume, you are not living without heat while they paint 🙂
And you do smell fantastic!
The sample basket coughed up 4160 Tuesdays’s Pillow Talk today, which I think I like better in some heat.
My absurd sample order for my weekend sniffing plans with a friend is scheduled to arrive today. It will take all of my willpower to set them aside until Friday.
Excited to hear all about your sniffathon this weekend!Always fun.
Currently in Happy today. Went to the park with Sydney yesterday. The snow was really bad in a couple spots and fell over a couple times. My ankles are pretty bruised and walking in the park is going to have to wait until the snow melts.
I’ve never tried Happy, hoping it’s well-named and distracts you from sore ankles.
Ouch, so sorry!
Happy Monday!
I guess Jo Malone is a no-brainer house for this week’s CP!
I went with Wood Sage and Sea Salt on the left,Amber and Lavender cologne on the left.During the day I topped up at various times with both,so it became a layering/side-by-side mashup. The Amber and Lavender was the clear winner though, mostly drowning out Wood Sage and Sea Salt. They’re both part of a set of 5 I bought eons ago,I guess the idea was that they all would layer well mixy-matchy,but this pairing was fairly one-sided.Still,I smelled lovely.
XO’s!?✌?
*Amber and Lavender on the RIGHT…lol.
Another good combination.
I saw your video about the flooding in your area this weekend. WOW! The first words out of my mouth were not at all NST safe… Glad to hear that you are high and dry.
I’ve got Cuir d’Iris on my left arm and Arabian Horse on my right, both by Parfumerie Generale, or rather Pierre Guillaume as he changed years ago to put all his perfume lines under his name. I’ve thought these two were very similar for a while, and I love how doing the side by side brings out both their similarities and differences. Arabian Horse is much more floral with narcissus predominantly, but the leathery, animalic notes are similar to those in Cuir d’Iris. I’d call Cuir d’Iris an oily leather.
Cuir d’Iris was discontinued, but I found a bottle a couple years ago. Arabian Horse is the most expensive of PG’s perfumes but of course I still really want it. I don’t think it would be superfluous to have both.
Sounds like you have a winner!
I wore Perles de Lalique today and my receptionist asked if i used nail varnish in my office, must have been the ISO E Super, she sure didnt like it….
Found a 30ml bottle of Patou Joy EDT at TK Maxx for cheap, so i blindly bought it. Its mostly Jasmine and Civet on my skin, not too bad. Funnily it reminds me a bit of Salome, but much more well behaved and civilised…
I think you smell terrific — I LIKE Perles de Lalique. It reminds me a bit of L’Artisan Passage d’Enfer, except more peppery.
I love old Joy 🙂
SOTD is Chanel 5 L’eau today.
Question-Has anyone tried any of the Byredo oils?
I haven’t tried the Byredo oils but everything by Byredo seems to be good. I am wearing a lipstick from them today and love it.
Thanks. I was thinking with the lotion added it may be a good option rather than the perfume.
I bought a Byredo eyeliner and its great.
which color? How do you like the texture?
I’ve only sniffed the perfumes, and haven’t tried any of the oils, sorry.
Thanks Jalepeno. I just received Pulp perfume the other day. I didn’t even realize Byredo had oils. I had a sample of Gypsy Water that I liked, but thought it was a little faint. Someone mentioned that adding the lotion would strengthen it. I would agree with that and then started thinking maybe the oil with the lotion would be good to try. Just a thought.
I found Gypsy Water to be faint as well, so it might just be how you experience that perfume. I had better luck with Flowerhead, Bal d’Afrique, and Bibliotheque.
Not quite what you were looking for but Undina and I co-wrote a post on Byredo in 2016, way back when there were only a few perfumes in the Byredo line:
https://undina.com/2016/06/04/six-by-byredo-two-perfumistas-impressions/
This was a great read. Other than Gypsy Water it doesn’t sound like you were too impressed by Byredo. I don’t know that I am either and the prices are pretty steep. I did get Pulp though I know this is an odd one too. I like it for certain days, but not often.
Having a damnable day, but so happy that Ysatis (edt) exists. This is not one I wore way back when, so I am pleased to discover it now.
Oh,another goody!I might do a Rochas side by side tomorrow!!Ysatis and….???
Lol.Givenchy.I dunno why I associate Ysatis with Rochas…
It’s so glorious!
Sorry about your day ( and the identity theft earlier). It will soon be Tuesday and hopefully better.
Sorry to hear that your Monday is definitely MONDAYING.
I was walking in the graveyard yesterday, smelling the roses, when I heard a terrible crying/ screeching sound that was half-baby, half strangled-bird. Tracked it down and it turned out to be a very young hedgehog! It had gone down a bushy bank and onto a concrete grave. The grave was all broken up and nice and dirty but it had a low perimeter wall made of concrete ( think concrete swimming pool but 12 inches ) and the hedgehog wouldn’t have been able to get out again. It was such a heart rending sound and I’ve never heard it before. Lifted it out and off it went. Here’s what the sound was like.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QITxkIz2jzw
Wearing Daim Blond on one wrist and Ambre des Merveilles on the other. A nice duet.
Glad you could rescue the poor wee thing! I’d never thought about what noise a hedgehog might make.
Poor little thing! We just rescued a hummingbird which had flown inside — the construction crew has all the doors open. All good now.
I used to live in an apartment with a great plate-glass wall/window/door that Hummingbirds were constantly flying into and killing themselves on. It was so sad. I would sometimes pick one up and admire its tiny emerald beauty.
Kanuka, I’m just so glad you were able to rescue the poor hedgehog!
Animals in distress just break your heart. I hope your pain is more manageable today. That Convalescence book is written by a Scottish doctor, so very UK in focus. It’s not a self help book but helpful nevertheless.
I already downloaded it onto my Kindle!
I hope you get something from it. I did
Also very happy you answered its cry and were able to rescue the little hedgehog!?♥️
Oh my! A big noise from a tiny set of lungs! Thanks to your boost out of the concrete pool, I’m sure it’s reunited with its family. Now you can add “Super Hero” to your list of attributes!
On the way to the supermarket this morning I saw a freshly squashed hedgehog on the road …win some, lose some.
Wow, that is a disturbing cry! Glad that you were able to rescue the one hedgehog.
I’m joining PL67 in roses this week, and I spent a little time planning, so I’ll also be racking up CP points with two scents everyday that have some overlap beyond rose to see how they compare, contrast, and combine.
Today is Nicolai’s Rose & Oud and Chantecaille’s Darby Rose, which are both reported to have raspberry, osmanthus, patchouli, and sandalwood. R&O is richer and heavier with oud and warm furry castoreum, and has a head-up-shoulders-back aspect from the LOTV. DR is much sharper and brighter with lemon and cassis, and more prominent raspberry than R&O. The magnolia in DR is about as intense as the rose, whereas the rose in R&O is the most dominant floral. Sniffed together, I’m not loving the lemon against oud and castoreum.
Drinking snowflake tea this morning, because we had a sprinkling of them outside when I work up. I missed the book poll this weekend, but am looking forward to checking it out. I was on a good run of reading super-best-sellers and high school classics that I had skipped (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Handmaid’s Tale) but lately have been striking out. I like audiobooks, and that is part of the issue — great books don’t always make great audiobooks. Hoping to get back on track with your suggestions.
The books that you read when you were on a run are good ones. I can’t say much for audiobooks as I haven’t tried them but have heard mixed reviews.
This week’s CP is so up my alley! I love wearing scents side by side, not so much for layering but more for compare and contrast. I especially love doing it for notes that are unfamiliar to me or with scents that remind me of one another, so that I can discern the differences.
Today’s pick is carnation. I’m wearing Oeillet Bengale and Vitriol d’oeillet. Vitriol is not smelling too much of carnation to me anymore, it did when I first sprayed it. It’s reminding me a touch of La Fille de Berlin, but they have no notes in common!
Nice!!!!Carnation overload!I don’t have many carnation scents,and that really is a huge pity,I love the clove-vibe!
Oh I LOVE Vitriol. Sometimes I think it might be my favourite Serge, which seems crazy of me, but it is so unlike anything else I have and I do love carnation as well but finding good, modern carnations is hard…and you have also given me an idea for Friday, with Vitriol and La Fille side by side, so really, this is all making me very happy ?thanks!
Vitriol is taking me on an amazing journey. Now in the drydown, I’m really getting the lily. I almost smell Un Lys (which I haven’t smelled in over a decade)!
Smelling GREAT today!
Ooh, you smell great! I love both Vitriol d’Oeillet and L’Artisan’s Oeillet Sauvage. Carnation — lovely!
I wanted so much to love Vitriol d’Oeillet and was dying to see what Uncle Serge would do with carnations — and it was so tame, so boring! I love a really potent carnation like the CdG version, Caron Coup de Fouet, or Guerlain Terracotta Voile d’Ete, and the Lutens was just kind of nothing. I was so disappointed.
Oh! These are good recommendations, thank you.
I’m inadvertently participating in the CP today. I sprayed on Guerlain’s AA Figue-Iris before I realised I could still smell last night’s perfume all over my clothes. That was Arte Profumi’s Velvet Rouge, which is pretty potent. They go quite well together, I don’t know what notes I’m smelling, but it’s a pleasant haze.
Similar thing here! I started out with the decant of Light Blue italian Zest, and then accidentally added L’Autre Oud from a nearly identical decant bottle. The former was utterly obliterated.
In Frederic Malle Lipstick Rose. A big rose favorite in my collection!
Happy Monday, everyone! ?
How does it stack up against Misia? I’ve sniffed both, but at wildly varying times…
Lipstick Rose is richer and deeper. Misia is lighter, softer. I love and own Misia, but it will never rival with LR.
It rained again today, so your rose perfume might have smelled extra good!
I smelled pretty awesome! ?
In Bottega Veneta today. Wore 31 RC yesterday and, TBH, found it overwhelming. Weird.
Erk, something similar happened to me at the weekend – I got all dressed up for something, wore 31 RC to be elegant, and I was in a cloud of harsh instead. Not at all what I was expecting.
Curioser and curioser. Maybe it is a moon-phase thing?
?Definitely worth trying again and testing that theory, but it was certainly a bad surprise, and I usually feel like the moon is quite friendly towards me?
You smell really good today!
Now that is odd. I have never had that happen with 31 RC. Now watch, the next time I wear it I will find it overwhelming as well.
Hello everyone! Started the day in 3 sprays from an old bottle of Chanel No. 19 and it powered me through my day ? After work I went to a department store to do some sniffing. Tried Mugler Alien and Alien Goddess on paper, recognised the Alien but don’t know how to describe it – the Goddess definitely seems warmer and more cuddly but I don’t think either one is for me, hmm, at least not today – and then sprayed a few other things so now I am wearing Synthetic Jungle (faint fresh edge but mainly soapy), DS and Durga Rose Atlantic (I thought it was Hermès rhubarbe ecarlate at first, and now it is still definitely rhubarb and not rose) and TF Rose de Russie (which seems a lot like Rose Atlantic, but the rhubarb note with a tiny dose of spice). These all smell so different to what I expected that I think the old Chanel must have broken my nose this morning ? Wishing you all a good week!
Perfume overload is a Real Thing!
I always think of it as “clogged receptors” … that’s my entirely non-scientific explanation.
I like that explaination!
🙂
I had a shower today! YAY! My first one since last Thursday–first post-surgery. It is so nice to feel clean again. Baby steps. Of course now I’m exhausted and back in bed icing my leg. My entire upper leg has turned an alarming shade of midnight purple. (It’s expected but still looks awful.). I put on “Friday” today and am getting some kind of weird banana note from it. Maybe my nose is off.
I read about the new Memo Iberian Leather. Not being much of a leather fan, I found myself wondering, how many leathers can they come up with? Isn’t this something like their sixth one or so? Is this a good thing, for some of you? It just seems weird.
Yay for your shower and hope you heal quickly and feel better!
I totally understand the joy of a long awaited shower! Hope you are recovering well!
Hurray for that shower, but Oy Vey on what your poor leg looks like!
Ouch, the dark purple hue of your leg sounds painful! I hope it eases soon. Is it too painful to touch/massage?
Ouch ouch but there’s something to be said about feeling freshly showered clean. I think Memo has way more than 6 leathers, at least double or even triple the number.
SotD is Bois d’Iris from Van Cleef & Arpels.
Yummy salty woods.
You smell fabulous!
I’m wearing Chanel Gardenia today and testing paint colors for the condo. I’m terrible at this so it may take me a while to decide. So far, one is too blue, one is too dark, and one is too lilac. I’ll bet Coco Chanel didn’t waffle over her color choices like I do.
Good luck with that. There are so many choices out there. I have been watching the Winter Olympics. Some of the moves ( skating, ski jumps) just make me dizzy
Paint colors are hard! We need to repaint our entry/stairwell which is an off-white that mostly looks yellow in our lighting. Want a white that doesn’t read yellow. There are a LOT of whites out there…
My friend who advised us knowledgeably (she used to be a highly paid decorator) swears by Benjamin Moore Simply White, and we have on all the trim and ceilings in our house. It’s nice — it reads “warm” without reading yellow.
Yes, and if you want less warm (less yellow undertone), Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace — that’s my go-to white. It is crisp but not too cold. Since most of my wall colors are cool shades, it means I can use it as the only white in my house (both trim throughout, and I have it on my kitchen walls).
https://www.kylieminteriors.ca/the-8-best-benjamin-moore-white-paint-colours-undertones-and-more/
The one exception in my house is my bathroom, which sadly has biscuit/bone colored tile and fittings … that room has Chantilly Lace trim and Cotton Balls (a creamy white) on the walls.
Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee is the BEST WHITE PAINT EVER!
We had white paint turning yellow problems but didn’t want a white white. Then I peered into my neighbor’s house with paint envy, knocked on the door and discovered the answer to all of my paint dreams, Swiss Coffee!
Disclaimer: if I had to say which color direction it leans, I would say brown but in the most subtle way.
My stepmother uses Swiss Coffee, would agree with mocha-ish undertones.
It took me forever to pick paint colors! That said, I am mostly happy with what I have.
Been watching some of the Winter Olympics lately. I don’t have the attention span for a book anymore. I used to read all the time, right thru college and a few years afterwards. If I’m lucky, I can read a magazine in a reasonable amount of time.
SOTD = Sana Jardin Celestial Patchouli, from the Sample Stash and lillyjo. I’ve been wearing this one for the last 3 days. It’s even more snuggly than Tiger By Her Side. ??
I have been enjoying the Olympics as well. My hubby isn’t much on the figure skating, but I have made him watch it anyway. I haven’t gotten too many complaints out of him. See what I can con him in to watching tonight. LOL.
Unfortunately, the figure skating was on at the same time Big Air was, so I had to pick one. Had a couple of *very* late nights over the weekend watching stuff.
Snuggly sounds good. Not watching the Olympics because I normally don’t anyway. I hope you’re enjoying the various events!
I am, but sometimes what I’d like to see is on at “Are you freaking kidding me?” o’clock. Hoping that I can catch some of what I’ve missed by watching On Demand.
I had a feeling you would like this House.
You were right! ???
I showered, moisturized and spritzed with BBW Japanese Cherry Blossom.
Nice! I don’t own any “matching sets” anymore.
Posting late – busy morning followed by grocery store (went to the more expensive one and yikes- prices have really gone up there) and some urgent work. I’m wearing DSH Piment et Chocolat, was feeling like a spicy this morning. Going strong at 9+ hours in!
The prices have gone up at the regular grocery store I go to quite a bit in the past 2 months. I feel your pain!
Posting late too! I wearing 4160 Tuesdays New York 1955 for the raspberry note. I don’t have a second scent on but I am enjoying a Chambord after-dinner liquer, so I will claim partial cp points.
Oooooh, Chambord! It makes for some delicious brownies, too. ??
Ooooh, that sounds really good!
Oh, it is! I’ve run that experiment more than once!
And if you really want to guild the lily, put a small dab or raspberry jam or jelly on top of those brownies before they cook.
Looks like some of us have started the CP, utilizing various methods!
SOTD = Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche and 4160Tuesdays Fluffy Lemon Top
Points for being on theme! I may do this all week as long as I don’t have to think too hard.

I had a slight dilemma and I’ve decided what to do. At Whole Foods, I got 4 tetrapaks of organic chicken noodle soup with bone broth for $5.79 each. Yes, on the expensive side, but I had it a few weeks ago and it was good. Then I went to Wegmans and the exact same thing was, are you ready for this? $3.99 each! WTH ??♀️? So I bought 4, intending to return the ones I bought at Whole Foods. When I looked at the Whole Foods receipt, I realized that I was only charged for 3 instead of 4. Doing the math, I would have gotten back $5.40 and also return the one I was not charged for. For a difference of $0.39, I have decided to save myself AND Whole Foods the hassle of having to process the return. Just to pat myself on the back, on the same trip, I called out (nicely) the pizza guy who stuck a sticker for one item when it should have been for 2. His mistake would have cost $2.00, not much in the whole scheme of things but perhaps, I am allowed the $0.39?
Take the money and run!
LOL!
Yes to reducing aggro! That’s gotta be worth at least 39 cents, right?
Absolutely! At the end of the day, if it weren’t for such a close difference, I would have returned the soups.
I was slightly productive today. I cleaned and organized my daughters craft area, aka the dining room lol.
Sotd is Shalimar Souffle Intense. My personal cp this week is to wear something I don’t wear often, but still love. Yesterday was Narciso L’absolu.
You’ve inspired me. I have been lazy but then again, I am back in the office 3x per week so that will cut into my personal time.
And I love your personal CP!
Saying “Hello” to perfumes loves is always a worthy pursuit!
Ok, that should have been either “perfumeD loves” or just “perfume loves” minus that extra “s”. Fat fingered the keyboard!
No duet for me today, just dabs of Arpège eau de parfum! Very comforting, though. I don’t have any particular memories associated with it, it’s just a classic, meant to smell beautiful. And it does!
Smelling beautiful >> CP, anytime.
Love the vintage Arpege. Wish I could find a bottle with the scent intact. You smell lovely!
So late today. I wore Dusuta Le Pavillon d’Or. It reminds me of a modern Shalimar. They don’t really smell similar but are somehow still related to my nose. PD has the same weight as Shalimar and lasts all day on clothes.
