It's Monday, the last day of January, and National Backward Day. Birthdays: Alan Lomax, Jackie Robinson. What fragrance are you wearing?
I’m struggling to wake up, in Diptyque Volutes.
Reminder: on 2/4, to welcome the Year of Tiger, wear a fragrance that projects or inspires power, bravery, self-confidence and ambition.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2022, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Good morning!! I am so excited to see how many perfume/make-up companies have their products inspired by a tiger this year. Also I wish I simply had Memo Tiger’s Nest and would be wearing that.
Clinique has four Year of the Tiger products. I was horribly tempted to order the DDML, even though I don’t use it, just for that awe-inspiring bottle. There is something nearly irresistible about vermilion and gold — the ancient Chinese sure knew what they were doing when they settled on that colour combination — and when you add that abstract tiger head…. https://www.clinique.ca/product/9424/100826/hotlists/discovery/limited-edition-jumbo-dramatically-differenttm-moisturizing-lotion?size=200ml (It probably looks cheap in person, but I was still tempted!)
The clinique bottles are gorgeous this year, agree.
And adding, some of the mac items are really tempting too.
I’ll be heading down this rabbit hole for a look! Cat themed bottles/packaging? Yes, please.
Oooh this is really gorgeous!! I also love the shade of red the lotion bottle has. I don’t think it will look cheap in person and Friday is my payday…
I can never say no to a body lotion.
Today’s scent will be Beautiful, complete with lotion sent to me by a Beautiful NST’r. The cold weather makes it perfect for layering things. Other than that, I don’t care for winter.
I was born in the Year of the Tiger. Maybe this will be my year. 🙂
I hope so, wouldn’t that be nice?
I’m wearing Fils de Dieu. Thunked another decant.
Goodbye, Fils de Dieu!
Yay for a thunk! I am so close on several things.
Will it be replenished?
LoveLove Fils de Dieu!
I might do another decant, but unfortunately, the reason I was able to thunk it was because the majority evaporated. Or leaked. I’m not sure. I just know that I have rarely used it, and there should have been more. I was not enamored, or I would have worn it more often. As for today’s application, I didn’t enjoy its initial stages, but I am enjoying the drydown.
That’s a beaut. I hope you enjoyed it!
Survived the big blizzard, and didn’t even lose our power! (There were only three outages in the entire metropolitan region, affecting 166 households, which is pretty good, I think.) They still haven’t cleared any of the sidewalks on the side streets (such as the one we live on), but they’ll get to it. At least all the roads are reasonably free of snow.
Wearing SL Miel de Bois for no particular reason other than that I like it, that bright warmth. I don’t know that it projects self-confidence, but I think it probably takes a degree of confidence just to wear it.
Glad the snowpocolypse didn’t cause you too many disruptions. I say get the Clinique tiger! ?
Oh, I think that one gets points today!
Agree!
I’m in VCA Bois d’ Iris.
I am loving how much longer the days are getting. This morning I could see the sun coming up over the lake on my drive to work. Even heard some birds chirping! Spring is coming!???
Hey Madowngirl! If you get a chance check out Saturday SNL where the host is Willem Defoe. Towards the end of the monolog they do a skit about him being from Wisconsin, and the local accent. They did something similar about Michigan accents a few years back. Apparently SNL thinks the whole Midwest speaks like we are in the movie Fargo. Sigh…
Also I heard a bird this morning too! ???
Ha! I will check that out. Love Willem Dafoe.?
My mom and aunt grew up in the twin cities and for some reason my aunt (and I love her dearly!) has a much more pronounced Fargo-ish accent than my mom does. She’s been asked on more than one occasion in her travels if she’s from Minnesota.
I am from southern Minnesota and live in South Dakota now. When I used to travel for work I was once in New Mexico and someone said I talked like the people in Fargo. I really don’t though. It gave me a chuckle? Have to admit I am the blonde haired Norwegian that is characteristic of this part of the country.
I love to hear, and envy all people with, regional English accents no matter which state or country they are from. Boo to “TV Announcer” inflection which alas I mostly have, though I can call up some of my North Georgia for auld lang syne, so to speak.
I love Willem also. I have come to hate SNL, but I made an exception for him. Lol.
I love your Spring optimism! I felt the same way when I saw tulips in the grocery store. I am minding winter very much this year; Spring can’t come too soon.
Once we make it past that shortest day of the year, I can just feel spring coming!
There’s something about that threshold; once we pass that day, I start feeling better….and I live in Texas!
Also starting to hear birds chirping every so often! Pretty soon the mourning doves will be back.
It was definitely a fitting night for National Backwards Day! More like bassackwards day…
I started the night in le labo labdanum (insert number here- I can’t remember and I don’t care) which reminded me STRONGLY of a BPAL scent I used to have. It was nice, the dry down was pleasing, but nope, don’t need something priced like that to remind me of an inexpensive perfume oil. It was very…simple.
Then, I committed petty larceny by surreptitiously using the magnolia scented body wash in the hospital shower. Not bad, but not me.
Finally, I’m now wearing Indochine because I needed an undemanding comforting soothing scent. Pretty sure I use perfume like people use Xanax! ?
People, last night was just a complete cluster which saw me being shuffled to three different units and two different facilities. I received a very simple straightforward order regarding a critical result on a patient. The convo with the MD took two seconds- we medical people can be very succinct! He started the sentence and I finished it. Then, it took a half an hour to find someone who knew how to put the order in the dang computer! I asked two staff nurses, the supervisor, (I never ask fellow travelers. We know nothing because we get zero education regarding the computer systems) and no one knew! I finally called the blood bank and that dear sweet women said, “Sure, I can help you.” I would name my firstborn after her except I’m way past that stage of life!
Just one experience from a night filled with other experiences I won’t bore you with. At 630am, supervisor calls me to ask if I can stay an extra couple of hours because the day nurse had “car trouble, but should be here any time.” (Read: he’s never going to show up…?) No. No! I’m sorry, I cannot and will not stay.
I’ve never been so happy to crawl into the big white womb that is my camper van in all my life. Plus, T-Rex ate like a champ this morning, so it seems her GI issues were transient. ??
I hope every single person in the universe has a very good day today. I’m planning on sleeping right through it. ?
This seems to have been a tough night, hope you enjoy your well deserved rest.
Slept like the dead! ☠️
So glad T-Rex is better and also so glad you did not agree to stay 🙂
Thank you and me too!
Yay for saying NO.Your evening sounds hectic, but I’m glad you managed to get through it!
XO’s
I did get through it. But, I got out of the shower and had to look in the mirror and scared myself! Looked like I’d been dragged through a bush backwards..?
I’m sorry you had a frustrating night. Entering the order isn’t supposed to be the hard part! I’m way behind on reading NST; glad T-Rex is on the mend. ?
Thanks and hope you get your GB issue solved soon. ??
You’re very assertive for someone who was only fortified with magnolia body wash. I can just picture the supervisor’s mouth hanging as you made your escape. ?
I’m T-Rex is feeling better.
I learned at a late age to say “no” but it’s one of my favorite words now. T-Rex sends you tail wags!
You said no! And I, for one, applaud you — bravo.
*takes a bow* ?
Kudos to you for not giving in, and so glad to hear that TRex is doing better!
Thank you! I’m very relieved ?
Hope you had a very good rest today! And so glad to hear T-Rex is back to her normal appetite level. I’ve been loving seeing videos of her on your Instagram.
Another bleary morning here after another waking-at-4-am episode — it’s been two straight weeks of this and I’m having difficulty finding words and finishing sentences. In Timbuktu for its clear-headed, soothingness.
Sending you good sleep vibes and hoping Timbuktu helps! Interrupted sleep is miserable.
Good morning.
Can’t believe January is over!
Sotd is JM Velvet Rose & Oud body oil. Strong enough to be a proper scent so I am happy.
On my second mug of coffee and still tired ? maybe the caffeine will kick in soon..
I can’t believe January lasted so long 😉
I’m with you, happy888cat! It seems like New Year’s Eve was yesterday to me.
Its cold but the sun it out
Robin-I love todays photo!!
We celebrated lunar new year with my Chinese friends yesterday and they cooked a feast. Today I hit the gym..
I was thinking about the CP today and I went with Bukhara by Gallivant. It evokes to me all these powerful traits.
I think I will have one for the CP everyday this week…
Isn’t that a great shot? I have used photos by that woman before.
I’m trying to bring the warm-weather cheer to this frigid winter with Clinique Blue Sky Neroli. It’s making me feel like I should wear neroli more often.
Happy Monday, NST!
And I am rooting for you!
I’m in CdG Kyoto — needed something light and soothing because (drum roll please) our interior paint project is set to start today. Woohoooo! This first stage will involve scaffolding (the main reason I’m not doing this myself) and will go on for an estimated three to four days. Argh, but it’s because they have planned a very thorough job of primering and painting over some rather old and rather dark paint in many hard-to-reach places. I truly hope I have not just jinxed things by saying them out loud. ? Happy Monday all!
Scaffolding twins! Though ours is outside. We have window contractors here, trying to sort out why our windows leak. Which means all the doors are open and one window is out already, more to come (go?). Brrrrr. Kitty is locked up in the laundry room and letting us all know he is Not Happy about that.
Poor Kitty: he know he is missing all the fun!
Oh my. We had leaking window issues, and it turned out it was because the builder had installed two separate windows next to each other, with a plastic filler strip connecting them, instead of using an actual double window. All fine except that they failed to seal or flash the top! Water could just flow between the windows from the top of the filler strip. Yeesh. Hope your issue is something fixable!
Good luck with the painting project!
Thanks for the mention of Kyoto and supplying me with a SotD. 🙂
I was in a rush this morning and am still commando. This one has an austerity that projects a quiet confidence, I think.
Happy to have been of assistance!
Sending you “Get ‘Er Done!” vibes for things to go smoothly!
After starting my bottle of Muddled Plum shower gel this morning, I wanted to continue the plum theme. I went with Natori, but I think my decant has tamed itself over the years. I remember this having more presence, but it’s basically a skin scent on me now. Oh well, that’s just an excuse to reapply through the day.
My boyfriend is out of town on his second work trip of the job he started back in October. I’m missing him, but I did sleep pretty darn well last night with the bed to myself and not hearing or feeling him tossing and turning. I also watched The Lost Daughter last night since it isn’t something he was interested in. I thought it was quite good.
Way back in the days when I lived with a partner, we ended up in separate bedrooms so that both of us could get a good night’s sleep. I really like having my own bed.
If we had a second bedroom, I’d totally consider that. We also just need a new mattress. That might solve a lot of the sleep problems.
I also loved Lost Daughter
Did you hear the next series for Ferrante’s Neapolitan series is coming Feb 28th
ah, here is the trailer https://youtu.be/hn0SL4pi2a8
I’m very excited for the next season!
Me too!!!! eeeee!!!!
Me three!
I haven’t watched My Brilliant Friend series yet, or read the books. But I’m glad to be reminded of it!
Met a perfume pal yesterday and bought her unwanted travel bottle of PN Poudre de Musc Intense. Am wearing Montale White Musk on my other arm, thus trying out my entire musk collection in one go.
Musk a-go-go!
It’s cold and chilly here in MN, but we have blinding sunshine. Drinking coffee in the sunroom deciding if I’m going to go out for a walk. SOTD is Penumbra by AquaFlor Firenze. Dusky spice, vanilla, warm and rich.
Today I’m also booking an apartment in Florence! March-May 2023, a 3 month stay. It’s been quite the challenge to find a place for that long, in budget, good location. A real kitchen and some sort of outdoor space. ? no I’m not asking too much. Anyway, we’ve found it and today is commitment day! Wish me luck…we’ve already had 1 place fall through.
Congrats on finding an apartment that ticks all the boxes and good luck finalizing everything. Sounds like it will be a fantastic Spring trip! And it’s always fun to plan a trip far in advance so you get to enjoy the excitement of the lead up.
What fun!!! I wish you luck!
After a very short nights sleep thanks to my boyfriends snoring i woke up at 3:30 and could not sleep again. So i wore Roma, because the grapefruit and mint note make me more awake and it makes me feel like spring is coming. Maybe i will wear a week of springtime perfumes.
Sorry to hear about the interrupted sleep. I finally gave up and started wearing my airpods to sleep with a sleep podcase playing on a very low volume. Helps me fall asleep and drowns out Mr. Vee’s snoring.
I don’t currently co-habitate with a partner, but if I ever do again, I hope to never again have to share a bedroom!
Of all the luxuries they display on The Crown, separate beds for sleeping is the one I covet the most!
I am a proponent of separate bedrooms, for this very reason.
Ugh, my sympathies about having a snorer next to you in bed!
SOTD is no. 5 L’eau.
Waiting for my packages coming today with Fox in the Flowerbed and Pulp. Yippee!
Lucky you! I hope they arrive soon.
What a nice cheerful duo!
Pulp is so cheerful!
Woke up before my alarm and made phone calls that I needed to make while wearing Epic. Gearing up for the snow storm that is heading my way. Should be here Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and last until sometime Thursday. Wearing Pleasures today and hoping for an easy day at work today.
Ugh. I hope we are not expecting more snow, and I’m not even going to look because I don’t want to know.
I saw you are getting almost a foot? They say the winds won’t be strong so hopefully you keep power.
They say anywhere between 10 and 20 inches.
I had some computer trouble which is all resolved and only skimmed comments for the last few days. I was glad that my NST friends in the storm seemed to come through fine. And I know you all smelled wonderful. Getting in the spirit for Friday’s CP with Lune Feline, the first of my FragranceNet “PurplLux” (couldn’t they have just gone ahead and spelled it out?) choices. Wow, it smells wonderful but first impression was that it was quite masculine – cardamom always strikes me that way. Funny Pet Story: at this time of year, our kitchen gets lots of lovely Sunlight through the window above the sink. Our kitten, 9 months, *loves* to chase laser pointers, which DH and I call “Spotty.” Lately, when doing dishes, getting a glass of water, etc. random refractions and reflections flicker across the kitchen ceiling and floor and kitten goes wild trying to catch them! Once we figured out what he was doing, we try to play with him and he has done some Michael Jordan-worthy leaps trying to get a shiny “Spotty” on the wall or done a commando crawl after a rainbow on the floor.
Enjoy those kitten antics while you can!
In Antiheros this AM. Wish it projected more and lasted longer–I love the scent. This perfume from a generous NSTer, I plan to slather on to my heart’s content today.
Finally have internet, phone and tv services back. My neighbors were all in a tizz missing the big 49s game (me: Um. What sport is that? Unless it is our beleaguered A’s or our “lost” Warriors,” (we made them what they are!!!!) I haven’t a clue). Turns out some major fiber cable was the victim of a shooting spree (news says 17 rounds, which explains nothing) in Oakland, and 30K of us lost connectivity.
And you smell fabulous!a definite LOVE in my ELDO collection!
I’ve heard of people losing Internet due to an errant backhoe, but bullets?? That’s a new one.
Happy Monday!SOTD!
Phi une Rose de Kandahar,do I need to mention the house or perfumer?Haha!
My bottle was a generous freebie from an NST’er,and I am hoarding the 50% that’s left!Gorgeous interesting rose perfume that does wonders for my confidence, and a total mood-booster!
XO’s
Yay for confidence-and-mood-boosting perfumes! Magic in a bottle! And of course, you smell terrific.
I cannot agree more!
And Thank you!
Happy Monday Isabella!
??
You smell wonderful! I just recently got a sample and look forward to Donatella’s smiles when I can spring for a bottle.
I wore Phi a few days ago. It’s so goooood!
xo!
I am curious if this is anything like ELDO Eau de Protection. It sounds like it might be a dark/spicy rose similar to this one, but what do I know. I have not tried this one by Tauer.
My experience is no, Tauer PHI and ELdO’s Eau de Protection are nothing alike. But PHI is all tobacco all the time on me. I did not get any rose or apricot at all.
You do smell fantastic! Phi is a rose that is so much more than rose!
Sunny and bright today from the reflection of the snow outside my window. We ended up with about 8-10 inches. It is freezing (at least by NJ standards — I’m not as tough some of you with your routine sub-zero days), but at least we didn’t lose power. I live near the edge of the city line, and I’m proud of what a good job my city did of clearing the roads. The neighboring town a few yards down the road… not so much.
Wearing a sample of CdG Marseille. As advertised, it smells like luxury soap. It is a comforting smell, and it is cool that CdG recreated it in perfume form, but I can’t see wearing this as a perfume. As a lotion or a linen spray I’d be all over it. It has convinced me to get a bar of real Marseille soap, tho.
Drinking Clippership Ski Lodge tea. Tasty, but seems like the wrong name for a black tea with orange, anise, cinnamon, and chocolate.
I had the same response to Marseille though I did find myself sniffing my wrist long after I sprayed. I also thought it could be good for my teenage son. I also thought it would be a good hospital scent if I go back.
And here’s me trying to think what Clippership Ski Lodge is a good name for.
You definitely got more snow that I did. It’s amazing how much of it has already started to melt or sublime. Pretty sure that a couple of inches are gone from the grass today.
Good morning, NSTers! Well, it’s barely still morning here. I’m in Carner Palo Santo for comfort. I’m relieved to see that most of y’all got through the bad weather safely.
Well, I spent some quality time in the ER one day late last week and found out I have gallstones. Harrumph. Eating small meals has helped, but I’m sure I’m destined for surgery. Will have to see how this and the hubster’s shoulder replacement surgery will get scheduled. Has anyone had their gallbladder out and wouldn’t mind sharing their experience or advice? I’d be most grateful. ?
I had mine out ten years ago. I went in about 7 am, came home at 4:30. A friend drove me home, brought me soup and my prescriptions, and I was fine, though sore, the following day. Really it was not a big deal.
Oh, that sounds very fuss-free! Thank you for sharing, foxbins.
I’m sorry to hear about your ER visit. NOT fun ever and especially these days given the current health situation. I have heard that gall bladder surgery is a lot easier nowadays with laparoscopic surgery. If your husband wants any shoulder replacement experience feel free to have him write or call me!
That’s so true, Calypso. I’d called the nurseline with my insurance and nearly cried when she told me to go in. They weren’t very busy when I walked in, but things were getting a bit frantic by the time I left.
You are so kind to offer your experience of shoulder replacement to my husband, especially with your upcoming surgery! I let him know; will contact you if he wants to talk.
Ouch! So sorry Nancyleandros!
I discovered I had gallstones about 8 years ago and they bother me from time to time but I have never had an attack (knock on wood!) My parents both had theirs out within about 6 months of each other a few years ago after attacks. My mom had laparoscopic surgery and had minimal pain afterward. She also says any discomfort she noticed after meals is gone now.
Oh, that’s great that you can manage things without surgery. I’m definitely eating sparsely to figure out what bothers me. Also glad your folks have had long term success with their surgeries! Thanks so much for sharing. ?
I have a friend who had terrible attacks but was just too busy to ever get around to surgery. Finally, last year, something happened and she had emergency surgery. She says now she hugely regrets she didn’t do it sooner. The recovery was fast and the quality of her life greatly improved.
That’s certainly a cautionary tale. I’m thinking I won’t be able to wait very long. This just seems to be too temperamental to just roll with it. Thank you for sharing, Oakland!
If it’s a lap-chole, which it sounds like it would be, usually it’s a very quick recovery. I’m jealous because mine needs to come out (I’ve had two ERCP’s to remove lodged stones) but I have been unable to get it done because elective surgeries in the areas I have been are not being done. Best to get it done while you can and before you have worsening symptoms or complications. ??
I’m hoping it would be laparoscopic. I went down a ERCP-shaped rabbit hole this afternoon. Thank you! I didn’t know that procedure even existed. I hope you’re able to get yours taken care of sooner rather than later. Isn’t it crazy than gallbladder removal is considered elective? The times we live in…
I had stones but wasn’t having full on attacks; opted for surgery because the rest of my family have all had similar experiences. It was quick and easy, I felt sore for a couple days but it was a relief to have it gone.
I’m thinking that’s the best long term solution for me too, ringthing. My dad had his out, as did his father. Did some research and evidently it is hereditary. Thank you for sharing, ringthing. ?
My Mom had to have her gallbladder removed ages ago. Unfortunately, it was before laparoscopic surgery was common, so it was a bit of a slog for her to heal. But she was still much happier afterwards.
Same for my dad, Jalapeno, he had a time with his recovery!
I’m so sorry to hear about your gallstones! I hope you can figure out what to do next… and that it resolves eailsy.
Thanks tulipani! Starting the process with my PCP tomorrow.
I really appreciate all of the input. NSTers, you rock!
No advice from me, but a ton of well wishes!
Aww, thanks lillyjo!
It has been AGES since I’ve posted here…
SOTD: R’Oud Elements (Kerosene). 🙂
welcome back stranger
*waves to girardEAU*
I’m having to wait a long time at the hospital for my pre-admission appointment because the guy in my doctor’s office who was supposed to schedule me didn’t. So I’m here as a walk-in which means a probably wait for several hours. At least I brought my laptop. I put on Musk Deer for something nice and comforting and not too assertive. My knee surgery will be on Thursday.
I am glad for you that you could do the walk-in and keep your schedule! I look forward to hearing you came through it all as planned after Thursday. Mr. Mossy had a minor procedure rescheduled to April because the local providers in our small town are very cautious about a possible covid surge.
Thank you. I’m sorry to hear that. This is one of the things that’s good about a big city.
What a drag. I hope you can treat yourself to something nice afterwards to make up up for the bad start .
Hahaha. Story here: I was just here last week to see my hand doctor. The hospital complex is enormous with restaurants, shops, a post office, banks, etc. plus a fabulous jewelry shop. They always have gorgeous window displays. Of course it’s mainly for rich doctors or foreign patients. But they were having a 70% off sale and I splurged and bought a four-carat opal ring! It’s on layaway for now. This is my “knee replacement reward” ring. I also have a hip replacement opal pendant and shoulder replacement earrings!
Good on you! I love opals.
Oh that sounds beautiful! Hope it all goes well.
This is the best thing I’ve heard in a long time! I bet that opal set is absolutely stunning! ?
I’ll post a photo on Instagram!
How wonderful to treat yourself to opals!
Yay for all that lovely bling!
You’ve had a time of it, so I think you absolutely deserve a treat!
Yeah me too!
Your first sentence does not surprise me in the least. I’m amazed every day I work by people who don’t do their jobs. I have many examples, but will spare you. I hope everything gets done correctly and you get out of there soon!
It wasn’t too bad! I was in and out within an hour and a half. Just got my test results and I’m Covid negative. Yay!
So are you going to be in hospital from now until your procedure?
No I’m home. This was for the screening tests line Covid and to get information etc. I’ll go in on Thursday morning early.
Good luck with the surgery!
I’m wearing PG Louanges Profanes this morning. Smelling good!
Just looked that one up–wonderful name but extra wonderful sounding perfume!
I love that one! Been thinking about a bottle for some time.
Sampling Chantecaille Oud Fume which is a less vanilla-ey, more herbal version of Kalimantan. I like it but I already own Kalimantan so no need to buy this one
Interesting. I wonder if that line does well, I so rarely hear about them here.
Can’t believe it’s February already!!
I’m glad to read that people have come through the storm OK.
Inspired by Deva, I’m going to wear Indochine today.
Hi twin! ??
Rabbit rabbit rabbit! I am now getting up before sunrise and going to bed after sunset which can only mean one thing…shorter days, autumn. Still, February usually bring calmer, warmer weather so there’s that, hopefully. I am watching and waiting for my sunflowers to open. They keep growing taller and taller but have not yet flowered. This week, maybe. Wearing Ostara as it’s such a golden, happy scent.
I love Sunflowers. My across the street neighbor had them when I was a kid. I hope yours opens soon.
Oh, I have not planted any in years! I used to love them too.
It is NOT QUITE February, which I emphasize because Twisted Lily sent me an alert that they will be raising prices on several brands, including MEMO and Amouge, Career and Roja starting in February. (I bet you did not know it was possible to raise the price any further on a couple of those brands!) Anyway, if you are in the mood to purchase, give a call in the next few hours.
\
wow! Amouge is already a fortune!!!!
Give a call to the store, not me. I have no connection.
I wore Phi a few days ago. It’s so goooood!
Double post. Wish I knew why my phone constantly skips back..
My reply is very touchy. I always have to double look before hitting post.
SOTD is Chergui. I wear this because it is a winter favorite more than a confidence booster. It has been one of my winter top ten perfumes for several years. I just love it’s soft spicy dry down.
I always think of purchasing this one and then never do. Sounds like you are a fan.
I didn’t like it at first but it’s so perfect in cold weather.
You smell great today.
Thanks!
10C and some sunshine, so I’m not complaining.
Was wearing Ted Lapidus White Soul, a cheapie that doesn’t smell cheap, have the body lotion too but tonight I went opposite of the financial spectrum with AdP Profumo, makes me feel instantly elegant that one.
Gotta love those perfumes that punch well above their price point. What’s sad is coming across something that is $$$$$$ and smells like the cheapest, nastiest stuff ever.
? So true, fortunately Profumo justifies its price by being very plush, + I got it for less than £50.
NICE bargain hunting on your part!
She’s the best at it!
It’s been a long time since I posted! Glad to see everyone is doing okay despite all the storms on the east coast. Today I am in Cuir d’Ange for something subtle to go to the gym, run errands, and bow parts for my orchestra librarian job.
Hello again!
Oh you smell great!
Hey Birdy16! Glad to hear you still smell good 🙂
I’m in Ormaie L’Ivree Bleue today 🙂
Hope it was a good day Lucasai!
I have been in a funk…wore no perfume the last two days and could use some power, bravery, self-confidence or ambition.
Just sprayed on some Lira and will see if that helps. 🙂
Oh dear. I’m sorry to hear about your funk. Late January can bring the doldrums. Maybe you need some chocolate? Hugs!!
I definitely need more chocolate…preferably dark! 🙂 Hugs to you, Calypso.
That’s no good. I hope life becomes less funky soon … and more fun. Big hug!
Thanks, Kanuka. Meant to mention that katabatic was a new word for me. 🙂 When I google I saw Santa Ana winds are katabatic too…we get those in southern CA. Love learning new words!
Hope your funk gets better soon. February Funk would be a good name for a blues song.
Yes…or a good band name!!! 😉 Thanks, ringthing!
At least it is the end of January and I heard that funks are no longer in vogue starting February. Don’t forget to rabbit!
I will rabbit and No Funk February could also be a band name…see above. 😉
Passing you a bowl of virtual ice cream!
Thanks, Jalapeño! I love ice cream too!
https://youtu.be/PqiZ_gryYUQ
Here’s a song, a dance, and a laugh for you!?
Ahahahah I love that song too!
Gotta move on! ? Indeed!
In Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge.
Very busy day, so back to read comments later.
Happy Monday!
Ooooooooh, you stink really pretty today!
Thank you, Jalapeno! ?
Swoon to your sotd!
Thanks! ?
Song of the Day: https://youtu.be/LQ123T3zD2k
Gorgeous picture for today Robin! Thanks for posting it.
Commando for part of the day due to an afternoon dermatologist appointment. I erred on the side of caution as far as fragrance and anti-perspirant/deodorant and didn’t wear any until after I got home.
SOTD = Alien Le Gout du Parfum (The Taste of Fragrance) EdP. Since it’s still cold where I am at, might as well wear this while I can!
Posting a Pefume PSA: if anyone here is a fan of Aromatics in White or Aromatics in Black, they are in the “Last Chance Sale” section of Clinique’s website. Dunno for how long, though.
OK, that should have been “Perfume PSA”. Hit send too quickly!
You smell nice! I am chilled today!
Thank you!
I was surprised when I did a temperature check this afternoon, because I thought it felt warmer than what the actual number was. I think it’s because the wind is gone! Not missing that at all.
We are house twins!
I wish that Aromatics in Black was a tad cheaper. The White one is on Fragrance net for a good price.
Oh and great song!
Thanks!
I have a sample of AE in White that I think is OK. The AE in Black sounds interesting because of myrrh, but cherry notes go so bad on me it’s not funny.
And it looks like I confused AE in Black with AE Black Cherry. So the AE in Black *might* be worth a blind buy…
And I thank you back for the song 🙂
You’re welcome!
Wearing Wazamba, yesterday and today. I feel like it could get CP points because it smells calming yet powerful.
I have always loved the name of that perfume. Wa-ZAMBA! So fun..!
Whenever I see Wazamba, I say it like Kathy Bates says Tawanda! In Fried Green Tomatoes.
Happy late Monday, everyone!
I’m wearing Mon Guerlain. Nothing tiger about it, I’m just trying to decide if I want to declutter the bottle. Still undecided, it’s nice but I rarely reach for it.
Ooh, and I have a perfume PSA for those who enjoy Shalimar Philtre de Parfum. It’s available at discounters! Also, the price for it on the official Guerlain site has gone up a tiny bit ($5? ), which makes the discounted price even more attractive.
I saw Philte too! I was tempted for sure!
SOTD = Diptyque Kyoto
Woot! Such a great perfume!

Slowly but surely cleanup – 2 extra bags today!
My internet is flaky today and seems specially flaky while I am trying to finish an email. Worse – a former co-worker, who transferred to another group, pinged me. She kept going even after I said I am trying to finish an email. Grrrr…I finally had to say we will need to catch up at a later time. Some people are oblivious!
My Internet was going goofy last week. It seems to have stopped for now.
Sorry to hear that you’re now dealing with that.
It got better when I was powering through but oh what a pita ?
Oh that bottle!
People are oblivious in general. Hope your internet is 100% soon.
The bottle is great, not quite a red red but certainly red enough.
I never tried Kyoto but I’m sure it’s wonderful.
That happens to me all day at work. It doesn’t matter what I am doing. People think nothing of it.
Seriously about the oblivious ones.
Sampling Alien Goddess today. I actually like it. It smells almost identical to JhaG Vanilla Vibes which I also like. Goddess had zero original Alien in it. They should have just called it Goddess.
Thanks for the review! Means I can take my time sniffing that one, if at all…
I’m going to say that I’m sure I have a sample of this!
